The files themselves are not "edited", Lightroom creates a set of steps that you used to create whatever look you are going for and then renders jpegs when you do the export process.

Q so can you edit raw in photoshop and save in lightroom as the same image or do you have to save as copy and what about jpegs for the web do you have to save several files of the same image?

Hey so is it possible to get a cd-rom of lightroom and then install the software to by computer or do I have to download the software from the site?? If I download from the site, wouldn't that mean I can only download to that computer whereas if I get an actual disk I can install the software onto both my computers.?. If I download from the site could I still install the program onto multiple computers? Any help will be great..thank you in advance

@Mozo901 You could download it to multiple computers, you could download it to one computer and put it on a shared folder, you could copy it to the USB drive and use that on multiple computers. The only limitation is the terms of the end user agreement.

a photo PROCESSING tool, Photoshop is a photo EDITING tool

No, its nothing like Photoshop. Photoshop is not an asset management system, it doesnt do meta tags, doesnt have collections, doesnt do slideshows or web gallerys. Lightroom doesnt do pixel level editing, doesnt have layers. So Lightroom is an image processor, Photoshop is an image editor. There is a distinct difference.

Yes you can do whatever you want as long as you save it as a JPEG and make sure MSN or myspace will let you upload files as large as the one you generate.
