  • The tone that I heard in my dreams!

  • I get same tone with jam pedals red muck

  • Andy, the human juke box!

  • yes! Everlo-dammit, never mind.

  • is this a civil war muff type thing?

  • Big Muff ..

  • Would this be middle ground between a Blackout Effectors Musket and a Triangle muff clone (BYOC)? I'm looking for another flavor off muff.

  • Pink Floyd anyone?

  • Andy is amazing at picking the perfect song riffs for each and every pedal he demos...I'm loving these wren & cuff pedals....I might sell my vintage gear to get some of these reliable pedals!!!!!

  • why dont they give the green one a cool box like this?

  • do you remember which delay pedal you were using???

  • I've watched this like eight times to hear andy play that first bit

  • I just discovered Wren & Cufff...I might actually e-bay off my vintage muff's and get some of their uber reliable pedals

  • @TheThrob111 same for me....there stuff is amazing

  • @TheThrob111 i think you can send them your muffs and theyll tweak the circuits to make it one of theirs or something similar... might be too late but still worth saying

  • what delay pedal are you using on the beginning ?

  • I like compressed/sustained sound with the neck pick up...very gilmour

  • At the beginning, when he kicks on the fuzz... what song is this? I just dont hear the pink floyd ...

  • Civil War muff sounds are easily my favorite type of fuzz boxes. I've been trying to decide between the Blackout Effectors Musket Fuzz and the new Mojo Hand Colossus, now this one pops up! haha Would anyone care to give an opinion on comparing the three? They all get great tones, but which would you say is most versatile?

  • Still searching for the perfect fuzz... Got a buzzaround clone that gets close. May have to add this one to the board, too. Definitely smaller and probably more reliable than the original CW Muff...

  • what's that first guitar in the demo?

  • @DarthG0m3zzz looks like a G&L Legacy

  • I agree, that first part is the solo to "On the Turning Away" by Pink FLoyd. One of my favorite solos.

  • Hey Andy, how long have you had that G&L, I only asked because your fret board looks really clean for a board.

  • I like the Tall Font Russian better, but I'd still take this over a Big Muff any day.

  • Sounds like a mix of fuzz and distortion. But it's a sweet pedal overall.

  • awesome

  • Another cool twist on the Big Muff-ish tone. Goes from Gilmour to grunge with just a few control changes. If I didn't already build my own modded Muffs, I'd jump on this one. Great sounding pedal and the guts are very neat and tidy. :)

  • at 3.00 is this a remix of "lost art of keeping a secret"?

  • what's the name of the first song? Must be Pink floyd/Gilmour

  • @Nimrod9458 Try "Bad Company" by Bad Company

  • @ZepIV oh, thanks! :)

  • Its like joe walsh guitar sound...

  • Lol grammar error, the second one*

  • holy shit that is awesome

  • The second sonic sounds almost like Incinerate by Sonic Youth but it's seems a little different.

  • That intro is amazing.

  • PGS has the best damn demos... And Miss Shevaughn would be using this pedal inna minute if we had any more room on our boards!!!

  • Sounds fuckin' fantastic!!

  • i wish you guys would do Bass Demos as well once in a while!!

  • I Was expecting the Wren and Cuff Phat Phuk. anybody else?

  • awesome modern tone great match with the G&L.Great playing as always

  • THIS. THIS FUZZ TONE. HOLY CRAP. I may have to find a way to try one in person at a shop.

  • Can you start listing the basic gear you're using in your videos again, please?

  • The reviews are great but... why Andy don't use a pick? This makes lose a lot of sound frequences

  • @mixolidianrules It doesn't make you lose a lot of frequencies, it simply emphasizes different ones. And many great players don't use picks: Jeff Beck, Mark Knopfler, Albert King, John Mayer, Derek Trucks, Albert Collins, Wes Montgomery.... the list goes on

  • $225 for a muff clone? Ouch. That's not a shot at PGS. I know the pricing comes from the pedal maker.

  • @Ethan314159 Stomp Underfoot has a ton Muff Versions for $150 each. They get great reviews and everyone says Matt (SUF Builder) is great to deal with.

  • @smoss469 I know. I bought a CWM from him back when they were only $120. :P

  • @smoss469 I bought a CWM from Matt over a year ago. Back when they were cheaper. :P Great pedals and a friendlier size.

  • @smoss469 I agree, he makes classy pedals for a good price, by the way the price change was only 10 dollars. Great guy to deal with, awesome pedals.

  • That was amazing, just, wowwwww.

  • Hey Pro Guitar Shop. First I'd like to start by saying that I love these videos, I appreciate all that goes into the making and playing and the massive variety of videos. I am not a beginner guitarists however I am looking a pedals and there are so many different kinds, maybe you could do a series to show different classic and new original pedals together to show different tonal characteristics, love the individual pedal videos, I think this would be an awesome next step, ROCK ON!

  • Gotta say, if I was going to pick a fuzzbox based on its ability to clean up with picking dynamics and volume tweaking, no Muff or Muff derivative would be on my radar. Muffs do a lot of things very well, but cleaning up is not among them.

Still better than the Swollen Pickle--I swear that thing gets dirtier when I roll off my volume.

  • The intro sounded like a combination of Pink Floyd's "Cymbaline" and "On the Turning Away" to my ears anyway. Great sounding pedal, I guess it's time to sell some of my less used pedals

  • HD! Finally! Are you guys gonna start uploading all you videos in HD?

  • damn this one is reeeally good.

  • I gave away my dark green soviet muff modded by ron "the EH man" neely. in favor of a vintage ram's head. Beleive it or not, BAD MISTAKE

  • wow sounds beautiful distortion.. how much ???

  • That was a very bright guitar intro and I am surprised this box sound so dark when he kicked it in.

  • almost a dino jr, tone

  • That pedal deserves its name.

  • holy shit thats some amazing tone andy

  • What amp are you using? Thanks

  • Such a winner tone.

  • the second one has to be a dinosaur jr. song.

  • I think I may just have found my fuzz for life - Muffy and huge but still kinda edgy

  • Great pedal. Really love the tone, and its solid like a brick.

Were you using a little overdrive there are the beginning, before the fuzz kicks in, to sharpen the G&L's tone?

  • Damn, you turned that on and I was like :0

  • whats the song in the begining? could it be gilmour?

  • i love the gilmour stuff in the begginning, pedal sounds great

  • Wish this tone would work for my style of music. It is awesome.

  • Great fat original sound.

  • Got that Gilmour tone!

  • What is the song at 1:30 ?

    sound like foo fighters

  • @PirateFromVoid When he cleans up, it's definitely Sonic Youth's "Incinerate" but before that, I'm not so sure.

  • @PirateFromVoid more like a dinosaur jr or later sonic youth song to me

  • I think it's about time PGS does effects reviews with bass as well... I'm curious about how some of the effects you guys demo would work with/sound on bass, this one being an example.

  • Lol! Seems like they could have fit that circuit in a box the size of an ep booster!

  • @kyzrvlhlm1995 no because of the custom housing

  • OMG, this sounds so 90's perfect!

  • i really admire Andy's fingerstyle technique but since most of guitarists use picks,PGS might include some picking-type playing on their videos...

  • @SparkyGi andy doesnt always play without a pick, and pretty much every other video demoer PGS has uses a pick..

  • is this song on the intro a little tribute to on the turning away by pink floyd?

  • really powerful without being a metal box. ideal for live neil young covers!

  • What's the second song played? I really liked that riff.

  • @ThatKidWIthMusic Kinda sounded like a Foo Fighters song, but I'm not sure.

  • Really impressed with this pedal - wasn't expecting to like it that much either.

  • love it

  • What is the song at 1:30 ?

  • @Epikpage I think its Everlong

  • @TheYokel01 nope, but it kinda has the same idea

  • what is andy playing at the beginning is that some improv or is that a song? That pedal sounds badass. Could easily see gilmour blasting that thing through his HIWATT's

  • Hey, he played the song at 1:30 on the Nobels ODR-1 demo, to, what is the name of it?

  • nice...very nice..another one for my list

  • i'm waiting for the day i can afford all of the damn pedals.

or the day i win the lottery.

  • what song is the riff @2:50 in?

  • I hate when PGS stop to tell us about amp that they use recently and other equipment that use to make more color to the sound such as delay, overdrive and such. Please PGS I love your videos and I want to know gear that you use. Don't stop tell us.

  • Whats the song hes playing at the start?

  • WOW O_O

I may have to try one of these bad boys myself! Great video thanks!

  • what amp ? the clean sounds really good.

  • @joemiracle220 If they've been using the same amp for a while now, I think it's the Tone King Imperial

  • love the sound of this pedal!

  • hmmm so which one is bigger sounding the box of war or the fuzz war?? I'm not sure which would better compliment my Mayo

  • THAT's the tone I think I was looking for!

  • was this actually designed for civil war by GnR?

  • @omfg51 no

  • Comment removed

  • Do you think a simple "wow" could ever be a top comment?

  • Sounds great does it also work with a bass.

  • The intro riff is so good.,

  • This pedal made me orgasm

  • Seems like you get a lot of great sustain from that pedal. I think it would be a great thing to mention in your demos how loud your amp is when doing them. That way we know the harmonics and sustain is coming from the pedal and not just the amp cranked.

  • Comment pending approval is a dead give away for selling bullshit. Let people speak freely about the product so viewers can see what other's have to say, not just what you think is the be all end all.

  • @Standard420247 If you friend us, you do not need comment approval. We do this to keep the spammers at bay. Thanks!

  • @ProGuitarShopDemos i sent a friend request weeks ago and still nothing

  • @ProGuitarShopDemos so you guys do go through every single comment? damn!

  • @Standard420247 I have seen some nasty comments about proguitarshop, they let almost anything past, like they said it keeps the stupid spam away.

  • @Standard420247 I think the fact they let this one through pretty much proves you wrong mate ;)

  • @Standard420247 Guess you're new here, huh? There is seldom any censorship here (even when there should be), unless someone is a total tool.

  • @Standard420247 Oh piss off, go watch the zillions of other shitty product demos out there and say whatever you want. PGS offers the best around and I'm glad they keep the comments spam-free.

  • Sounds like shit, Far better pedals on the market that are better and most likely cheaper. If a pedal cost more than 40-50 bucks you got fucking burned.

  • This is the first fuzz pedal, where I say "I want it". It sounds amazing.

  • "Heavy duty custom enclosure" --> the box of war is fittingly build like a tank

  • you know what the pedal market needs? another muff clone

  • Whats the first song? Sounds like gilmour. At least the style is the same..

  • @BlazerStrat

    Gilmour..On the Turning Away

  • what's the first song? sounds kinda gilmourish

  • ive never wanted a pedal so much, awesome.

  • What incredible tone from that strat at the beginning!

  • Tabs?

  • amazing sounding delay under the first bit... Is that the LoFi 616?

  • @louisalive Yep, it's the Malekko LoFi alright! Thanks,

    -PGS Crew

  • @louisalive Good call man!

  • Almost first

  • Nice!

  • FIRST

  • @cowboytonydee and i would love to know who the fuck cares about being first!

  • @cowboytonydee HANDJOB

  • Very chunky, I like it already

  • that first riff made me think this is not very warlike then he actually turned on the pedal.....

  • Will there ever be any cons mentioned about a productt?

  • @Account3of7 As they're trying to sell them, i'm gonna guess very rarely if ever. But y'know, for most pedals there's gonna be other channels who'll give you some bad points - Either way, whether or not you like the sound from the video is a pretty good representation imo :)

  • Looks like a worthy buy.
