  • 9 people are using beats

  • every review would be better if you put your headphones on

  • hello sir, i'm listening to dream theater's music(rock) 24/7 , how do you think this headphones compared to senn's hd 448 ? for the sake of rock \m/ please help us....

  • how does this sound with an ipod??

  • @mdayyubshaikh It's pretty good. I tested them out playing the song "Punk" by Gorillaz on my iPhone, since it has a very bassy intro, and has claps (for the highs). I find them to be really good. When I play drums, I can still hear the track very well, and on the metro, I can usually have them two clicks from maximum volume (with Sound Check). The 840's + the DJ's were too heavy on bass, whereas these had good highs, mids and lows.

  • how does this sound with an ipod??

  • Wow you cut through that plastic seal like a boss, no pealing needed. Just slice and you're done, you've done this before lol.

  • this comes with 3.5mm 2.5mm and 1/8 to right so i don't have to buy adapter

  • wwww.beatsinsider.info

hit me up 4 a decent deal on high-fi headphones

  • just got them from future shop for 120$, they sound nice, but the nice thing about them is that they dont leak sound, so u can stand infront a mic and record without the mic picking up any sound from the headphones, good ones

  • Can a normal 3,5mm Headphonejack fit on the headphones?

  • These are pretty much just like the SRH840's except the 840s have a more polished look and bigger frequency range in places that already can't be heard by humans

  • omg lets pls stop buying the beats...or at least until they make them with better build quality! and lower the price!! Shure440s are great!! and for those who want "the bass" and blhabalblha...go for SHure750dj's...the bass on those are fantastic! a bit pricer than 440s...but great (if you dont' mind the slightly bigger form factor)... i think most people who want the Beats are uneasy about wearing "geeky" (so called) headphones in public...which is fine iguess..personal prefererence!

  • hows the bass

  • fuck you

  • That's unboxing with class. also no crap bla bla. nice

  • @GenoSkill Thanks

  • Cool i have a skullcandy sk pro headphones :)

  • @suomividis2 That sucks.

  • which is better shure srh440 studio or beats by dr. dre studio?

  • @poilcasda1 depends on which musics u prefer.

if u r more of a hiphop person, who loves bass sound, then beats is definitely the one for u.

but if u r going for musics which doesnt involve a lot of bass sound, then u should go 4 shure,

but personally, i don lyk beats, coz its overpriced, n bass is juz way 2 strong. it kills the other sounds.

  • Which is better for recording, Shure SRH 440 or Audio-Tehnica ATH M35?

  • @DTStudioblack shure makes more clearer n fresher sound

    according 2 my experience.

    i have used both srh440 n m35 b4, n i think shure srh440 was better than m35.

but if u r going 2 buy audio technica headphones, then i would recommend ATH M5.

the sounds more crispier than m35, and it has better wearing comfort

  • @DTStudioblack actually, i meant ATH M50. not ATH M5

    my mistake :p lol

    got confused with BMW M5

  • aha the music make this unboxing seem epic

  • How do you compare them to the V-moda Crossfade LP ?

  • @cuv77 The V-Moda sound better but the Shure are a lot more comfortable.

  • Awesome video, nice camera, loved the fact you used music and not voiceover. Thought it was an original take and gave the sweet SRH 440's the justice they deserve. Nice work :)

  • are these jurable?

  • When wearing the headphones and listening to music Does Any of it leak out?

like is the person next to me basically going to be hearing what I am?

  • @joshuasantangelo It's curled so it's bulky

  • appocolyptica, nice.

  • Thanks. I'll get mine this weekend

  • im not sure if to get the shure 440's, shure 840's or the beyerdynamic dt 770's pro.

i'll be using them for all types of music production, live performance, recording, mixing etc.

    can you help me out?

  • do they feel like they are gonna break?

  • Whats the song?

  • @yyyy2999 Apocalyptica - Bittersweet

  • dude what size is the cable plug that goes into headphones

  • plz tell me which headset has ultimate sound isolation ? (at least good sound isolation than gamecom 367.) plz help me ...

  • @gundrag000 well i think the bose qc 15s are pretty epic.

  • @yyyy2999 if I have money to buy that, I have no problem. under 120~150? USD ...

  • Awesome Song!

  • High quality unboxing. Thumbs up!

But the music is extremely lame.

  • Shure = Bose

    Brand name placebo and overpriced

  • @dingumfCallofDuty

The price's actually decent and the built quality of the srh440 is way better than all the boses headphone I'd say. Not overpriced at all. Beats are overpriced

  • @dingumfCallofDuty So which brand do you recommend, other than Shure or Bose?

  • give me the song name plz...

  • Smith and Wesson? :)

  • I'm a techno, DnB and trance junkie. I have a Sony Walkman X 16GB. Would you suggest this to me? Im also planning on using these for gaming on my PS3.

    Thanks, great video.

  • Anyone knows if this model is decent for studio monitoring? I want some neutral and transparent headphones.

  • Yo i might be getting these soon :). What that wire sticking out on both side just above the ear pad?? Thanks

  • do these need to be powerd by USB or something? Also hows the sound?

  • what are the earpads made of? pleather? They seem to be a cheap, suitable replacement for my Audio Technica ATH-M50's....

  • @NoMotif Im pretty sure they are pleather but they are super comfortable and are very nicely made. No cheap at all.

  • @SchneiderStudios Thanks, just what i needed :)

  • @SchneiderStudios dude can u remove the cord

  • @SchneiderStudios what kinda knife is that? looks like a Benchmade.

  • which one is better? the SRH440, SRH840 or the beats by dre studios? in terms of the build quality and the sound quality, thanks!

  • @hahnrock For the style : Beats by Dre. For music : SRH440 or SRH840. Build quality is very high for both Shure models.

  • Are these good for music like death or thrash metal? For an idea of what I want them for, listen to "To Decompose" by Cannibal Corpse and tell me what you think, please.

  • Two questions:

1)Are they good for hiphop? (I think you said no). Is that because of not reproducing vocals appropriately?

2)Are they too big to wear outside while walking?

  • I just ordered some of these and am waiting for there arrival and plan on buying some UBER ones in the future. seeing all the comments I see the bass is not the punchiest on these so I need some advice on some future ones that look cool, have punchy bass, Nice mids and highs, and you know all the good stuff.

    XP Ty all.

  • @fm2h3 SRH840s would probably fit the bill, and they saddle somewhere between nice and UBER class of headphones you're talking about. One thing the Shure SRHs do well is respond to equalization very well. You may want to fiddle around with the bass setting until you're totally sure that no amount of EQ will bring out your bass levels (Up your Mid-Bass level)

  • @damagedgears Mmk Ty and yes I mess with my equalizer ALOT I love FL studio XP. So 840's are more confy Bassier and EPIC? XD

  • I retract, I see how these un-boxing vids may be useful. As I look at it closer, I see that the cord on the 440 can be replaced if I want to change it to a straight cord, a longer cord or upgrade the cord to perhaps improve the sound. Hmmm, thanks for the vid!

  • The Shure SRH440 OR the Sony MDR-7506 - which has a better sound. For studio monitoring, mixing in a small to mid-sized home studio or even large recording studio and performance monitoring for accurate sound

AND for general great music playback of lossless music from Jazz to Classic Rock to Classic Soul/R&B/Funk? That's simply my question to you.

By the way, all these un-boxing videos are a tad bit strange and geeky. They tell me nothing about what or how things work.

  • This may sound an ignorant imposition. But, do the srh440 connect to classic Ipods?

  • @deraAZ0

They do, you are going to want a portable headphone. They require quite a bit of power.

The great part about both the SRH440 and SRH840 is they come with a threaded 1/4 inch adaptor, so that if you do decide to use them on 1/4 inch devices, you don't have to worry for things falling off.

  • have to call J&R for that price!

  • Considering you can get the SRH840 for well under $200, it is a phenomenal buy. Some professional reviewers are comparing the 840 to $1000+ closed and open HPs after 300 hours of burn-in. I got them at J&R for $130 w/free shipping. And they can be found as low as $116. That is insane! Even with the most timid reviews, these are thought to be around the SQ of $400 competitors. I love em.

  • @mrgoodkat218 As one who recommend the SRH840s over PS1000s, the difference is still there. While I may prefer the Shures; the detail of sound is not there. I prefer the unbalanced bass and comfort - two things drastically different than the Grados.

  • Understood. I read your review, was very helpful in swaying my decision, and everything you said proved true. Even at MSRP, these are a steal. And I was happy to do business with Shure, once again. Although I was thinking of another review that compared them to the Senn HD800, favorably, after burn. Either way, even mentioning the PS1000 or the HD800 in the same breath as these, is fairly amazing considering the price.

  • What's better, this or AKG K240 Studio Headphones?

  • I have the SRH-440s. AKG is much better in my opinion but it is more expensive (quite a bit more actually). If you can swing the extra bucks though, SRH840 might be better option. The 440s sound REALLY good mind you but its not the absolute best.

  • I had the 440's and REALLY like them .. but of course .. curiosity got the best of me and I tried the 840's ... AND THEY ARE AWESOME !!

Either set is GREAT .. and really WELL WORTH the money .. but if you can swing the extra ... 840's are king

  • do you like fishdickS?

  • si do you like cocktails?

  • @paasei1599

I DONT LIKE NO DAMN FISHSTICKS!

  • Would these isolate enough sound for drumming purpose?

  • @TehSpetke Sorry i don't know about that but some people do use them for drumming..

  • Allright, thanks

  • the 440s are more natural sounding, but the 840s have better bass and are slightly more isolating, so those may suit drumming better

  • yes im a drummer and they do : )

  • @TehSpetke Some what, they are really high quality sound for music and studio recording, keyboard, etc. They will isolate a little bit of the drumming, but they are not too good for playing music too, you have to blast your MP3 Player to be ablt to here your music and your drums.

  • @TehSpetke dont get them for drummiG!!!!!

  • @TehSpetke Yes, they isolate a good amount of sound. You should be fine drumming with these.

  • How is the bass on these? I'm kinda either going to get these or the Sennheiser HD 205. What do you think? I kinda want more clear bass. But I love the coiled wired on the Shures. Great Vid.

  • The beginning violinesque part sounds great through the 440's ;)

  • No wonder your user-name sounded so familiar, you're also on Head-Fi!

  • these headphones are unbelievable for the prize. if you are used to too much bass, then these probably won't be for you. these reproduce lows, mids and high just right and sound unbelievable.

you can't get any better at this price.

  • 評判が良いので買う予定です>>440

  • These are fantastic, THe sound is excellent, and is one of the best for soundmonitoring for film. All of my soundguys have these headphones hooked up to a wireless transmitter:P

  • Would you say these or the Denon 1001 is better?

  • The Denon AH-D1001 have more deep bass whereas the Shure SRH440 have more punch, energy and treble extension. The SRH440 is surprinsingly well balanced over the entire spectrum, better than the Denon for my taste.

  • would you recommend these to a person who listens to music everyday, everywhere? and how long do you think these will last?

  • Yes i do, they will last you a long time.. very durable..

  • Is the bass on this better than [Asym] Skullcandy earbuds? What if I use Bass-Booster on my iPod? Are these comfortable? Good for portable use? Do they cancel noise at all? Am I asking too many questions?

  • They will sound better then skullcandy, bass is great, very comfortable, yes foldable for portable use, they cancel some noise but not much.

  • Sounds liek a vviener to me...

  • do they leak noise

  • hey

how would these compare your shure se115s?

and yes i know that the se115s are IEMs.

  • are these good ?

  • Yes way better then the 240, great bass.

  • Wow wutz this song?

  • Sweet friggin tunes and heaDPHONES!!!!!

  • Comment removed

  • They are being sold for less, so yes.

  • how are they for alt rock, rock and hip hop?

  • Great for rock and alt, no so much for hip hop though..

  • awesome thanks but would you recommend any other headphones around this price range ?

  • Can you tell me how these cans compare to the SRH840? Thanks :)

  • I tried both models for 2 weeks. Both are very good and really impressive for the price. The SRH440 is a winner for listening with an MP3 player or a PC soundcard. The SRH840 needs an external amp to give its best. I chose the 440 for its perfect compatibility with MP3 players, and also for its livelier and more involving sound signature.

  • I don't know for the Fiio, but all that I can say is that I get enough volume and power with my Sony A726. And even more with my PC soundcard.

  • hey, i read a couple of comments saying these were not for bass, i was looking for yours or anyone else's willing to contribute opinion on the best quality + bass for headphones under au$150 or approx us$138. any help would be greatly appreciated :) thanks

  • as for in-ears i would say the Monster Turbine, headphones i would say Any beyerdynamic if you can find a good price.

  • I'd really like to see a shot of these headphones on someone's head...any chance?

  • Good music in the background. :)

  • i'm into hobby music production and i'm not sure which headphones, like these, are the best for not too much money.

i have bose in ear headphones, are those better than the srh 440?

  • No, the bose is not better i also have them.

  • Sadly, both of those are greatly over my price range

  • I believe you said somewhere in the forums, you returned them because the bass was so poor? Really? I'm thinking of buying them but I like my bass =[

  • Yes, if you love bass this is not for you. Denon d2000 or maybe the Shure srh840..

  • Did you let them burn in? That could be why there isn't enough bass.

  • how is the bass and comfort?

  • Comfort is excellent, bass isnt that great but fine

  • pshh please these have nothing on the beats trust me get the beats

  • Are this headphones good for just listening music on ipod?

  • Yes

  • do these headphones do a good job at canceling out outside noise ? or are the better for indoors

  • not really, yes they are better for indoors.

  • hey what do you think of these heaphones by now?? are they any good, durable? as im about to order them. thanks

  • They are great for the price, but they are not audiophile class. they are very durable and portable, they fold up.

  • and what about bass levels? as i listen to alot of dance/house music

  • not great bass, but its there. if you want better bass you need to go with the srh840

  • ahh i see thank for you input!

  • whats that song, its beautiful

  • Bittersweet by Apocalyptica

  • great sound, just a bit too heavy AND the big problem is that my scull skin hurts after 5 minutes of wearing these. Seems like the angle/curve is too wide and the weight of the phones doest rest they way they should on my head.

  • Yes the clamp force is a little too strong for my taste..

  • Bittersweet: Apocalyptica feat. Ville Valo & Lauri Ylonen right!!?? Sweet song

Cool vid I was going to buy those but I decided to go better with the Grado SR80 I'm yet to breaK them in, give'm a good burn. Cheers catch u laterr

  • Whats the word on these??? I might order a pair

    this week.

  • Nice video :)

  • are these any good? i know you hated the 240's, wondering if these are worth the $100

  • Enjoy!

  • Awesome ! Thanks for the video !
