I saw the 1988 Trans-Am race at Mid-Ohio in person. It rained the entire race. Stuck won, but coming off of a caution with 10 laps to go, Hurley Haywood put in the drive of the day. As the field took the green, he was just exiting the pits a quarter lap behind everyone. When the race ended, he finished 3rd. The Audis could gain 2-4 car lengths on every competitor in every corner in the rain. It was cold and dreary that day, but a GREAT day to cheer on Audi!
