I am glad there is video of Dee in the band...maybe its a sign of the ORB's future cuz he sure belongs there...love that signature guitar riff...and its too bad our Oaks have to get older, I just love their look around this time, Joey with long hair, Duane with long hair, and Richard all clean and well dressed...still love em just the same!
How can you say Dee doesn't belong in here!!!! Of course he does. He did great and that I am sure that made his father very proud... Life is about recycling.....
@Klens75 sadly true. when i heard this WAAAAAY back when early 80's IIRC first time, was thinking this is a kick arse song. i didnt put that meaing into my thought process. but now it is TRUE more so than then
According to Google. Dee Allen and his brother-in-law Paul Martin(Exile) took turns filling in on baritone until William Lee Golden came back. I was wondering if anyone had any videos of the Oaks with Paul on baritone that they could upload. Thanks either way.
That is Dwayne Allen's son and he sure is good!! I love the Oak Ridge Boys! They were on tv with Bill Gaither and they did great as well. I would love to see them live.
its so funny how you can check a vid for the hardest heavy metal band and someone is like "now this is music", then you check some classical music and "now this is music" then check some oak ridge boys and the same thing. its crazy how much indivduals tastes vary and what they consider good music, nod diss intended to this day i remain obsessed with the song elvira, for what reason i have no idea
I hope when the Oaks decide to retire they can continue the tradition by handing it over to Dee Allen and Chris Golden to continue on much like the current group took over. Chris filled in for William Lee when he had his heart attack and he's got a great voice. The one voice you'd never be able to replicate nearly as well is Richard's probably.
@travman99--I would love to see the Oak Ridge Boys Chapter 2. Dee Allen and Chris Golden are certainly more than capable of taking over. I wonder if one of them can sing the lead because you don't need two baritones. Although Richard Sterban is irreplacable, there is a bass singer out there named Tim Duncan who sings with Ernie Haase and Signature Sound. The dude is awesome and relatively young. However, as good as Richard looks as he approaches 70, he may never retire.
That is Dee Allen, Duane's son. When Steve Sanders suddenly left the group due to a domestic dispute between him, his wife, and his ex-wife. One night Duane had to call Dee, who was working at a steakhouse, to fill in. A few months later, William Lee Golden returned to the Oaks, and sadly Steve Sanders took his own life. Dee does a great job on this song.
richard sterban is the hottest man ever.

We should have listened closer to the Boys. They sounded the death of American manufacturing in the 80's....

classic, that's the only word for this song.

Dee Allen did a good job on this song, especially when you consider he was basically thrown into the fire.

@MacorettaBoozer ELVIRA is an awesome song, you can call it a classic now a days, because they don't make music like they did then

That tall one with his hair pulled back would be Dee Allen...son of Duane Allen. He filled in for them in between Steve Sanders and William Lee.
