For beginner's method, that is very good. I also average around 30 seconds but I use the Fridrich method(I am still very new at it though).

I actually do have a DIY(Spring and screw) cube and I do know that rubik's brand sucks. Now, with my highly lubed DIY cube, I can solve a 3x3 under 50 seconds.
