hi .. i got the wizard and i download the theme files and there always in the zip format ... i try to add it to the firmware part but it dosent let me and when i extract the file its all in individual pictures .. what do i do to write it to my ipod ?? thx

Yeah this just changes the theme of the iPod so doesn't really do anything super special but makes it less boring. Yeah it does work with iTunes :) the only thing is that whenever you plug it in it'll say you have an update, just don't update it and you're fine (you really don't need the update just the theme makes iTunes think you have an old version of the iPod).

yes, i've clicked on the link, BUT it doesn't show up in LOAD ALL , the file should be under my downloads, but it fails to show up.

no i dont have trouble downloading the theme, it shows up as pictures when i click the download button on the website, so im not sure whether to save it as a link or as an image. when i go to ipodwizard and press load all after getting the ipod firmware, i don't find the link, it SHOULD be in my downloads, but i don't see it there when i look for it after pressing LOAD ALL

If your iPod has search then it's a 5.5g, if it doesn't have search then it's a 5g.

@gogeeks another question...all the themes im finding are picture themes and when i select ipod on the left side of ipod wizard the load ipod firmware button on the right grays out

oh picture themes work differently, for those, click the link in the sidebar, there is a written tutorial on how to do those (i'm going to make a faq guide for this video sometime this month covering it, but the fastest way to get the theme on there is by checking it out)

What theme did you download? (and make sure you downloaded the correct theme for your iPod....if you're a 5.5g get a theme for 5.5....if you're a 5g get a theme for the 5g they only work for the specific generation).

Unfortunately you can't install themes on that iPod :( (sorry). As far as deleting pictures, you can use iTunes to delete them :)

Plug your iPod into iTunes....then in the devices area of iTunes click your iPod. Click the photos tab at the top.

i have a ipod just like the one in the video, and it fell off my dresser onto the floor and completely blew apart, and the connectors inside all broke apart so everything isn't attached anymore, is there anyway i can fix this?

ifixit(dot)com is your friend (there are tutorials for just about everything) the only thing that makes me nervous though is the fact that if it hit the ground hardenough to split apart, the lcd COULD have cracked, but you might have button lucky :) (or the ribbon cables ripped which can end bad as well)

awesome video, i love my vista theme. quick question though: will replacing my 5.5G's hard drive fix its freezing issues? sometimes it will freeze in the middle of a song or changing from song to song

Yeah that should fix your problem, but before you do that, make sure it isn't the apple build that's causing your problems, backup your music using sharepod if you need to, reflash to the latest apple firmware, then put the theme back on and restore your music. For some people that fixes the freezing problem (if not then you need to swap the hard drive and your problem is fixed)

Not all themes are bin files, some of the less complex ones are just a series of image. To install those click the link in the description and I have a tutorial for those as well :)

Hey, I downloaded a theme, but now I only get pictures, I'd tried to follow you instructions but when I click on load firmware, it takes very long (15minutes) and then says insufficient memory, isn't there a program which converts bmp's into a theme? Or do you have another solution?

Simple, when you plug it into itunes after you install this theme it wants you get a prompt to "update" (you're already updated but itunes thinks you're not). Just update the firmware to revert back to normal, click cancel to keep your current firmware.

it's SUPER unlikely that will happen, honestly if you follow directions you'll be fine and about 98% of the time if you do manage to screw something up you can restore the original apple firmware :)....if you ever have trouble like that and need help just place a comment here and i'll respond asap :D

If your iPod had search functionality then it's a 5.5G, you need a special 5.5 generation if that's the case.
