this maybe a stupid question, i don't know, but do you not have your power-cables underground in the states? i imagine that would help with the problem of electrocution during/after hurricanes ?
We're tracking at an annualized rate for strong earthquakes at over 3X the average. What is going on? ...Google and read "six strong earthquakes within six days - another expected"
Three earthquakes have been predicted in the last month and they've all come true. The author now predicts the next earthquake to happen within the next 2 weeks. Google and read "Vancouver Island Earthquake Was Predicted Last Week and Here's Another Prediction".
@NoSeedsNoStems420 THUMBS UP.....HOW BOUT SHUT UP WITH ALL THE THUMBS UP BULLSHIT. OH AND BY THE WAY HURRICANE IRENE IS NOTHING COMPARED TO KATRINA....KEEP BELIEVING THE MEDIA HYPE. CAPS LOCK FUCK YOU!
But seriously, how did they identify the bodies? I mean don't nigg... "black people" all look the same? It's like telling a one chimp from another - kinda hard for a normal human being, huh? ;)
@Immakingadifference2 Are you implying that black people aren't "normal" human beings? What is "normal"? I happen to be black, by the way. I hope you're just joking around instead of being some stupid, stereotypical, racist, or something. Does anyone apart of the same race look exactly the same? No. Otherwise you'd see people apart of different races walking down the street looking exactly the same. Huh? ;)
Thank You, Katrina, for clearing the nigs out of New Orleans, but you didnt get them all. Cant have everything, I guess. But its a much better city now. Houston sucks though, all those welfare grabbers moved to Houston.
I like America but the thing i dont like is after this hurricane the government left you to fend for yourself. We had a cat 5 cyclone (Cyclone Yasi) here in Australia at the start of 2011 ,but within weeks the city was cleaned up and government was fixing houses. But yeah these hurricane/cyclones are full on and destroy everything
A real TEOTWAWKI situation if there ever was one. Between a hurricane like katrina and an earthquake and tsunami like what happened in japan I cannot imagine anything much worse happening (except for a mass nuclear missile exchange in a time of war).
I was in Chalmette for Katrina, I walked to Denham Springs, well not all the way, some very nice people picked myself and my friends up and dropped us off. But it's so horrible to see this and relive it.
@wow1022 Yes, Rita and Gustav both hit Louisiana much harder. I was in Central Louiiana for Katrina and we didn't get a drop of rain. Just a nice breeze and some overcast skies. Rita got us ok but hit west of us much worse. Gustav popped us pretty hard. It cut straight up the middle of the state.
wow this was really sad everyone was needed for help but most wasnt able to get help right away some not even at all so god bless america that we are alive to this very day this had frightened me a bit cuz my bro kept sayin 2012 is gonna come and kill us so that got me a little bit paraonoid cuz u dont no wat could happen today or tomorrow thats why u gotta live everyday like its your last......
Slidell? Bah. I mean yeah it was bad there and all but you should have been in Waveland/Bay St Louis, MS. Then again, you wouldn't be here now if you had. Still, Slidell did have it far worse than New Orleans, who got all the media coverage due to the animalistic behavior of the blacks there... so the residents of Slidell have nearly as much right to be as pissed off as Mississippians.
@environmentalist1234 well the truth is that i kinda agree wit u but u wasnt gonna see towers falling they cant show it all so they show the not bad?sad or grusome part like if pepl fall or get pulled up into it so they make clips but i still agree with u though, somwat, i think.........

@ZenyattaRaceHorse i feel what you are trying to say!!! BUT shelters do not allow dogs or animals there. Most folks were rescued by helicopters and boats and had SECONDS to think. the TOWN failed them by not demanding people to evacuate. Remember the dome that got destroyed, that was an evacuation center too.
People NEED to always monitor the Atlantic for these storms. don't wait until gov or media tells you. Weather maps are at your fingers 24/7. this has been going on for hundreds of years...
@rmpbklyn ya i know that is why they made the PETS law where in a case of a disaster the pets can be allowed to go to shelters but when some of the owners left their pets in schools and trusted officers to care for them the officers killed the pets they shot them and left them one dog was shot in the head while running up stairs to get away and another was watching over the dead bodies of other dogs like he was protecting them

I live on long island, if we are ever forced to evacuate, were screwed! this place cant handle a godamn airshow much less a hurricane. The 3 lane hiways cant support normal traffic flow at 6pm and since everyone and their dog has 3 cars and SUVs, everyone will try to save their vehicles by putting the wife in one, husbband in the other, and teenage son in the last. Greed is going to be the death of us here.
@FriutloopTom your right man... natural selection? lol When I lived on the coast we always left really early to avoid stuff like that. Some people head to other coastal area's but we always headed north lol.
I was aborn and raised in Slidell, LA and spent the first 25 years of my life their till Hurricane Katrina riped me and my family from their. I am now living in poverty as a result of Katrina in Dallas, TX. I miss my friends, and family who were a victim of the storm. I miss my life prior to Katrina. To say Katrina was "God's cleansing" on the NOLA Metro area; is a complete disrespect to me, my family, and friends. The God I know is a God of extravagant grace and love.
New Orleans was a sewer before Katrina and remains so, just like the Haitians and their earthquake. Why does it take an a natural disaster to expose the dark underbelly of people who depend on others to do what they're too stupid or lazy to do for themselves? Sorry, but I've expended enough compassion on things that will never change no matter how much money you throw at it.
@dyad2r1 To be stupid is one thing, but to be ignorant is completely different. To be willfully ignorant is even worse. It will be easy for you to believe that natural disasters are a sort of punishment or that the people who suffer through them deserve that kind of hell...it will be easy for you to believe that until a natural disaster destroys your home, family, job, life, etc. Shame on you for saying something so foolish.
I NEED HELP FINDING A PARTICULAR HURRICANE VIDEO, I DONT REMEMBER THE NAME OF THE HURRICANE BUT IM SURE IT HAD A MALE NAME. THERE WERE 2 CHASERS IN A 4WD, THEY WERE IN A SMALL NEIGHBOURHOOD WITH HOUSES ON THE RIGHT & A SMALL FIELD TO THEIR LEFT, ABOUT THE SIZE OF A SOCCER FIELD & THERE WAS SHEET METAL & DEBRIS BLOWING DOWN THE FIELD, THEY MENTION THE WIND WAS ABOUT 100MPH COMING STRAIGHT AT THEM, THE WIND WAS BLOWING FROM RIGHT TO LEFT & THE CLOUDS WERE MOVING RIGHT TO LEFT VERY FAST,

a major city, dont mean it less important. we still today havent reovered those little towns. most of them cant be repaired. the wild life and crops sufferd a big loss
dont get me wrong. this was a bad storm. i live 2 hrs west of new orleans and we got it pretty bad. the thing that gets me most is no one talks about hurrican rita. that on was just as bad and hit were i live. had 30 feet of standing water. took out little towns and offshore docks. i had to stay for it cause i work with the sheriffs off here. and no one that lived in the marsh left. we had to bail them out during the storm. way worse condition than katrina. just because rita didnt tear up
Hurricane Katrina didn't make landfall in Slidell, La. It made landfall just south of Buras, La at Fort Jackson, an old military fort & the area where the Orange Festival is held. I used to live on a houseboat that was moored at Fort Jackson, just south of Buras, La & went to school at Buras High w/cousins & friends from Buras and Triumph.
Ya know, having lived abroad for a long time and then returning to the U.S., it is apparent that Americans, especially minorities, are always waiting for the Gov. to do everything for them...
The question I still ask to this day is, what in the world kept all those people from evacuating before the storm hit? Are you telling me you didn't have a car? Couldn't rent one? Couldn't STEAL one? Couldn't WALK OUT? Are people so INEPT that they can't save THEIR OWN LIVES instead of waiting for the Gov.?
if we cud have made it 2 any exuts n da city r on any hwy we wud have walked 2 whereva 2getout dat shit...we were stuck there 4 five dayz....worst expireince ever........ :(
I know its a really random question but do Birds migrate before storms hit. Do they know its coming and go elsewhere because I'm sitting here thinking there was no hope for the Birds if they were still in the trees.
On another Topic I hope the city increases its Boats etc dnt know if it would help but I'm assuming @ times like this getting people in large boats that might be docked might be a good idea. Just a thought. Don't blast me loool
@Baudilaire I don't know actually about the birds :o I mean, they say dogs notice when there's an earthquake coming up so maybe birds know when there's a storm coming up :] hehe! But though they say when birds are quiet and fly low to the ground, there's a chance that it's gonna rain ;p But to your question: I have no frigging idea :/
Clinton would of been the best President he would of been there before hurricane came stood of the docks with his trousers around his ankles going hey Katrina suck this were George bush was still watching t.v 3 days after saying should we do something about this
Yeah sure and the city would have still been destroyed so what fuckin difference does it make? You think the President of the US is gonna scare off a hurricane or something? Retards.
Used to ship Papermaking machinery parts to mills in and around Slidell, hard to imagine the devastation. Turns out I spent 5 weeks in Longview, Tx. and Shreveport, La., weeks after Katrina as Railroaders scrambled to save their families. I and others Volunteered to come on down to help the Railroad keep Commodities on the move.....the folks were marvelous, the work was Hot and of long duration. No matter, I learned a great deal about the People, Geography and History of Southern living.....af
What the fuck are they laughing about. Looks like they're having fun, and there is nothing fun or funny about it. Next time it wont be so damn funny after you shit heads see how desistating this is.
btw err video or pic i see i still feel bad bcuz i put myself in these peoples shoes i mean people walked by lots of other people that were dying or already dead and the government is the one who i held responsible and still do!
NOT GOOD!

Sorry, but I've expended enough compassion on things that will never change no matter how much money you throw at it.
dyad2r1 1 year ago
@dyad2r1 To be stupid is one thing, but to be ignorant is completely different. To be willfully ignorant is even worse. It will be easy for you to believe that natural disasters are a sort of punishment or that the people who suffer through them deserve that kind of hell...it will be easy for you to believe that until a natural disaster destroys your home, family, job, life, etc. Shame on you for saying something so foolish.

dont get me wrong. this was a bad storm. i live 2 hrs west of new orleans and we got it pretty bad. the thing that gets me most is no one talks about hurrican rita. that on was just as bad and hit were i live. had 30 feet of standing water. took out little towns and offshore docks. i had to stay for it cause i work with the sheriffs off here. and no one that lived in the marsh left. we had to bail them out during the storm. way worse condition than katrina. just because rita didnt tear up

I know its a really random question but do Birds migrate before storms hit. Do they know its coming and go elsewhere because I'm sitting here thinking there was no hope for the Birds if they were still in the trees.
On another Topic I hope the city increases its Boats etc dnt know if it would help but I'm assuming @ times like this getting people in large boats that might be docked might be a good idea. Just a thought. Don't blast me loool
Baudilaire 1 year ago
@Baudilaire I don't know actually about the birds :o I mean, they say dogs notice when there's an earthquake coming up so maybe birds know when there's a storm coming up :] hehe! But though they say when birds are quiet and fly low to the ground, there's a chance that it's gonna rain ;p But to your question: I have no frigging idea :/

Clinton would of been the best President he would of been there before hurricane came stood of the docks with his trousers around his ankles going hey Katrina suck this were George bush was still watching t.v 3 days after saying should we do something about this
AHmusicandcomedy 1 year ago
