Gotta love the idiots who take the time to post a negative comment. They took the time to listen to the song and watch the video but have nothing good to say about... Brainiacs.
I don't know why he doesn't play harmonica much any more besides maybe its jut not his thing, or maybe it hurts his ear. But I swear if its because of, for lack of a nicer term, ignorant people comparing him to dylan or hating on him for being like dylan, then i really hate you people...
@emuLATERdude5by5 junk? really? apparently you have good taste in music, u must just be too young and naive to realize how heartbreaking this music is. Im glad u know rock n roll, but this man transcends any label, and if you did have to put one on him i dont think it would be rock n roll. If u think u can make music like this please dear god do so, because ryan adams can only come out with so much, and the rest of todays music is crappppp. I need something to listen to, so, have at it...
this guy is a little weird,he was on the BBC to do a collaboration with 2 other musos and decided at the last second he wouldn't play or do backing vocals while one of the other artists were playing..he said later it wasnt mandatory to play, but that was the whole reason why he was invited to play in the first place...wacko
@emuLATERdude5by5 so because he plays an acoustic guitar and harmonica he's copying Dylan? If thats the point your making then anyone who's picked up a guitar since 1966 and played popular music has copied Dylan and no emotion? Everyday must be a roller coaster of emotion for you, to think theres no emotion in this performance and take bonzo out of zeppelin and you have no emotion and him being the drummer doesn't make it an equal comparison to this song
@emuLATERdude5by5 hes not trying to be Dylan!!! Your seat in your ways!!! This man is pure class!!!NO EMOTION N BORING!!!WHAT???? YOU TAKING THE PISS!!!
I'm a massive Ryan Adams fan! I think you may also like my music? I was wondering if you wouldn't mind having a listen to my new demo 'Yes I would' by my project 'Lets Make Movies Instead...' and let me know what you think? leave a comment etc...
I'm not gonna lie, I didn't know Ryan Adams at all before this video, but I'm so glad I watched it! I bought the Zac Brown Band's "You Get What You Give" CD (which I would highly recommend) some time back, and they included a cover of this song as a bonus track. I always really enjoyed the song, and I'm really glad it ended up leading me to such a great artist! The kind of pure emotion he shows, like when his voice breaks singing "sweet"... reminds you how powerful and beautiful music can be.
@Wrightis that's so sad.i don't think DRA would want that; i mean, think of all the songs he wrote that must remind him of times he'd rather not remember but he still plays them because they're beautiful and he probably knows that it's no good dwelling on things that make you sad. i think one day his songs willl soothe you again.hope i'm right(:
spin your records dude....put your 4/4 beats together....but dont talk shit on ppl who actually write different kinds of music....remember you need technology...this guy just runs on his feelings and puts it in a song. sorry you can't fist pump to it
@Dav1dwuzhere I've been a drum and bass DJ for over 10 years, so yeah, I am musically inclined more so than this twangy acoustic guitar shit that sounds the same as all the other acoustic guitar shit. This sounds like dirt in audio form.
@soundcell A DJ is musically inclined? More than this guy? Thanks for the laugh. I needed that today. It takes a special talent and feeling to be 10% of what Ryan Adams is. I could put a tiny pair of headphones on my cock and mimic you exactly.

This is by far my favorite Ryan Adams song. Probably one of the greatest songs ever written.
Honored to say he's from the great state North Carolina<3
Not really sure I like Ryan as a man, can come across quite moody, but wow is he talented, this song shows his talent more than any, a beautiful song, wonderful...
@AcousticfellowThe i'm sorry, but a song can't tell you that. It can only say how nice it is to feel like this, and how nice it is to think of someone.
My favorite Ryan Adams song. He's definitely an underrated musician. I really miss the beautiful female backing vocals from the album, but this is so raw. I love it!
Oh my good god, this is easily the best version of this song he's done. I love the fact that he's almost whispering in some parts with his voice cracking, beautiful.
Carolina I used to dream of Carolina Till I moved to Tennessee... Made all my moves when I was younger Now I am sitting on the porch By a road that calls to me Listening to the thunder of a fast approaching storm Letting memories drag me under While the bottle keeps me warm... M.S. Morrison
The fact that Ryan Adams is unforgivably fucked up in this video is almost entirely ignorable because of how fucking beautiful this track is... Three cheers for opiates.
actually he doesn't look to be nodding off to me so I think he's fine. how many addicts do you know that bust out singing, remembering all lyrics, strapping on their harmonica thingy and playing it, and guitar playing well, and all while effed up? jeebus. he's just wearing glasses and doesn't brush his hair.

Did not hear this song until over 2 years ago. do the math, and now i "feel my lightbulb's burnin out" thank you ryan:) Great song brother hope i can meet you some day:)

It's music. Just because Ryan Adams may be a complete asshole, it doesn't reflect his music. This song is genuinely amazing.
