Hey! i think i played this uke at a guitar shop yesterday! but i didnt have the model on it.. its sounded a looked just like this one! but when i shop for one online the neck sometimes has 12 frets and sometime has 18 frets...?
this mahalo uke you ve got...is this the common one that s for sell in most shops? I see the tuning pegs are different and it has quite a nice sound for a mahalo..which model is it? did you ever do any work on it? TKS!
Hi. Yes it is the standard U320T. I have fitted the geared tuners myself (they used to be available from Bushman Ukuleles quite cheaply.) I also us Worth brand fluorocarbon strings - they make a massive difference to the tone. Cheers
Nylguts are loud and strong, quite a bit brighter and much thicker, great for strumming. They are not as sweet, harder on the fingers and not as easy to bend as Worths, and seem to almost make the action feel a bit higher I have also found that the intonation on my Mahalo was better with Worths. Try the peg tuners for a while - Worth strings take (literally) days to stretch to their full length, but once they have they will stay in tune really well. Good luck and welcome to the uke world.
They are fantastic value. The few ukes I have preferred have usually cost at least five times as much. It doesn't matter so much for strumming, but I find all the dimensions perfect for fingerpicking, good tone (not all that loud but very sweet) and excellent intonation. I have put geared tuners on mine and would strongly advise a set of Worth strings - they make a huge difference. I have just bought a new Koa Fluke which I am really enjoying. I will post something on that soon. Cheers.
Did you learn the Baby Elephant Walk using tablature or did you find lessons on line?

@1969brandy1969 The tab I worked from is on the Ukulele Hunt website. I started from that and changed a few little things. Uke Hunt is a great site.

Very nice.
Where is the arrangement on the "Uke Hunt" blog? I would like to give it a try, but I couldn't find it.

Thanks. If you click on Woodshed1 (the comment below yours) you will be at the source! And thanks, Woodshed, for the great tab.

Excellent version. I love the extra little bits you've added in. Particularly the harmony on the riff at the end.
