I think tobi is, Kagami uchiha (search him up) he's an uchiha who was on tobiramas team (2nd hokage) Which might explain the tobi name. And he has messy hair like tobi and when we saw tobis half face in the manga we saw he was very old (being in Tobiramas team he would be old) and maybe hes doing these evil things cause hes survived three wars? you see what war did to itachi well times that by 3. And tobirama was skilled in Space ninjutsu so maybe he learned from him, ye its just a guess :)

i feel tobi is obito not because of the name but because of what kakashi said about how every uchiha eye is different. kakashi has obito's eye and the eyes ability is similar to what tobi's eyes can do. tobi could of easily taken another uchiha's eyes to replace the one he was missing from gibing to kakashi. I also believe thats why his mask only covered one eye and revealed the other one. i strongly believe tobi is obito
