  • been watching your vids, great work , re the above trx . is the T/R switch just that ? switches between tx and rx only . does it not have a freq offset for tx/rx? your vids have inspired me to go qrpp this summer . forgive my ignorance , does the 2 parrallel xtals enable the freq sweep you have and would this be lost just using 1 xtal ? I ask because i stuck a variable cap on a pixie and only got minimal swing from 1 xtal ..

  • @m0jhaqrp 1. T/R: Yes only switches supply and antenna. Offset is manual. 2. VXO: 2 parallel xtals helps increases shift. But you also need inductor in series with crystal - try values between 10 - 33 uH to greatly increase shift.

  • wowwww incredible it's fantastic !! 73 de IT9BDM

  • Hi,

Thanks for this; my cup of tea.

Can you please tell me what the values are for the variable caps? Were does the 10 pf cap from pin six of the ne602 go to? Is there a printable schematic somewhere?

  • @determinist48 1. It goes to the base of the 2N3053 via another 10pF. 2. This is the only diagram available.

  • awsome, good job

  • Thank you for your video. It is an inspiration especially for a new ham. The circuit at the end of the video is a little confusing mainly the first oscillator stage and also the audio out pin for the NE602. Is that really a functional circuit or are you just using that for illustration?

  • @ObamaTaliban it's a real circuit. Try full screen for a better view. Pin 5 of NE602 is audio out. Pin 6 is oscillator in from base of 2N3053.

  • Is this from a kit? If so, what kind (Pixieii, etc)?

  • Vy cool, Peter. This would make a great kit that could be shipped in the food container!!

Your site requires a daily visit, thanks!!!
