I feel bad for Gracie she reminds me of me when my father went to jail and she has a constant load of her back. My older sister had a baby and lived 40 minutes away with her boyfriend. Well my mother couldn't even take care of herself. I had to work to take care of my brother and sister.Its just sad that this is still going on today.

When I was reading the article about the real girl's story, it said Amy (Gracie) was born dead due to her mother being drug addicted when she was pregnant.
The girl also has more than one sister. A character of her twin Jessica doesn't appear and is never mentioned in the movie. (Gracie is 18/19 in this film. Real-life Amy's sister Jessica left home at the age of 14).
That counselor was rude to Gracie. Really rude. Aren't school counselors supposed to be nice and compassionate about the students? Mine were to me and I didn't have any problems like Gracie has.
