You should definitely make a new one of these. Some recent games are perfect for this, such as Mass Effect 2. The final boss can literally be defeated in ten seconds if you have the nuke gun and maxed out heavy weapons ammo.

@garrysmodmoviemaker1 I think that's intentional. You can upgrade as much as you want before going to the boss, but if you go too late, the prisoners die.

@algi80 I've found it is very easy to fully upgrade the Cain to 200 ammunition a long time before it comes to rescue the prisoners. And on normal (which is the difficulty he is playing all these games on), two hits will kill the Reaper fetus, and two hits take roughly ten seconds.

@garrysmodmoviemaker1 Really? Maybe I didn't pay enough attention to upgrading it when I was playing. Though somehow I wouldn't mind an easy boss in a Mass Effect game. I was totally relieved when I persuaded the sub boss in ME1 without fight.

@algi80 There are six ammo upgrades plus off hand ammo packs. This gives you exactly 200 ammo.

It was just an example, since it was one of the more memorable examples of an easily killable in thirty seconds boss in a recent game.

@USEYAHOO In dx2 there were 4 endings: help jc, help templars, help illuminati, kill all/omars win, only 'help jc' didn't involve killing jc and he was kind of a final boss in the other 3 endings.

and the game is quite ok, it just gets a lot of hate because in a deus ex franchise, an 'ok' isn't enough.

Your definition of boss is kind of off - A boss is only partly a construct of plot. The actual point is a final test. You aquire skills during the game and the boss tests these skills. It's there to make you feel awesome for having learned how to play the game.

The best part about that game was the physics engine: if you put enough things in a pile they would start interacting randomly until they started shooting out in random directions, possibly killing you. The objects there are highly interactable for such an old game, they are even affected by the same engine when they are in hand. More over, it features stealth, which is a good addition to game like this. Big dinosaurs can affect big objects.

Some of these boss battles were decent apart from the fact they were short although im fairly sure i remember jedi outcasts ending being in a cavern and Desaan was heaps hard to kill. Jedi Academy was like a walk in the park compared to Outcast.
