I used to listen to Roby back in his CCM days and was reintroduced to him through this video. I absolutely love this song and would love to learn it. I figured out the tuning but having difficulty picking up the chords. Have found nothing on the internet on it. If anyone has tabs or chords written out PLEASE send me a message.
Memorial in Bellevue, WA - around 20 people marched up to give tribute to their friend..it became the running joke that they were all Roby's best friend because he made them all feel that way and he most likely did. Roby was interesting to say the least - one part hermit, one part genius, one part constant dialogue - well if you were a hermit and a genius, you'd have lots to say once you left your confines. in his last few months, he had found a new freedom in the Lord that made him shine.
He was and IS one of the primary mentors in my life, and I'll never stop missing him or longing for more of his music. They say you never know what you've got until it's gone, but we all knew what we had with Roby, and that makes it all the harder to know it's gone. You changed my life, Bro', and I wasted such an incredible opportunity. See you again some day ... save me a seat down front, OK? Miss you and love you, Roby ... I envy the angels. ; )
I corresponded with Roby quite a bit, and had a chance to have him produce some of my music. I procrastinated for empty reasons, and then it was too late. I try not to carry around too much regret, but that one stays with me. I never got to shake his hand, look into his eyes, or hear what joyous sounds he might have inflected into my simple melodies. I haven't written a song since he passed, but I know one day I'll have to, for the sole reason that he'd chew me out for it if he were here. ; )
I had the pleasure of being a photographer at this event and saw from mere feet away. I was floored that a man such as Roby with his lively sense of humor and entertaining stage presence could bring forth such a beautiful sound. What a loss for us on earth and a gain for the heavens when he passed.
I had never seen him perform until today spending about 2 hours searching and playing and placing "like" on all of them...oh how I enjoy his spirit of sharing: how he shared with Jesus first and the rest of us were just blessed to partake...yes, fruitful, full of Christ's Spirit...may Christ touch us that we all may touch the Lord and bless others in doing so. Thanks for sharing.
Roby was a good friend of mine The guitar in this video was mine. We traded just before this gig. Just last week I was able to obtain it again. The piece of blue tape is still on it. The painting at the end of the video was painted by my brother at Roby's memorial
Steve - think I met you at memorial in Miss. I was looking for something - anything on the anniversary date. Roby had that effect that never leaves. I am sad and happy all at once.
I knew Roby. I was so glad he came back to Jesus. You can tell that he loves Jesus. The picture at the end brings me the most joy. He is WITH Jesus. I will get to see him at some time in te future. I miss you bro.
Thank you for posting this video. I also was blessed to see him at that concert - a last minute addition that really blessed my mother (70) and me. What a wonderful picture at the end - a picture of God embracing that wonderful man - Job Well Done!
Beautiful song. A class act. He will be missed.

Joy meets the sublime in one embrace. Roby, you were in heaven long before you left this place. Rest by the streets of forever.
