Kaplan University scammed me as well. I was a student there for almost 2 years and was on the Dean's list for the majority of my time there. I loved it. Towards the end of my degree plan, someone automatically signed me up for my last few classes (which I was going to wait to take). I was blocked from them and then charged for them. I was unable to get in touch with anyone from the financial aid dept. and eventually my "unpaid judgement" was sent to a collection agency.

My friend went to the CIA, Culinary Institute of America in New York. He got a $80k 2- year degree and then went to work as a cook in Las Vegas at the Wynn Resort. He just made mashed potatoes for the first year, but then he was offered a sous chef position at a restaurant in another state and is doing well.

On the other hand my girlfriend has a degree in bookkeeping and she can't get a job period, especially in her field. College is for networking, not the worthless piece of paper and debt.
