2008 Volvo C30 - First Drive - Car and Driver

I drive a 2009 T5 R-Design, but only in the summer. I reserve winter driving here in Canada for my Silverado 4x4. My C30 is by far the most fun vehicle I drive. It's quick, responsive, agile and comfortable. I also looked closely at the Audi A3 before buying. I chose the C30 for it's unique styling, superior power plant and lower price. And the C30 does not portray the cocky "better-than-you" attitude that so many Audi and BMW drivers seem to have.

The C30 is a great looking hot hatch. How would you folks rank Volvo's quality/reliability? We've got a Volvo dealership monopoly where I live and that concerns me in terms of repair costs.

@soupsdone Quality is superb, real luxury cars. And as it goes for reliability - it's a Volvo! I know they are very reliable, I've never seen my dad keep a car for so long! His is a V70, and my mother is now looking at getting a C30. I'm not too sure really what has changed since the company has been bought out by the Chinese. I know I'm not a fan at all of the look of the back of any of the newer ones! Only thing is, they cost a LOT to repair. If you ever have to that is...

and lets not talk about the safety functions that other cars from its class dont have! thats what makes the big difference! the price for the c30 differes from country to country! go on volvocars. com and see how it's selled in ure country! i drove most cars from this class and even though is on 3 doors im gonna wait to spare some extra money and go with volvo!that will be my choice

indeed the price is high! but is the lowest price from volvo a brand that respects itself! i wanted to buy a car within 14.000 euros! i made diff configurations from seat, opel to WV golf 5! and u now what? all of them were bald in the sense they didnt have esp,lateral airbags etc! and if u put on them all the stuff that volvo has in the basic version u get to the same price or higher! and still. volvo is volvo! a car that doesn't deteriorate very often!a car that doesn't deteriorate very often!

Es un auténtico lujo de coche, tanto x detro, como por fuera, original como ningun otro coche, muy, pero que muy muy seguro, he intentado hacerlo derrapar en una curva y es casi imposible. Tiene una estabilidad cojonuda. No consume nada.
