The only people that can buy a cash for clunker is a salvage yard. Parts can be sold for 6 months only. They cannot sell the vehicle or the engine.There is a ton of paperwork to follow these cars til they are destroyed.
I agree if the dealer backs out yes you have a chance to buy,But once the govt pays on a clunker it is salvage only and cannot be resold.Alot of dealers are getting paid now. I got in about 350 cars from dealers in 2 weeks that have been paid. Sad to say they wont be on the road again.

to be fair, the USA must reduce its fuel consumption. i say don't change the cars type i.e. pick ups and yummy mummy cars, change the technology, thats what we europeans are god at. we have diesel cars that can do 80mpg. we have superior cars!

The only people that can buy a cash for clunker is a salvage yard. Parts can be sold for 6 months only. They cannot sell the vehicle or the engine.There is a ton of paperwork to follow these cars til they are destroyed.

I agree if the dealer backs out yes you have a chance to buy,But once the govt pays on a clunker it is salvage only and cannot be resold.Alot of dealers are getting paid now. I got in about 350 cars from dealers in 2 weeks that have been paid. Sad to say they wont be on the road again.

I'm still waiting for someone to give me a good answer how it helps an economy for the government to pay people NOT to work for the last $4500 toward their new ride. Economies are built from people serving their fellow man. C4C pays them to NOT serve while punishing tax payers, who DID serve and now get nothing for it.
