1. the vast majority of "runway clothes" are meant to be worn on the street. whether you choose to wear the whole look is down to you.
2. "couture" means dressmaking. are you saying dresses aren't meant to be worn on the street?
3. i didn't actually post an opinion. rather i was mildly disgusted at your crass and ill-informed opinion that showed a blatant disregard for the process of design. it makes it hard for me to respect your opinion when clearly so little thought has gone into it.
Ok. I was trying to be nice... but youre just a snobby bitch. So leave me alone. Pardon me for not being a FASHIONISTA with my heels up my ass like you!
please grow up. posting puerile comments about something you self-admittedly do not know a lot about and then expecting someone to respect your opinion is unrealistic, not to mention childish. your final reply leaves much to be desired, and as it is indicative of the level of intellect i am somehow conversing with, i shall not waste any more effort.
fantastic...even Chalayan looks to the past, he says the masters of the 60s are amazing, the old balenciaga, old pierre cardin and courreges...its fantastic that he uses the available technology we have today to make something innovative and fresh......also loved balenciaga i want those red trousers and the gold robotic leggings...fab fab..great video thanks for uploading.
Chalayan is doing something original and relavent and the fact that it is executed in real life is just amazing... watching the last third of this just makes my mouth drop, who else does this???????!!!!
And I dig Balenciaga, i just wanna know who to call to commission some insane ideas I have that require fiberglass casting like those c3po "leggings" if you will...
Chalayn was the only one who was truly innovative. His were the only designs that changed, advanced, & improved the function of clothes. Though, they became a bit less functional (the gowns are not warm, & are not readily cleaned).
The Dior collection was really intricate - stunningly so. The colours were WONDERFUL! It was really REALLY elegant in person. What I saw was as close to timeless as fashion ever gets.A champaigne satin (charmeuse?) coctail dress lives on in my memeory, 1.5 yrs later.
Ugh, Christians collection is sooo not even futuristic...are we supposed to think the collection is futuristic because every model has penis head do's(don'ts)? lol!
Hussien Chalayan's is the best, I know his collection took a lot of work, especially the transformative pieces. I know all the technical work involved in working with the technology he used, lots of math and science involved.
ya.. but you know i am christian haha.... but i think this more like a jew.. but this dull anyways.. i love 3:05.. but seriouly mid of this video look like star war movie.
Balenciaga's and Chalayan's are my favorites. It's time to look ahead people enough with borrowing from the past. When will we make our statement if we are too busy looking back...to look ahead?
actually COUTURE means everything is made and sewn by hand and not by machine
