Yeah we did Judo and all that when we were kids. We used to scrap in the streets and knock each other about no end. You live and learn as you grow up. 8 year olds under that much pressure? Nah. I'd look after my kids but i'd let them make their own mistakes sometimes and learn a little. Let them fall out of the tree, graze their knees, fall in love and not tell them "I TOLD YOU SO". Cos that's how you grow up. Spotlights and shouting isn't part of that.
I wouldn't see much of a problem in this as I don't see it as any worse than any other king of martial arts, but there shouldn't be people paying to watch this, but if the kids are adamant that this is what they want to do, who are we to stop them?

they aren't striking, so its not illegal, but I know for a fact that arm bars 0:25 are banned in Judo until the joints and limbs have stopped growing, at around 15/16 years old. I would have thought it was the same for jiu-jitsu too. So on that fact alone I would not condone this.
I get that these kids are "just doing Jujitsu" hence the fact theres no head gear or gloves. Jeeze can't believe how much people are over reacting at this. When I was a kid i did taekwondo, and there was tournaments. Head gear and body armour was worn, but all this meant was that you could throw punches and kicks. I saw kids with bloody noses and all sorts, nobody seemed bothered. This is no where near as bad!

Yeah we did Judo and all that when we were kids. We used to scrap in the streets and knock each other about no end. You live and learn as you grow up. 8 year olds under that much pressure? Nah. I'd look after my kids but i'd let them make their own mistakes sometimes and learn a little. Let them fall out of the tree, graze their knees, fall in love and not tell them "I TOLD YOU SO". Cos that's how you grow up. Spotlights and shouting isn't part of that.

they aren't striking, so its not illegal, but I know for a fact that arm bars 0:25 are banned in Judo until the joints and limbs have stopped growing, at around 15/16 years old. I would have thought it was the same for jiu-jitsu too. So on that fact alone I would not condone this.

Thousands of kids do this or even worse in their back yards or hell even in schools in an uncontrolled environment, this is being done in a controlled environment were the chances of getting hurt are minimal.

What a dumb comment. All they were doing is Jiu Jitsu and wrestling. Amateur wrestling is one of the most popular sports in america and what you just witnessed in this video happens EVERYDAY at practice after school from the ages of 8-18 for millions of boys.
Just because its in a cage doesn't make it any more "dangerous". The cage is there to get upcoming MMA fighters used to fighting in the octogon which will be of great benefit if they wish to pursue an athletic career.

Jeeze can't believe how much people are over reacting at this. When I was a kid i did taekwondo, and there was tournaments. Head gear and body armour was worn, but all this meant was that you could throw punches and kicks. I saw kids with bloody noses and all sorts, nobody seemed bothered. This is no where near as bad!
