  • This is just a pretty dance. Worthless...

  • @mothtohtheflame bet you woudn't say that to his face you'd be flipped so hard on your back you'd piss your pants

  • @ajdoman317 flip...spin...turn...whatever the dancing terminology is, i'll make sure to stretch properly and put on some leg warmers when i face the sixth dan tango master

  • @mothtohtheflame I'm sure you agree whit me if I told you that the Samuraï were one of the finest warrior of this world. Well, the Aikido was the martial art used by the Samurai.

  • what is sankyo

  • Surely he could swing round with a lower back/ kidney punch?

  • @FreestyleCodShots Indeed. But this is not a flaw of the move, but the master. If he were to perform sankyo in my club he'd get one to the kidney right away. Overall Gary Boaz (the guy performing the move) tends to be very arrogant in his interpretations of techniques. However if performed properly, tori will be out of uke's range. Oh, and sankyonage also seems somehow unbelieveable. Once again, the master's flaw.

  • @FreestyleCodShots In Aikido training, uke doesn't usually look for the counter punch during technique; uke looks to 'blend' with where tori wants to go. Hence you see uke move around and roll forward at the end. If this were a real situation, Sankyo would be performed slightly differently with the intent to snap uke's wrist immediately. Speed and Power would be applied, as would a slight change to hips and entry angle.

  • If you like these types of jokes got another dumb one for you. Say when=7 (in Asian/English speak).

  • are u sure u can do it in real life with good strong boxer?

I think these technics not gona work then!

  • @ali404040 Meh depends. Either way it only will work with trial and error, but I honestly think you can use it against a boxer when you master the technique. Good point though.

  • The one who created Aikido will say "sankyo" to sankyo

  • 180

  • "Choices, choices, choices". I'd love to have you as my aikido instructor over here. Ever thought of crossing the ocean? ;D

  • "Back the way he came" would be 180 degrees, not 360.

  • is a very good instructor. Is perfect.

  • Great teaching dude!

Hope more teachers were like you!

  • Turning pins into throws is great for Randori, and Sankyo can give you some AIMING time to project your Uke into others. Uke train wreck. Heh.

    Peace.

  • Great application of Sankyo.

  • "sankyo" er...I mean, uh, you're welcome! hehehe...I never get tired of that joke...

  • Thank god you're an aikido instructor and not a comedian.

  • @bouncingboredom

"sankyo" = "thank you".. great... you made me giggle thnx :) gonna pass it on in my dojo heh :D
