  • Looks like 1 person couldn't do this.

  • @sharkkkk123 There is always one!!!! LOL

  • I just used this other night in my weekly game: definitely something I'd never done before.

  • @willystarr If you executed it well you probably left the defender looking for you!!!

  • @willystarr If you executed it well you probably left the defender looking for you!!!

  • thanks again

  • @RealPersianPrince It is our pleasure and thanks to you for your support.

  • Definitely impossible to stop if you execute it corectly, when is new video coming out?

  • @BazhoFromTheHood Thanks Bazho. we are working on getting another one out soon. We are presently working on our new APP which is taking a lot of our time.

  • long dribble is something i needed to know

  • @xthx24 That's good now let's go!

  • How do you spin like that Its hard for me to do it:(

  • @PianoByEar1110 Start slow and then build your speed when you start to get it down. You can do it!

  • you've shown many attacks. When would you use each. That is to say, In what situation should you use each attack.

Eg: In which situation would you use the 'flat-back dribble ATTACK'?

Please tell me in which situation you would use each of your attacks.

    1)Scissor Dribble ATTACK

    2) Flat-back dribble ATTACK

    3) Spin Dribble ATTACK

    4) Crossover dribble ATTACK

  • @TutorialsOnHow You use any of these Attacks on the defender when you see the opportunity. They should become apparent when you play. Then you would decide which move you want to make.

  • how to read the defender

  • @ShottScience not sure what you're asking...

  • Dear Tom,

You are making all of these videos for offense, what about defense?

People watch these videos . How do u defend these attack correctly?

  • @ndaughtry1 we've posted several defensive videos already, so make sure you check them out. As far as how to defend these moves, that's another story ;-) Get all the fundamentals down from our older defense videos and we'll be working on putting out some new stuff soon!

  • @ShotScience thnx i posted this when i couldn't find ur defense videos sorry lol but so yea bye

  • @ndaughtry1 no problem! At least you know they're there NOW! ;-)

  • i have to practice left hand dribbling!!

  • @xxcartman97xx That's very important. Actually practice both hands so you can go either way.

  • @ShotScience random question here i live on the end of the block and the street ends and you have to do a u turn to get out of there so what im wondering is like the surface goes down so what im trying to say its not a flat surface were the basketball goal is so like if i shoot there will it affect my shooting when i go to the gym and practice?

  • @lakersshowbarber24 No, not really. When you get on a regular floor there should be a short time for you to adapt and then your off going. Do not worry about this.

  • @lakersshowbarber24 another random question can shooting to close to my face cause me to miss?

  • @lakersshowbarber24 Possibly! We recommend that the ball be about 8-12" in front of your face line. This really helps the arc of the shot.

  • @ShotScience i have this problem but sometimes i dont shoot close to my face how can i change this or adapt to changing thanks

  • @lakersshowbarber24 Any changes that you want to make in your game has to be the result of many hours of PRACTICE, PRACTICE and more PRACTICE. No other way. Focus on what you want to change until it is executed like you want it to be and has become a matter of "MUSCLE MEMORY."

  • @ShotScience another random question here a couple days back my freind played someone one on one and iv'e notice that he used a variety of fake to get him off him because the guy he was going against was a good 2-3 inches tall can you name a variety of fakes like pau gasol and rajon rondos so i could study them thanks

  • @lakersshowbarber24 Well if you check out our channel you will find videos on shot fakes and we have another that we know you will like about ready to be posted.

  • @ShotScience ok thanks

  • When you spin, do you do it on your heels or toe?

  • @xyouheix It is best to spin on the ball of your foot. Check out the players in our video.

  • Love your breakdowns because you usually cover all the pertinent points. Here's a couple more that you missed: (1) on the spin dribble you don't switch hands because you leave the ball exposed at the instant that you initiate your spin & good defenders watch for this steal opportunity (2) know where the help defenders are to avoid spinning into a double team situation

Thanks for your great video work and the service you provide to young players.

  • @IBHookin43 Hey Rick, your are really mistaken on your first point. If you do not switch hands and get the ball out front of you, you will not be very successful and there is always tend possibility of the carry! We like your second comment as this is super important. You have to select your areas of attack before you spin.

  • @ShotScience You obviously didn't understand my comment on point 1). I'm not say you don't switch hands after the spin, I'm saying you don't switch hands at the point of the spin. In other words, you pull the ball into the spin with the same hand, then switch hands as you come out of the spin..just like your video shows. My points is you need to emphasize this point. Too many players switch hands just before the pivot.

  • @IBHookin43 Ok rick, now we got ti. You are correct on this and it is a common mistake.

  • this gotta be the hardest move that i know cuz when i do this sometimes i travel or carry but i see where to place my feet at now so its much easier

  • @pnoifr3sh It can be difficult to execute in the beginning, but it also can be a real difficult one to stop.

  • I just started watching ur videos and the explanations make sense thank u

  • @akinlolu23 We are so glad that you find them useful. Stay tuned for many more.

  • Thanks alot ShotScience. You actually helped me alot. Please keep on making more videos ^^

  • @TheMauroof Thanks so much for your comment. This is what makes it fun for us. We intend to keep making more videos. Please help us out by "Spreading the Word."

  • Coach I can't understand what north south means?

  • @iBlobs23 North - South refers to going in the direction of the baskets and not sideline to sideline which we refer to as "East and West." We use this term when speaking about our Attacks. We attack North-South so we get the quickest route to the basket.

  • @ShotScience I see that makes sense.. If i got east and west the defender will just go in front of me.. tnx coach

  • @iBlobs23 Now you got it!! It is meant to make sense and make you a load to defend.

  • Thank you --- Sent From ShotScience's AppRats (Facebook App)!

  • @bommysri Your very welcome.

  • You are better than my trainer!!! xD

  • @EzioAuditoredaStefan Thanks, but we bet he has some strengths as well.

  • Thanks so much ShotScience. You should have your own TV show.

  • @PranksRUsCorporation Thanks so much, but is this a "Prank?" ;-)

  • Im going to try-out for basketball next year. Im in 6th grade. What moves should I learn to have a better chance in succeeding in being in the basketball team. Thanks

  • @PranksRUsCorporation What is important at your age is to work on your handles, your shooting and play with great intensity. The moves can come along as you develop your game.

  • Comment removed

  • @mless12 We would recommend at least 20 per day.

  • Ummmmm Isnt this kinda of a carry wheneve i did it my freinds said it was a carry..

  • @JayBryant27 If you execute the dribble as we have demonstrated it IS NOT A CARRY!

  • I tried to this move to one of my friends but when i spun he was on my way so i had to back off

I was running parallel to the back board so does that mean that he couldnt catch up to me and i shouldve gone straight?

  • @cooerteee: We can't know exactly what happend to you, but this move and all of the others take a lot of practice before we can execute them against other players. When you spin you want to finish going at the basket. If you go parallel they can cut you off!

  • @cooerteee make sure your lead foot, which will be the first foot that lands after the spin is pointing to the rim, that judges where you're going to go,

  • @UnF0cuS Good call!

  • Comment removed

  • These dribbles are nice, but I got one problem that my left hand can't dribble as good as my right hand, although I did the same practice with both hand. Hope you can do some videos about this

  • @wozhendeaa we have! Check out "Dribbling 101." Your off hand will need more work than your strong hand. That's just the way it is until you bring them up to the same level. Thanks for watching!

  • i done this in post a couple times like how pau gasol does it, most of the time i dont make the shot

  • @SoFreshBlaze: You really have to work a lot on any move for it to become an effective move. Dwayne Wade used this very move in the Heat's game on Tuesday for an easy score. Just continue to work on it until it feels pretty good.

  • hey shotscience can you give me a couple of tips because i've been playing basketball for almost 2 years and im 14 and i havent played for a leauge in over a year and im doing a summer leauge and this is my second time playing for a leauge and im kinda nervous and evaluations are tommorow can you give me a couple of tips?

also: your videos are a great great help for me and im teaching my friends too this helpful stuff and showing them the videos and thank you

  • @mosquerak13: O.K., our first words of hel;p for you would be "Do only what you know you can do; Don not try to be too flashy; Play as hard as you can and be the first person in line for all drills." Coaches love guys who display these attributes. Good luck and let us know what happens. Thanks for your support with your friends. We love having players look to us for our ideas.

  • @ShotScience Thank you very much you guys are very helpful and an inspiration to me and my friends and ill let you know what happens tommorow

  • @mosquerak13: Remember, these types of moves have to be worked on for a while to become effective. It may take a couple of weeks before you can really go by people.

  • @ShotScience Yeah thats true lol in 2 hours i gotta go to evaluations

  • @mosquerak13: Just do what you know you can do well and do not try to "IMPRESS" AS THIS MIGHT BE YOUR UNDOING.

  • @ShotScience wow we waited for 2 hours and all we did is a left and right handed layup and 2 shots and i made everything exept a shot

  • @mosquerak13: How many guys were trying out? It would seem like there was a bunch.

  • @ShotScience well yea u got a point there there was a lot but i impressed them

  • @mosquerak13: We have our fingers crossed for you. Let us know how it goes for you. We are rooting for you to be a member of this team.

  • @ShotScience will do and thank you

  • @mosquerak13: You are very welcome.

  • shot science helped me alot today thanks now i have to use my attacks in the aau tornement

  • @NikeBoy39: Well, we hope that you can use them. It usually takes several weeks to really get them down so the are effective. Good luck and let us know how it goes.

  • scienceshot is the best! thanks for posting this

  • @GODsoccersk8football: We are really pleased that you like our video. Hopefully, you like all the others as well. THANKS!!!!!

  • @ShotScience I do, I have actually seen quite a few, and they've been helpful. since childhood I've always played soccer, but now I've gotten into basketball, so i need some tutorial to understand and perform better in basketball, and your videos have been really helpful, professional and fun. thanks!

  • @GODsoccersk8football: Glad you like our videos. Let them be the guide to your growth as a player. Let us know when you think we can help you out. Thanks for you very nice comment>

  • @GODsoccersk8football shotscience

  • hey everyone from shot science! the videos really help and are very informative! bravo. i am currently working on my dribble and handling. how can i increase my speed and quickness out of a move? i find myself very slow! please help!

  • @DaGeneralPMC; Well, this may seem strange, but we have found that our Vertical Jump students develop real nice explosiveness as well as improving their vertical. We have one freshman who has become really explosive and we are sure that it is because of the vertical last fall. Thanks for your nice words. We really appreciate them so much. Please stay tuend for more and "Spread the Word."

  • would it be a travel if you spin then you do a layup?

  • @doodlehead94: If the foot work is correct, no!

  • @ShotScience can you dribble after this move

  • @Windowseventutorials ; You may spin and continue your dribble to get to the hoop if that's where you are going.

  • @ShotScience : can you make a vid.. about. how to make your vertical jump higher.

  • @gian100593ichiruki: You have not been following SS close enough. We posted two videos on the Vertical Jump in February as well as a Handbook giving you a program for three months. You can purchase the Handbook for $4.99. It's a deal.

  • it is very useful but difficult for beginner as well..

how many degree should we spin for?

I found that the ball always leaves my hand before I have finished the spinning body movement

  • @sunnylovehk: Well, we know you can develop a good spin dribble. It is all about practice and learning to control the ball. Go back and review the video and take a few notes on key items for your practice. It truly is a "Killer Attack."

  • well, the people dont even play defense!!!

  • @JulieAnnWeeks it's a demonstration...

  • @JulieAnnWeeks: Well, you are correct. This is for demonstration only so that you can understand the execution. If you go to Chase Curtiss Highlights videos you can see him executer these in his college games.

  • Spin Dribble a.k.a SMOOVE MOVE!!

  • @sniperrifle9: Okay! We'll buy that!

  • I tried this in a game and the people said CARRY! Thats not carry is it??

  • @Shezi270: If you did the move as it is done in the video it is NOT A CARRY! If your hand goes under the ball on the reverse dribble it is most certainly a carry. Go back to the video and check it out. This is truly a "KILLER MOVE" and almost impossible to defend if executed properly.

  • @ShotScience do you know when the hesitation & the in & out are coming out

  • @MrJErkTWirk: We are working on them. There is so much we are trying to get done and do our daily jobs that we are slower than we would like to be. Thanks for your patience.

  • great video, I really like using this move, thanks!

  • @MrPhotoshop997 thanks so much!! It's a tough one to defend!!

  • I got a killer fast break score using this move on a guy.

  • @tkwtg: "INDEFENSIBLE" One -on-One, If it is properly executed. Great to hear that it worked for you!

  • C.O.D = Call Of Duty!!!

  • @dkldskj87: Naw! Change of Direction dribble!

  • wow your videos are really helpful :) could you tell me the cautions so I won't do a traveling thanks.

  • @sanjiblue1: Probably the main caution here is to "NOT ALLOW THE DRIBBLE HAND TO go under the ball for a carry." This is the main problem on this move.

  • @ShotScience: Thanks! I did this awhile ago but I did do travel when I did this but I'll be careful next time :)

  • @sanjiblue1: JUST WORK ON IT UNTIL YOU GET IT WORKIN FOR YOU. AWESOME MOVE.

  • Kool, how about a tutorial of the hop step

  • @gchirs941: We will take this into consideration. Thanks for your suggestion.

  • Thanks so much for ALL your videos. Cery detailed and simple. I found these videos so helpful. I have lots if work to do on mt ball handling. But i was wondering if u had any advice for postups, such as positioning, and the proper way to backdown, and protect the ball from being stolen while doing that.

  • @gchirs941: Well, funny that you should ask! We will have our first Low Post Video up tonight or tomorrow. Check it out!

  • How can I improve my ability to hold the ball while I do the spin attack move?

I cant seem to do this move because the ball fell out of my hand before I even tried to spin my body. Some tip for me please.

  • @byebyebyezzz: Tip #1, go back to the video and review it several times; watch the execution over and over. We cannot offer tips because we have no idea what you are doing. You can send us a video and we will analyze it for you, otherwise you will have to figure it out for yourself.

  • How can i improve dribblin wid ma weeker hand?

  • @TheJunaid14: Well, the answer here is very simple! You have to spend a lot of time on that hand! When we avoid working on the weak hand it cripples our offensive ability. It should only take a few weeks to get that hand working for you, but only if you work it really hard!!! Let us know how your handles develop.

  • dang this is nice.

i think it will be great if use hammer on too :D

  • @xgedokid1412: YOU ARE "RIGHT ON THE MONEY WITH THIS."

  • this means a subscription from me.

  • @whateverwhenever11: Thanks so much for your sub. We hope you find our other videos to be useful as well. Thanks again.

  • yehey

  • one of my favorite moves in my point guard arsenal, even the greats like grayson bouche "the professor" uses this exact spin, followed by a crossover

    love the videos

  • @mr3pointspecialist24: Hey Ryan, thanks so much for your comment. We appreciate it very much. BTW, please "Spread the Word."

  • just becareful that a double team isnt coming because you are blind from the defense for a second, so know where the defense is at all times because a defender can sneak up the other way and cause you an offensive foul. so know when to use that move

  • @ndnplaya36: Great comment! This is the one difficulty to this move, however, you can avoid a problem by creating some space to begin with or checking the defensive location first. Thanks for your comment.

  • the only bad thing about this is that you dont see your teamates and defense for a moment, but still this move is realle well shown in this video

  • @gggman15: You are absolutely correct on this comment. It is important to check out the defenders help defense before you execute. It is an incredible move to beat the defender, especially if you set the move up before you execute.

  • C.O.D- Call Of Duty!

  • @mark51397: That too!!!!

  • Hey Shot Science, How can u proform a successful Fade-Away

  • @SAMSIDE4ever: Probably do a lot of practicing on the shot!

  • 0:49 Do the eight dribble lower

  • @Aerochalklate: That works!

  • Hi coach.... I need to ask you something not related with this vid. Since you haven't uploaded any videos on passing yet, I just want to ask... how should i throw a lob pass to a teammate who is being fronted by his defender in the post? How can I accurately pass the ball so that his defender won't be able to reach the ball and at the same time, my team mate can catch it in his sweet spot which is under the basket. Hope you can help me. thanks

  • @MARKSMAN2318: We will soon have a video on passing. Stay tuned.

  • @MARKSMAN2318 you know how a defender raises his hands up , well theres a space right by his ear and raised arm that if you pass through it he cant react fast enough to touch it either that or a pump fake to get him in the air then u jump when he lands and pass it over his head

  • @oosya42 Thanks, man. Will try this.

  • @ShotScience hey i have a question. i am in 6th grade and and some kids make fun of my shot. they say i hold the ball too high. my dad says its fine but im not shure. could you make a video about a basic shot , where to hold the ball, raiseing the ball, etc. thx for the other tips!

  • @IAMQwiiKz: Hey, IAM, these videos already exist in our YT library. Go check them out.

  • thx coach! at practice when we do discrimage, I will use this move.

  • @Aerochalklate: It can be really effective and in fact pretty much in-defensible if properly executed. BTW, thanks for your comment.

  • can you show a video on how to be able to layup on both hands? like being ambidextrous

  • @zeruvirix: The layup is the same for either hand and you should be use to use either one in a game situation. It is all about practice on the weak hand. There is no mystery that might require a video just for the off hand. Lets get busy!

  • Alright Cheif, have been practicing these for weeks now, and have been incoperating them into small 1v1, 2v2 or 3v3 games. However, what I find is when I move to full court 5v5 with the intense pace the game moves at, I struggle to get the moves off in the much tighter space avaliable. Do you have any tips on these sort of situations?

    Cheers.

  • @MrSteakBakes; Well, yes! Continue to work on the moves and begin to challenge yourself in those smaller situations where it it tight. It is a learning process, just like all of the other parts of the game.

  • Hey coach. While playing a game I sprained my knee, now the treatment is finished. But still, the knee remains quite unstable and weak. What exercises should I do to make it stronger and more stable? I'm 5'7'' and would like to get quicker and more agile rather than gaining vertical. Thank you for all your tips!

  • @Memejuto: Please pose this question to Chase Curtiss on his site. There is a link on our site. This is Chase's professional field.

  • Hey coach im really really short (im like 5' even) im 15 in the 10th grade do i handle the ball really well but do you have any tips on finishing around the rim against people that are 6' 9"? and any tips on being a better passer and run point guard better? PLEASE REPLY!! :D

  • @MrELuvly: Check out our "Finishes at the Rim" video for some really good ideas on how to beat the bigs.

  • very nice ive been wanting to add the tony parker spin move to my game thanks

  • @thecocks04: Glad we could help. Le tus know how it develops for you.

  • Hi coach, im in 8th grade in middle school and right now im on a brake. Ever since the winter brake started ive woken up 6:30 am and then ive gone to a basketball gym and worked on my game. But now the gym is closed for a week (I live in sweden and there aren't any other gym's open) but i still want to work on my game. Can you give me some tips on how to work on my game without any acess to a basketball gym? I'd really a appreciate an answer.

Btw i can play outside cuz it's snowing.

  • @Streeetball3r: Do you have a garage at your home? You can work on your handles while the gym is closed. Be creative.

  • @ShotScience No I live in an apartment

  • @Streeetball3r: We are sorry, we have no other suggestions for you in your country. As stated before, get creative and find your own solution. Talk to other people (Network). Others may have ideas that you did not think of.

  • belated happy new year coach...and to all shotscience...keep on ... spreading the word

  • @exchamelot: Thanks Richard, we plan to continue. Please stay tuned and "Spread the Word."

  • Unrelated to this, is there Any videos about floaters that u might have?
