This song became the background sound to a video created by a student from Whitney young H.S in chicago title "Dunk or Die" classic video that had me and all my guys recreating said dunks in our backyards......
Thanks for posting this! Takes me back to partying at the WareHOUSE in Chicago, where the term House music came from. First jumped off in the late '70's early 80's at the "Warehouse" on Jefferson in an old warehouse building near downtown. Frankie Knuckles was the dj . Midnight til noon! it grew from there. Frankie split and started his own sets at the "Power Plant" .The Warehouse moved to 16th & Indiana, became the Muzik Box with Ron Hardy. Power Plant on Friday nites, Musik Box on Sat!
I had a long response about the LA scene, and yes, LA did have one.
Music is universal. It does not belong to Chicago, it does not belong to New York or LA. My opinion is this cut is House because it was underground there at the time. In LA this was just club music, huge with hispanic party crews a few years after it's release. This stuff is still being played at club nights such as Disco Retro night in LA. The only thing LA got wrong was speeding it up to chipmunk speed.
It's not accurate, but It's not that crazy. For us from Chicago during that era the term house music is used loosely to refer to all of the underground dance music that was played in the underground "post-disco" clubs during that era. Doing so is not intended to appropriate other scene's music. It's just local jargon. These electronic Italo-disco tracks were very influential on the house music producers that came shortly thereafter.

@brandywells Thank you for clearin that up to all them outsiderz! They don't understand what we had and what was created in the streets of Chicago! We bumped this day and night while everyone else was listening to weak ass rock music. NY kept this in their night clubs and LA was insignificant. Chicago bumped it across the city all day and all night!
@ChicagoDeepHouseHead Exactly, house was in the streets in Chicago, not just the clubs. The high school kids in Chicago were into the house culture back in the early 80's. I stayed in Jamaica Queens NY back in 86 for the summer and when I played my house mixes they weren't trying to hear it so enough with the NY is house argument. NY cats was busy buying Hawaiian short suits and Filas back in those days. House was not just music in Chicago, but a style.
@ChicagoDeepHouseHead I lived in NYC all my life . and yes the club scenes were rocking the house music . but, I was one of those that played it Day and Night , even on my boom box in the streets of the Bronx ,Manhattan and where ever I went . I dint care I Loved the Music even if most of them dint , I Banged that House Music OUT !!! =) and that was all I Played and play til this day
I love love love this song! Remember dancing to this at the clubs in Los Angeles Casa,Gino's,D.Q's,Quiet Canon....All those places. It was always played a little faster, I liked it that way this version is a little to slow.
