Just finished the game yesterday for the SNES and it was amazing.

If you haven't played this game you're missing out. And Akira Toriyama is also amazing for his work

Frog couldn't have been there to fight Zombor on the bridge.

And since when has Ayla had a club? I thought she used her fists?

It's never shown or mentioned in the game itself. Ayla just has Fist, Iron Fist and Bronze Fist, as you can't buy equippable weapons for her.
