i would just take the capacitor out buy myself a AA battery pack and switch attach the wires like you did and then tape the leads to a glove and do what ever i want with it. would that work ? what makes the capacitor discharge?

Correct, but it's always safe to double check the capacitor leads with a screwdriver or some sort of metal to make sure it isn't charged.

Its safe as long as it isn't charged, so twenty times is fine.

Very good tutorial, and nice warning on the capacitor being charged. I tried this without any guidance and well, I think you see where I'm going with this. I didn't even touch the capacitor, just the circuit board, and well it didn't hurt really bad, it scared the fuck out of me. Funny thing is, I didn't discharge it after touching it so I went on to do it a second time, and finally I discharged it with a screwdriver. Lol. Nice vid, 5 stars.

a small tip for anyone attempting this,

when you reach the curcuit board with the capacitor, try not to touch the board. it could shock you if its charged. i used a non- disposable camera and numbed my arm for 1 minute. this project is dangerous!
