  • Amazing ! It's played in a quite romantic way... Well, I don't care. It's so great, it reveals the true and mysterious - mystic - beauty of this piece.

  • splendide - émouvant - touche l'âme - des sonorités remarquable

  • The wonders of a transcription, summarized in this piece.

  • Wow: I have Walcha playing this on the organ. Feinberg's transcription is breathtaking. Wonderful to find this. Thanks, and for all your other wonderful uploads.

  • Great music and great musician

  • I can see that other youtube users agree, but would like to, to express my opinion, that this interpretation is astonishing.

  • @ truecrypt.........

dear wonderful friend, you must know that many people have no conception of the depth and breath of such playing here. Volodos, while so gifted, does not take the breaths and true independence of tonality of each line and pedaling..........which is the incredible secret................besides the sensitive and delicious ornamentation. Feinberg was one of the most sensitive players in the Russian school.

  • it's not in c major, it's in a minor

  • @wasanik123

Trio Sonata BWV 529 is is considered C-major because 1st and 3rd movements are in C-dur. Largo (2nd movement) is in a-minor.

  • @truecrypt um...haha...i totally knew that. sorry!

  • Music done as i th etimes where life deserved the pain of to be lived.

    Magnificent is a short word...

The excellence of this interpretation belongs to those times...those times!!!!!!

after those times....what do we have?

Thanks for to have posted this jewel,Sir Truecrypt!!

  • The great, great Feinberg...this music and the playing are simply sublime. Another marvelous post on your channel!

  • i love this recording. Paced right and rather well. Bach was pretty good wasn't he at this stuff. Such stuff. Feinberg is fine at it.

  • This is of course beautiful but Volodos' interpretation is about 10x better

  • @maxjamesorgans

I actually like Volodos very much and consider him one of the most gifted pianists of our time. What I don't understand is how you measure the beauty of interpretation?

    Any particular mathematical formula? ;)

  • @truecrypt Yes the opinion formula:

    2x+4y*5436345732645

    =y1O2U3A4R5E6A7R8E9T10A11RD12+7845-25234

=In my opinion x (Volodos) plays this particular piece better than this guy

  • @maxjamesorgans

"This guy" has a name - Samuil Evgenievich Feinberg, so be kind enough to address performer with due respect. FYI Volodos was a student of Bashkirov, who in turn studied with Goldenwiser and Feinberg. Again, there is nothing wrong in liking Volodos more, but it doesn't mean you can belittle Feinberg to "this guy" level...

  • @truecrypt I even called his playing beautiful!

  • @maxjamesorgans

I have nothing against your opinion... but don't you feel that "10x better" in this case is not acceptable? Even if you like Feinberg's performance it doesn't mean you can address him as "this guy". Paying due respect to outstanding artists would only add more credibility to your views.

  • @maxjamesorgans

oh... it explains a lot... getting more and more "casual"... ;)

  • @truecrypt What explains a lot? I wasn't getting more and more casual. Quite the opposite actually because I was getting more and more agitated and subsequently more formal. This trick of trying to waste my time and annoying me is really working! Well done!

  • Incredibly it touches my heart...

  • Total 100% perfection in modulation, no other music matters to me but Bach's. He totally transcended the boundaries of the disciplines at which he excelled. J.S.Bach, THE greatest achievement in the history of music !!!!!!!! An exceptional human being!

  • Just divine

  • Wunderbarer expressiver Klavierton

  • oh my god, I've can't believe what I'm hearing. I've never heard bach so magical. Thank you God for this performance.

  • I concur. I can not get enough of this. The written music itself is superb and feinberg's execution of it is just out of this world.

  • Will someone also post Volodos's staggering performance of this too?

  • sehr gut dankee

  • Great transcription and masterfully played!

  • Yes Bach,Here are many more baroque rhetorical devices, such as short bursts of entirely diffent tempi. This is ornamented tempo.

  • Emotive without being overly sentimental; Feinberg's technique is exemplary.

  • Dear Andrei,It's the accelerandi and playing slightly ahead of the beat that keep the weight of the tenuti and rallentandi from being 'too much'

  • Perfect!

  • Feinberg has many transcriptions, many are just great. He was very serious, interesting, original and distinctive pianist.

    Also man of principle.

  • Favorited!

  • Very nice!
