I love this!! Could you do Manteca or Birk's works by Dizzy Gillespie? I've been trying to work on something like this but I can't seem to get it just right. This is inspiring
Wow man, amazing mix this is about the 4th time I've replayed it!...Look at my user name, and see if you can figure out who I am :) I'll give you a hint...Greenday, 6th grade!!

O shit!!! this is great... the first few seconds scared me and i got real angry thinking this would butcher their style... although the groove doesn't move a love the feel so thanks
Wow, that's all I can say, im looking at the post's and this mix has been out for a minute and im just now coming across it...........good work bruh.........good work!!
in sentimental thought in a sentimental mood lemme convey the sentiment im tryn' ta extrude. nostalgia, pain for home pick up the receiver to hear the dial tone. mama in the kitchen making her fried chicken. the scent fills my nose as i ponder on my prose as coltrane bumps and fills my soul.
in sentimental thought in a sentimental mood lemme convey the sentiment im tryn ta extrude.
please add some more common guys lets make an epically awesome rap!
As much as I dug how you used the piano sample in this... I think you're doing Trane and Duke a big discourtesy. However, the way you use the piano is amazing.
Yo this is really good; I could hear this as part of a soundtrack for a movie. Maybe for like the opening scene of an urban crime drama or something... good stuff!
MrLakerda, congratulations on being related to the best jazz player!!! MrLakerda, have you heard the rumor that John Coltrane might have literally been an angel?
well, you definately got the groove. but don't forget that there are jazz buffs out there that know that in this song, coltrane and ellington both play awesome solos. try to skillfully incorporate them and you will have a masterpiece on your hands! advice: don't chop them up too much. the solos are solid.
It's definitely cool, but I totally agree... more of "In A Sentimental Mood" should've been used throughout the track. Makes me think that the remixer didn't know how to incorporate the complexity of the tune's chord progression. I would also like to hear some of Elvin Jones' amazing dumming smapled in there somewhere. Nevertheless, the funky drum track is probably the best component of this track.
Wow this is pretty hot. I clicked on expecting the actual song and was monmentarily annoyed that is wasn't but I waited to see if maybe I would enjoy it and I must say it's now on my favorites
I like this track, a lot. I only wish that other parts of the song where used as well. What makes this song so beautiful is the way the chord progression takes you through an array of emotions, before it finally settles into an easy smile.
