I used to race Golfs, a carby 1.6, a turbo 2.0 EFI, & a Audi 5cyl turbo, & now I race an Audi S8; also built Toyota 2JZ twin turbos, Chev V8s etc so what would I know about engines right? Go & remove your exhaust & see how you go with your "mythical" backpressure. I build Porsche turbos & Audi V8s down to a thousandths of a millimeter daily, so if you wish to argue engine dynamics and flow...go ahead. Clearly that exhaust (& my comment) are a joke.

@proph3t777 you don't need back pressure.You need exhaust gas velocity to scavenge effectively, you need to keep delta P high. If your accelerate gas it's pressure drops. If you have a 3" pipe on a 1400cc car then the velocity will be shit slow, especially at low rpm, and it will struggle to clear the cylinders because there's a big dump of air not moving. the scavenging effect is important not the back pressure. also you don't want any back pressure on a post turbo exhaust.

@kyleisreallycool Good to talk to someone on here that understands engines at such a level :) Its all a balance of flow capacity and velocity. A large bore pipe has higher gas capacity, a smaller bore will flow less gas at a higher velocity. Depending on about 50 other engine capacities and dynamics, you require a exhaust bore that matches the level of exhaust gas being expelled from the engine. Too large and the gas wont flow correctly or effectively, too small and it will be restrictive.
