  • i never tire of this interview. My friend died and he didn't believe in the afterlife just like June. However if you're not a psycho killer or did a lot of bad in your life, you have to go somewhere.

I've seen the interview about 5 times now. it's so beautiful. Even George slowed down a bit to her level and was great

  • wow, is she ever wonderful.

  • The mutual respect shown at the very end between the two is simply flooring.

  • June Callwood was an interesting character, a bit over-rated.

Years ago during an interview, she said she always loved lawyers and always wanted to be one. Also, she was a lay bencher many years ago at the Law Society of Upper Canada. My opinion, I always thought she was a shill for the system as a lay bencher.

Overall, I liked June somewhat. She was good and decent for the most part. But I would not consider her to be an icon or a hero though.

  • I just love this interview! What an amazing person she was

  • I had no idea who she was, her being Canadian, and my being from the southern US, I'm not very exposed to much or at all of anything Canada. June Callwood sounds like she was a wonderful person, we need much more of people like her in the world.

  • I've come back to this interview many times. The questions asked by George were respectful and her answers were moving.

  • such a moving and thoughtful interview. Thumbs up for George and the CBC.

  • lovely, adorable, with a great attitude....

  • That was beautiful and moving

  • May we all meet our ends with such courage

  • I find it so amazing to me that she thinks there is no afterlife because she always came across to me as a church type woman

  • @garycalgary

.. yes, I agree. Up to her death she maintained that we only have 1 life here on earth and that's it. Interestlingly, one interviewer asked her about life after death (5 years before June's passing) and June basically laughed at the question, as if the interviewer asked if she believed in Santa Claus. LOL.

  • June Callwood would roll in her grave if she knew what casey house now does to there clients.

Casey house killed two of my friends because they are poor and don't have a health card, credit card or money.

Now they are killing me by refusing to let me have hiv medication without giving them a donation.

I sleep in my own shit becase I cant get to the washroom and I eat cat food to live and they get millions in donations.

NEVER DONATE TO CASEY HOUSE EVER!

We miss you so much June Callwood

  • i have never heard such stupid comments. Go to CTV if the story is so bad

  • @A1steve how are you on the computer then? hahahaha ridiculous

  • @moliterni92 When I made that comment I was staying with a nurse who I met in emergency she let me stay at her place after I literally died in intensive care.

Now I am staying in an infirmary (a hostel for the homeless who are on end of life care) my legs have rioted and now I am in a wheel chair so they let me use there pc as it is all I can really do.

June Callwood was a wonderful woman.

Casey House changed there phone system so sick poor people can't call them collect. Try calling w/no $!

  • Love and kindness.

  • Touching interview --- interesting ideals and a great outlook on life and death!

  • She is an amazing woman. <3;

  • She's absolutely wondeful!

  • damnit. I am sorry George, I take it all back. You're a fantastic host. Keep up the good work. And thank you June.

  • she embraced life with passion and embraced death with grace

  • Kindness as a mantra.

Holding a marriage together if you have the basics.

Seeing life, here and now, as a miracle.

    Simple and stunning.
