I never really thanked you for posting this. I am definitely a devotee, and I've known this for about 15 years... since I was a pre-teen. I also thought I was a total freak but now I don't think so. I am a female and I really don't know how many female vs male devs are out there. Never had the opportunity to love a disabled man.
Apparently--there are far more male devotees than female ones, though I have heard of several non-disabled women who are attracted to disabled men. Sites such as OverGround give some background on the phenomena, and there is more information available through links posted on DevGuide.
@RuthMadison It definitely seems that males are more open about their attraction to women who are physically different. I do not know why, in the more open society of the current era, that women who find disabled men attractive tend to keep it a secret.
Are they perhaps worried about scorn or ridicule?
They should not be--everyone is entitled to their preferences.
The disabled women I have known seem to be evenly divided in their acceptance of those who are attracted by their differences.
@351460 I believe that it is starting to change. I think we will soon see more women "coming out of the closet" about this. In fact, I hope to help them do so with the novels I write about the female dev experience!
im a lbk and i still get laid its no problem with girls it just depends on your attitude and how well physically your able to carry your self i dated a girl for 2 weeks and when the time came she took off my pants and saw that i was missing she was blow away that she didn't guess it or even noticed it before we laughed and had sex. later.
im in a wheelchair its just my feet that dont work and ive been single for almost a year now i find a lotta girls get put off by it im not sure why ive been told im attractive as a person so if thats the case why am i still single? who knows?
Hay man, great vid!! I've known about this hole thing for about 2 hours now and I've learned a lot. I agree with you. Why is it wrong to be atracted to someone who is disabled. when people say its wrong, they say it is wrong for a disabled person to be atractive. On the subject, is there a circle just as big for blind people as there is for amputees, parapleagics and quadrapleagics? I can't have you guys having all the action. Thanks for all the info. Great job!!!
The more videos of you I see, the more I think: 1. As you already have been told so many times, you are hotter than most guys, 2 When girls look at you, the weelchair thing must be the least relevant for them, since you're such a MAN and that is really difficult to find these days... love the grin at the end of your videos.
Is it really a *preference* for me as a PWD if the person could care less what I'm like as a person, as long as I've got four wheels? I think it's objectification, no different than guys for whom breast size is the only deciding factor for a sexual partner.
But then you're not talking about a Devotee you're talking about a person with a disability fetish. Or at least someone who is really shallow and can't see passed the physical like the guy who only cares about big breasts. A shallow dev will just want the wheels, a normal one will like the wheels but if you're an ass they don't want you. I know too many devs that are great to not call it a preference.
Though I think that you being a lady might get the more shallow devs giving you the most attention. Not that all straight male devs are shallow, guys are simply more visually stimulated and as a result are more interested in what they see. But I'm just speculating.
I thought so too.. I read somewhere that there are wayyy more male devs than female (although it's very common for women to be more comfortable with dating a guy with a disability whether they are devs or not), and it cetainly seems that way - I've seen so many of those trashy stealth youtube vids of women with disabilities and it creeps me out.
I dunno man... I think the difference between devotees and "preferences" is that devotees (at least some of them) need to see or be with someone with a disability (of their liking) to feel sexually satisfied.
wow, thanks man, i've just recently stumble upon this whole concept, and before i always just thought i was some kind of a freak b/c i find men in wheelchairs very attractive. iam pretty sure that iam a devotee (not a fetishist). theres this really cute guy who i go to college with in a chair, and i'd find him cute even if he wasnt, but i dont wanna just go up and talk to him bc i dont want him to think iam only talking to him bc of his chair...
I believe it's just physical disabilities. Though to be honest I'm not familliar with mental disability issues. But I'm sure there are people who have an attraction to the mentally disabled. I'm just don't know anything about it.
Wow ... I am disabled and did not know much about this topic. Worrying about such a thing kind of puts more of emphasis on our disability then our humanity. I totally agree with your point that being a devotee needs not be construed as a negative thing but i still am uncomfortable with the thought that someone maybe attracted to me solely on the bases of my disability. There is definitely more to me.
Thank you so much for this video. It is good to finally see someone coming out and saying something positive, intelligent and not-reactionary about devotees. I wish there were more like you in the world! I hope loads of people will see this video and realise the sense of what you say. Maybe one day devotees will be able to be open about their preference without fear of being labelled as "sick".
hey I really like guys like you, firsto fo all you are open minded and second you are very cute, I read in other place that you wanted to make more videos for us devotees, that is a great idea, maybe with guys like you being a devotee is going to be less complicated to accept and they will understand it isn't wrong it's just some kind of attraction. You are very handsome.
Your video has to be one of the best discussions on devotees i've heard. to be honest a lot of weight has been lifted off my shoulders hearing you say the things you say. Now all I need to do is find your gay clone and I'll be set, hehe...But either way, excellent vid!
I admit it, I have a hand fetish. All jokes aside, I think its great that you're sharing this stuff. I've learned so much more from you than from my own experiences in rehab and with a crippled mother.
Well I've learned a lot from all the other people I know in chairs too. And sometimes you just don't run across things that others do. I heard about this from a friend I've been talking too because she is a Dev.
So...this is my first ever comment on the YouTube site. I like the fact that you speak about this issues because it hardly gets any attention normally. It affects more people than anybody would think. Good job!
So would a devotee continue dating someone if the disability was overcome and/or altered? Would that not be the case with a disability fetish then I guess?
i agree that people do have a preference in whom they are gravitated to...physical qualities and all but that doesnt necessarily define the attraction...because other important areas or qualities can shine thru if those physical ones arent there....like sense of humor, brains, or a pleasant aura about them...or it could be that you're feeling the raging pheremones of the other resonating into you1...food for thought!...
A preference can be almost anything these days I think. And people do have preferences about personality. This video was just about devotees and why I think that it's perfectly normal. Thanks for the comment!!
I think you are FYNE!! in or out of the chair. To me the chair and disability has no bearing on how I see you. It just doesn't matter to me. You're still you. :)
@RuthMadison yes we are ;)

Yeah I think those videos are from fetishists with voyeuristic tendencies. They just think they're devs. But its a disability fetish.
