i'll admit, this song is pretty easy (at least if you know how to play...) but wouldn't it be more effective in the main riff to do:

a 5h7 5h7

e 3h5 3h5

instead of

d 5-7 5-7

a 5-7 5-7

or would you pretty much get the same effect cuz they're the exact same power chord? idk i'm so used to power chords that the above is easier on me but do you think there's a difference?

@CalebePriester palm muting is where you barely put your palm at the bottom of the guitar strings just after the bottom bridge so it makes a heavyer sound that takes away the rest of the excess noise.

Palm mute is when you rest the side of your right palm against the strings on the very bottom of the guitar as you pluck them, it gives a heavier sound.

I just got a guitar two days ago and I hate playing things so slowly to memorize them because it sounds nothing like what the actual song is so it always makes me question the tabs even though I know they're correct.

Oh well I love my guitar even though it's cheap and goes out of tuning easily.

You don't need a pedal most amps come with a distortion switch. Turn the gain and volume up and palm mute for the percusive sound. You can also turn your treble and bass up with the mids all the way down to get that classic "scooped" Metallica sound.

@yargbanshee219 You can either get a distortion pedal, or set the gain real high on your amplifier. Careful with the gain though, cause if your volume is high, your amplifier will deafen you o_o
