  • Hello very impressed with your virtual Beam Engine.

I have just picked up a box of parts for an M E Beam Engine, which looks the same as your animation.

On assembling some of the parts, the beam on mine hits the main upright, just wondered as yours looks like it has been input from drawings. could I ask one big favour.

What height is the main pivot on the beqm from top of column?

Ive had a small go at Solid works, but as I am more used to Autocad, I am finding it somewhat diffcult.

  • excellent man....it really helped me in my studies

  • I am IMPRESSED!

  • I have similar problems when there are many multiple mates and parts involved - usually it's just a matter of suppressing one key mate and then un-suppressing it and it seems to work. Unfortunately saving it after that and expecting it to work the next time never seems to happen!

  • I am building something similar also in solidworks but I seem to be running into a binding issue when applying mates to the parallel links. Did you have any such problems?
