nice work on the riff, but for it to become stoner-usable, you need to speed down that piece,dude... like..waaay down :D try ~30bpm slower.. then if you add a supporting baseline with a simplified version of your riff, and some sweet drummin underneath that, you'll get there.. but for that, you need a bit less peaky sharpness, more of a warm fuzzyness. and work on your phrasing - less same-ness, more variation in speed on the high-note-licks (like @1:20 and following), eg 3-2-2-3 instead of 5-5

Nice riffs man, you need to fatten your tone up though! Drop down a few semi-tones, get yourself an ElectroHarmonix Big Muff, crank the saturation, turn up the bass on your amp too, lose a little mids, but don't scoop them,. This is just advice from experience man, sounds good!

I would rather call this classic rock, then again i've only heard the guitar riff. For it to work with this riff and still be riff it needs a HEAVY bassline and a funked up drumbeat.

This sounded like Wolfmother rather than Kyuss.

greenleaf is a stoner band, and that is not that far from greenleaf style.

But put more drive,fuzz or something, some extra muff, fulltone franetone or z vex pedal, and whula you have it.

The guitarist from Brainpolice have SG guitar that sound pretty goood, but the bass player is awsome.

check out Brain police (album, self titled) and some Dozer albums.

reminds me a bit of 'woman' from wolfmother. it's cool, and good choice of a guitar..however, a tube amp is absolutely essential (check out bugera if ur on a budget) and standard tuning and stoner rock do not mix...tune it down at least a half step...nice work though

you NEED a tube amp to play stoner rock. A solid state with "amp modeling" is never going to give you the fat punch you need. also, i agree with hobodefuego. tune to C... Kyuss did it, sleep did it, the sword does it, there is a reason. nice riffs though, keep playing.

@takamineplayer55 You cant find a good setting because you need a nice oldschool tubeamp cranked up!! Thats the only way to get the REAL Sound you need for Stoner/Doom. Only Tubes are dirty, muddy, dynamic enough to do this. A Fuzz is also very helpfull, old Univox or sth.

@takamineplayer55 Ive got a 75watt version, and I got my favorite tone for that amp. Here are the settings: Metal, drive-10, bass-10, mid-5, treble-8, channel volume-5, reverb-3. no effects. i also have the tone knobs on my guitars at 0, and in the treble/ryhtem position
