  • bots don't take shots and give back a portion of their winnings to better poker players.

    they just take money out of the game which keeps cash from getting to the higher stakes players.

    the money that should be moving up the ladder doesn't which could cause the sharks to swim in shallow waters...making it nearly impossible for lesser players to build a bankroll and thus destroying the game.

  • The problem is not the bot beating YOU.

    The problem is the bot taking money from the fish, which results on you not being able to win that money. If the sites where really infested the games would dry.

  • It's just really annoying to keep track of the bots on your table... you know they are only going to play top 5 hands... and for the most part they are playing ridiculous poker... The only thing they have going for them is that they have more patience. If you move up to 10/20cent they're gone. They can't beat that anymore.

  • They are software programs that play for you. The only problem is that poker bots aren't very good. Just think about the poker simulations that you can buy that employ the very best bot's available. How hard is it to learn to beat these things? So to make money with bot's you need as many as you can get playing for long long hours against the weakest of players. Hardly a panacea. It's a full time job managing. It is really only attractive to professionals who have the resources.

  • You think that matters to these people. They just open a different account tomorrow. Anyway these poker robots aren't all that great. Sure they can make money if you employ enough of them, but they are not real hard to beat. The people who lose money to them would still be losing money anyway.

  • Yeah, but that's the point. I think they operate on the principle that a large proportion of poker players online are poor gamblers who can't quit when they should.

    Also, they aren't all necessarily bad bots; some decent A.I. has been developed for poker recently.
