your kid is very smart but that doesn't make him a genius. many people including myself knew this information by this age. if he loves astronomy that much, he should take into consideration studying astronomy, physics and mathematics when he gets older.

this is my cousin brandt bickford, in 5 weeks gets to be on the ellen degeneres show. he just recieved $10,000 dollars worth of star wars products, and he got to go to the griffith stars emporiom. this was at my grandmas house.

@PathofReason You mean the ones who thought our solar system was geocentric for years, and believed absolute scientific precedence belonged to The Church? They don't exist anymore. Galileo himself was a Christian and he was later the one man dedicated most to heliocentric theory and received the most persecution from "The Church." So, yes, the early church condemned him. But to say that believers today would is really unfortunate and disgustingly stereotypical. We aren't all bigots.

@Malleolust I know haha I think when I made that comment I was more of an Atheist jerk. I have simmered down since then. I was dealing with a lot more fundamentalists at that time in my life. I feel ya :)

@PathofReason Aww. Well, I have nothing in the world against Atheists/Agnostics. We all choose to believe what we want. The only time I get defensive is when people start making fun of either. I didn't realize that comment was made over 2 years ago. Wow! And trust me, I know EXACTLY what you mean by "dealing with fundamentalists." Sometimes they've very intolerant.
