@kelseynsuggs I think it is because big record labels don't want artists to take risks in music. And taking risks means that the artist makes unique music with their own "sound" knowing it will not be for everyone. That kind of music is not interesting for record labels that only stare on record sales...

There is tons of awesome music in the world that I have not heard of for the very same reason. Most radio stations don't play music because it's new.They play the music huge record labels want.

@Ounouh That is true! I love underground bands for that very reason as well! They play the music that they want and not what they are forced to play. I absolutely hate when the radio stations play the same songs over and over, it is like no matter how many times you switch the station, the song is still there. Perhaps one day these charades will end and awesome music will reign supreme!! :) It is a dream at least!

True musicians who like to make music don't need to spend millions for visuality. That is much less important.

Look at those nowaday popstars. They need to make music videos so they (especially girls) could show people how sexy they look or dance. That makes people to buy records. I know this is a dull comparison. But talented musicians don't need to make hype music videos (ok, if they have a lot money =) )

i totally agree. it's annoying to see how some musicians seem to do music just for fame and shallow stuff like that. The music itself is forgotten and the songs are made thinking "what would people listen", not "what kind of music i want to make."
