I am going to start practicing Downhill with a Norco Atomik 2008, is that a good idea? i heard they we're VERY good bikes for beginners.

@IWscrewedCoDMW2 ... yes .. i highly recommend the Norco Atomik for DH. I modified mine from the stock set up to bring the stem/handlebars closer in and make the cockpit tighter ... but the frame is money.

hey proto .... I actually write for both BIKE and Mountain Bike magazines and, as a result, test a lot of bikes. That Norco Atomik was my selected "keeper" from last year. It's now my official 'Whistler bike'. To answer your question: the bike handles 'super dope'. You made the right call.
