  • I have that exact clay tea pot (the brown one), I love it!

  • It's going to become much to bitter and acidic to drink, sitting for ten minutes with water at 90º to 100º C ! ! !

Should be around 75º to 80º C and just a minute or so to be enjoyable...

  • @Peekingduck Haha, note that she says "for health benefit purposes". Perhaps higher temperature is better if you don't care about the taste? :D

  • @Kaminix

    Actually it's rather the opposite.

It makes the tea really acidic...

    :)

  • I know that, but 90 degrees Celsius is too hot for green tea / sencha... the bester the tea, the lower the temp. I prefer 70-75 for Standard sencha. br

  • 10 Minutes is too long.2 or 3 minutes should be enough.

  • Infuse for 10 mins? Are you crazy o_O' That tea will taste like shite...

  • 70°C!!!not 90 to 100. wtf?

  • Don't poor boiling water on green tea!!!

That is so wrong for so many reasons!!!

  • Holy crap this is super wrong

  • i have that same tea cup, thats rad

  • I think 80 Celsius is just fine.

What is very healthy is to drop 5 to 10 leaves in the water barrel.

When empty fill it again w water and leaves and so on.

  • yeah like im gonna stick a thermostat in my kettle to measure the temperature!

  • 60-70 degrees is perfect for shincha or high-quality sencha. anyway, if the temp. is btw 90-100 degrees, it will become bitter.. w/ 100 ° your'll "burn" the tea (the leaves). it must infuse between 1-3 minutes (it depends of the sencha's quality).

  • The best matcha ever is purematcha . com but you can get it cheaper on ebay, just search pure matcha....

  • 65 to 85°C!!

  • how many sencha must take for 200ml??

  • Thx u

  • OMG 90-100C for 10minutes? no way... Oo

  • maybe she meant fahrenheit..

  • 90-100 Celsius. Bullshit!

In case of green teas 65-75 Celsius.

  • Unbelievable. between 90 & 100 C ... this is so wrong ... totally wrong.

  • well it is wrong, too hot and 10 minutes infusion is also ridiculous, BUT this is not they tradicional way, its how to get the most benefits

  • I think that the low temperature (for example 70C for sencha) guarantees more benefits. Also you can make 3 or 4 or more infusions at low temp, so the good benefits are guaranteeed also. The japanese sencha or Gyokuro are very tender. Try and you will see but take it directly from Japan to be sure that the tea is grown there and it is produced and stored in the proper way. But if you steep other kinf of tea (non japanese) .. ofcource feel free to prepare it at any high temperature.

  • @wjSteam maybe they mean fareheit cuz celcius is just too crazy

  • @Calpico852 Unfortunately they say in this video very clearly: 90 - 100 degree Celsius.

  • 90-100 is WAY too hot, 10 minutes is WAY too long.

    What a ridiculous video.

  • hahahah dude, i know

    its probably fahrenheit.

  • it said celsius...which is boiling point...? yah toooo hot.

  • Does roasted green tea provide the same health-benefits as non roasted organic green tea?

  • What?! Ten minutes??? That's too long! Usually it's 30 seconds to a minute! And the temperature of water should be around 80C - 95C, depending on the kind of tea.

  • ahhh im sipping on sencha right now, music and tea is relaxing me something dierce right now. ahhhhh ^_^

  • 90-100°C ?? Why that ? isnt that to high?

  • yes it is too hot, around 70°C is what is usualy used.

  • only around boiling point but the steeping process takes a few minuets. that gives it time to cool down

  • @coon2086 lol the water boils at 100 degrees Celsius ;) so that would be right. as soon as it boils, you should pour it to the teapot ;)

  • Because someone asked: The music is "Sayonara, Hikaru" by Megu Wakakusa, from the "Hikaru no Go" anime soundtrack. I got introduced to the ancient board game Go through Hikaru no Go, so I recognized the music immediately...

  • Really 10 mins? Why is it better to steep for 10 mins then 2 mins for health benifits?

  • theoriticaly 10 mins allows a complete extraction of the active components, but it all depends on the quality of the tea. Some tea in Japan give around 200 mg of catechins after only 2 "quick" infusion of 45 sec to 1 min each

  • beautiful from start to finish.

  • This tea was carefully selected by Ms. R. Uchiyama. This tea has the highest concentration of polyphenols of those in our collection.

This second harvest tea is of a very high quality, and of a very mild taste.

Even after an infusion time of 10 minutes (5g in a 250ml hot water, recommended by doctors for cancer patients) it does not become too bitter. It is an ideal medicinal tea that can be enjoyed on a daily basis.

I call this LADY TEA, gentle and elegant.

  • On the package the also recommend 2 minutes. But here they are preparing tea for health, i.e. therapeutic, benefits as is also indicated on the package and on their web site. This 2nd harvest is not supposed to become bitter. See their web page.

  • I REALLY REALLY LIKE your backound music, can you please tell me who is the composer and what is the name of the piece?

    Thank you :-)

  • Very nice video. So graceful. I love my organic sencha green tea, and drink it every morning and when I come home from work. Very satisfying. Thanks for sharing your cup. ZM7

  • i've never heard of sencha being infused for TEN minutes! that's way too long, no?

  • Your are right. It is too long, the time for the first infusion is 1 - 2 min.

  • I've also learned that you should usually let green tea steep for 2 minutes. If it is steeped any longer, it can turn bitter. However, more antioxidants (beneficial molecules that prevent cell damage) are released into the tea when it is steeped for a longer time.

  • I put another instruction for Sencha brewing on the video response.

I made it in very practical way.

  • Hmmmmmm interesting 250 milimeter water of about 9 to 100 degrees C... Al Gore would like that... we don't have to heat-up the water anymore.
