I wish they would stop talking about game theory. I doubt Rousso has even read one thing by John Von Neumann (the father of modern game theory).  Game theory is really not applicable to full handed poker. Heads-up maybe but it's not really applicable to poker when you have a lot of people in a game.

Dan Harrington's books volumes 1 and 2 are basically the Bible for poker related game theory. While he doesn't use the actual term decision tree (a term from decision analysis, a branch of game theory), he shows his readers how to create one in the hand analysis section of vol 1. I say save $700, buy Harrington/Robertie volumes 1 and 2 for $50, get some nice lap dances at spearmint rhino while you're in vegas for the remaining $650.

Dan Harrington's books are *not* teaching game theory. Gamer theory is a formal mathematical methodology that can be applied to decision making with uncertainty, including poker.

While Action Dan teaches good solid game theory don't kid yourself, there is *plenty* to be learned by formally studying game theory and then applying it to the game of poker.

I suspect that you would learn a hell of a lot about deep thinking wrt poker using a very different method than offered by Harrington.

But that is a pretty lame argument. Rousso teaches true formal game theory, including biological GT as applied to poker theory. This is the real thing for those who *love* theory and mathematics.

Actually, I'll take some of my comments back. I wrote that comment long time ago but she did prove me wrong in 2009 National Heads Up Championship when she beat Phil Ivey, Doyle Brunson, Wasicka, Grospellier, Daniel Negreanu in heads up. It's not something I can do in my life. She has my respect now and I'll consider her one of top female poker players in the world. But still, I won't attend her lame class because there are better people to learn poker from.

But then again, reason why they don't play tournaments is because they can be making more money through cash games than playing tournaments for days where you're not even guaranteed to make anything. Why pay $695 to learn 2nd hand knowledge, when you can pay $20 and learn from a real master of game theory? John Von Neumann's book 'On the theory of parlour games' is the basic starting point for anyone trying to bring some game theory analysis into their poker game.

Ferguson is the only player who's really brought any semblance of proper game theory to the table, she simply hasn't.
