  • Wow, this is a dream visiting Crete and the labyrinth, brilliant! thanks for posting this.

  • This is excellent!

  • Creta: Seed of Europe

  • Interesting stuff, I just visited Crete not too long ago and found it absolutely breathtaking. Would you mind telling me what the name of the second song that plays is?

  • to exoyn fiaxi an8ropoi i einai dimioyrgima tis fisis?

  • @ALEX196644 to ''enoun'' ftiaxi anthrwpoi me tin boithia tis fusis

  • Could you pleace tell me, is it possible now for tourists to visit this cave?

  • Did Daedulus build this?

Or is it just a myth?

  • It has been there for 1000 's of years and the Nazi's destroyed it with explosives when they lost the war.

That's why the remainings are closed now, because it may collapse.

  • @labyrinthshadow THEY DESTROYED IT!!?

Argh.. :( I was hoping to one day see the labyrinth. :(

  • @labyrinthshadow Yes, I see the destruction on the video. :(

I hate people who kill culture :(

  • @Ulrna The labyrinth had visitors and tourists since the middle ages before tourism wasn't even a word.

These visitors left the signatures, which were attracted by the myths of Crete and the Minotaur.

  • My Friend Bill Ridge From Birmingham England Died Suddenly Aged 52 While On Holiday On Crete In July 2007,If You Have Knowledge Of This Or You Know Bills Sister Georgina A Teacher Living + Working On Rhodes Please Contact Me!......Thanx

    thx in advance

  • Nothing more than the info on the right.

  • well the first paragraph is about caveoligist of crete made a signage thing,(whenever you enter the cave and ur a tourist or watever u leave ur signiture) this has been happenin for over 6000 years but just realised in 1999.

paragraph 2: says that today there are over 2000 signatures over 6000 years.

Paragraph 3: hundreds of people taking hundreds of hours and time and is a world organisation to protect the cave or watever. the organisation is E.S.E.

    and yeh

  • yanni prelude and nostalgia

  • 1734, ¡ufff! How old!

  • the fact that the entrance has been blocked like that is very suspicious.

What has been found in there?

  • @hrysoulam

Yeah the nazis used it during wwII to store their ammo in, and some kids after the war were playing around with the explosives and accidently detonated a large stockpile which crumbled the main entry... something along those lines.

  • Have all these inscriptions been published anywhere?

Are there any of the older inscriptions that are carved on the walls, not the ink, older than 2000 years old?

  • Labyrinthus actually means not a complex structure. It means Doubled-Axed House ))) Know it?

  • Fascinating. Great info, thanks. 5*****

  • Did u see the minotaur???? i want to see bit some day or even the cyclops cuz we are learning greek mytholegy in soc. studies

  • which song is this?

  • Pink Floyd - "Let there be more light" (A Saucerful Of Secrets-1968)

  • This not the only place that the labyrinth exists!!!!The entire CRETE,IN A LABYRINTH!!!TSOUTSOUROS,INSIDE THE ASTEROUSIA MOUNTS,KERATOKAMPOS,and more!!!there lies the TRUTH of the world!!!THE GOLDEN BOAT!!!! THE GOLDEN TREES, THE ASCLEPION,the workshop of DAIDALOS,the ancient port with electricity, the U.F.O,the astrophysical finds, the pyramids, the secret of Epimenides, who slept for 57 years, inside the cave, and more!!!

  • this is not[correction].

  • Only God knows what "used to exist" in there, the whole of Crete is a labyrinth, Americans in the 60s have taken 6 trucks full of ancient archeological finds from the Tsoutsouros caves, and they paid to rebuild 3 universities in Greece! Can anyone imagine the value of these artifacts? Many of these artifacts are stored in the basements of the Heracleion museum too, and no one is talking about it, but we know, many Greeks know! Why are they hiden? Maybe it is time to show the world?

  • I used to play in there when I was a child....spooky!

  • i live in Moires city 2 Km from this place ....i remember my self when iam a kid with my friends to be in the Labyrinth and take small bombs and i sell them for the metal ...the Germans they have made Labyrinth a storeage full of weapens and when they lost the war the last day they destroy this 2000 years memory of Crete History ....now they come the sons of the wgho they make so many terrorism in our Country and they talk for "Crete History"...

  • Who ever sees this, i Know this scenery in real is overthrown with german mines, grenades and so on, and i know, its very dangerous to go there, I´ve plenty of photographs,

what a pity to say that germans destroyed this holy place, i am one of this nation, but it is interesting to see how it is possible to cut from this movie the thousands of weapons, that are lying there and that fact caused a lot of casualities after the war, but very nice music!

  • Wait, what did the germans have to do with the labyrinth? The answer should be interesting, seriously! :)

  • germans filled the labyrinth with bombs...

    Still there..

  • And why did they do that?

  • popo...auto dn ixera oti iparxei stin kriti!!

  • are there any ghosts there?...does anybody know?

  • Ghosts? After hearing about the Germans and now ghosts, this sounds like a very interesting place, more than I expected. :)

  • orea ta les, bravo!!

  • any grafetti becomes valuable after 1000 years.

  • Wow. imagine Ive been to Knossos several times and never knew about this. Geez! Next time, I'm going. I hope I dont get lost.

  • Are most of those inscriptions just vandalism from the last 100 years? I'm surprised such a famous spot is not better taken care of.

  • Absolutely amazing,is this under the Palace at Knossos?
