I love this song! It sounds just as pretty as the English version if not better!! I take Spanish II, and I'm using this to get me more used to listening to Spanish. It makes me really want to learn more. :3 Thanks for posting it! Oh, and would you happen to have a link to the Spanish lyrics by any chance?
The title of the song is the same in German I guess. I don't speak Spanish, I wish, I would have chosen it, when I could, but I chose Latin -.- Spanish is a beautiful language, even if they speak too fast in my opinion. :D
Yes, it's the same :) I've listened to the German version of this song (wich was really beautiful by the way) and I remember the title was 'Liebe triumphiert', wich means 'Love will triumph' right? just like in Spanish ('Triunfará el amor')
And, you think we speak too fast? Hmmm, may be we do... I don't know º.º I've always thought that German people speak fast too, hehe XD
@Kovu We do speak fast, but we don't notice it. Spanish is considered the second fastest by many studies, just right after Japanese, which is pretty reasonable because both languages sound kinda similar (I also study Japanese). The problem is, even if both of them are the fastest, they need more words to express what they want to say as opposed to other languages that are slower but can express more with just a few words :)
Really? Spanish and Japanese are considered the fastest languages? I didn't know that º_º (I didn't even know there were studies about the topic ^^' )
Well, I'm not sure if we actually use 'more' words, but I do think that our words are longer. I mean, in English, most words have one, two or maybe three syllables; while in Spanish it's quite common to use words with three, four or more syllables
@Kovu I should have said syllables instead of words n_n". It's more accurate :). If you type "fastest languages -programming" on google, you'll see some articles about it, but there isn't a lot. You can keep playing with words and type "Spanish is fast" or whatever comes to mind LOL. A lot of foreign people agree that it sounds. Sometimes I think in the Canaries we speak even faster, but I'm not sure. Have you heard it? If you have, how does it sound? I'm curious now xD
And by the way, you really think spanish and japanese sound similar?? Hmmm, I've never studied japanese, but I've listened to it in some anime videos, and I wouldn't say it sounds like spanish... idk
@Kovu I can't really be sure b/c being Spanish makes me unable to judge just by the sound, but there is a good chance they do at least sometimes since we have the same five vowels (although "u" it's a bit different) and we combined them with consonants pretty much the same way. So if you read now "onaka suita" (I'm hungry) the Spanish way, it would sound the same. But Spanish have more sounds and combines letter "r" with other consonants like "bra, tre..." Letter "r" in Japanese is softer, btw.
@idairatsuki In conclusion, for Spanish people is considerably easy to get to pronounce Japanese in an almost native speaker way, but it's a bit more difficult the other way around :)
Jajaja!
@Kovu that's because when you don't know a language perfectly or close to perfect, you unconsciously try to say every word in your head and translate it, and this makes it appear as they talk fast because you are comprehending it slowly.
And, about the words, I guess it happends with all songs when they are translated into other language: they have to change some words in order to fit the song rhythm
@victimofaguillotine yea, they could probably translate late it to wear it was if not exactly but very close to the english version, but then the words would sound weird with the song. they have to make them fit:) still the same overall meaning
Well, I don't think they're actually different dialects. Just different words and a different accent, but it's still the same language :) I guess it's similar to American and British English
@Kovu Yea, that's right spot. That "Untamo" is finnish male name (I'm Finn) , and it is a character in our national epic Kalevala. Thou, as a name, it's quite old, not in common use any more..
i think when / after kovu is singing it better then the english version (im english :D) but its so cool how the song is changed so mush in a different language , but then when there speaking normaly its almost the same (from what I've seen here ) =D ... ohh and by the way ... please dont think im weird cuz i look at songs in a different language XD
That's because, when they're speaking normaly, they can just translate what they say almost directly into another language.
However, when they sing, there is one extra problem: the rhythm of the song. And sometimes, the direct translation doesn't fit with that rhythm, so they have to change the lyrics.
Haha, don't worry! I don't think you're weird at all, why should I? :) I also like listening to other versions (the Italian version of this song is quite beautiful)
Uh, I comment on you a lot 'cause your greeeeaaaat!!!!
Hehe! well, he was happy about the idea of running away with Kiara to start their own pride, so he got quite shocked/dissaponited when Kiara said they had to go back.
Thanks for the comment! And by the way, your Spanish is good! :) Just one thing, "Kovu's face" in spanish is "la cara de Kovu" (not "Kovus cara")
yes i speak english, but i am latina from guatemala. but i was born and raised with english because i live in california, but my parents speak spanish so i know it and improving haha, muchas gracias por decirme eso! yo quiero hablar perfecto español!
You speak English, don't you? (I just checked that out in your channel, hehe)
Well, you're right, "juntos" means "together". But "juntos" is not the same as "junto a ti", wich means "with you","next to you","beside you" or "by your side".
But thanks for your comment anyway. I think it's a good thing that you noticed that detail! Your spanish is really good!!!
Well, you don't hear much of Simba's voice in this video (only at the beginning). May be you don't like it because he talks angrily to Kiara in this scene. Perhaps you'd like it in the "We are one" video
But, why did you say "calor secreto"? I guess you're talking about Kiara saying "..in my secret heart" in the english version, righ? Actually, "corazón" means "heart"
Hehe, you're welcome. I know spanish can be a difficult languange, probably more than english. But, as I said before, you're doing fine :) I wish you good luck with it!
I always find it a very ...I don't know how to say it...anyway, it makes sort of shiver and I really like it when Kiara says that Simba will never be like Mufasa. Maybe, it's because I'm sadistic...
Anyway, back to the subject, I really love this song O.o and I like it the most in: Italian, Spanish and French. In that order, that is :)
Haha, I know what you mean, and I don't think you're a sadistic. In that scene we see Kiara, probabbly the sweetest character, facing his father with such anger because she's fed up with him always trying to be like Mufasa. Besides, Kiara gets angry with Simba because Kovu and her love each other and Simba is too blind to realize.
The voices in this one are better than in the Latin American version... I love how Keara sounds! If only this Keara could sing with the Latin American Kovu XD
"Jamás" and "Nunca" have the same meaning. I guess "Jamás" is a little more emphatic (Kiara is quite angry talking to Simba here), but it normally makes no difference.
If I can ever help you again with any translation, just message me! :)
Thanks so much! I thought it meant never but wasn't sure, since I already knew nunca meant never. OMG I really can't stop watching this... too beautiful! x)
Anytime. This is sooo my favourite version and I really wanted to know what it meant! :p You don't by any chance have the spanish pop version, do you?
But, personaly (don't get angry), I DISLIKE the pop version: those 'singers' (from a spanish singing-realityshow) seemed to have no emotion, and this song deserves so much more!

Kiara: No! Él me quiere, por mí
Simba: Porque eres MI hija!

AnimalLuver079 2 years ago 8
That's because, when they're speaking normaly, they can just translate what they say almost directly into another language.
However, when they sing, there is one extra problem: the rhythm of the song. And sometimes, the direct translation doesn't fit with that rhythm, so they have to change the lyrics.
Haha, don't worry! I don't think you're weird at all, why should I? :) I also like listening to other versions (the Italian version of this song is quite beautiful)

And for all you who don't know spanish...
Ha! Ha! Ha! I love the part at 4 55! Look at Kovu's face!
trophyhunterbaby 3 years ago 2
Hehe! well, he was happy about the idea of running away with Kiara to start their own pride, so he got quite shocked/dissaponited when Kiara said they had to go back.
Thanks for the comment! And by the way, your Spanish is good! :) Just one thing, "Kovu's face" in spanish is "la cara de Kovu" (not "Kovus cara")
Kovu 3 years ago
cary994 3 years ago
Gracias por tu comentario!! :)

I like their voices and the lyrics are nice too :)

yes i speak english, but i am latina from guatemala. but i was born and raised with english because i live in california, but my parents speak spanish so i know it and improving haha, muchas gracias por decirme eso! yo quiero hablar perfecto español!
catsdontdance15 3 years ago
catsdontdance15 3 years ago
You speak English, don't you? (I just checked that out in your channel, hehe)
Well, you're right, "juntos" means "together". But "juntos" is not the same as "junto a ti", wich means "with you","next to you","beside you" or "by your side".
But thanks for your comment anyway. I think it's a good thing that you noticed that detail! Your spanish is really good!!!

Don't like very much Simba's voice...
SuperVanily 3 years ago
Well, you don't hear much of Simba's voice in this video (only at the beginning). May be you don't like it because he talks angrily to Kiara in this scene. Perhaps you'd like it in the "We are one" video
Kovu 3 years ago
Me gusta mas la version en ingles -.-"
elcervecero77 3 years ago
Kovu 3 years ago
KittyKraz13 3 years ago 2
I'm glad you like this version!!
You're learning spanish, aren't you? It seems you're doing really good!
But, why did you say "calor secreto"? I guess you're talking about Kiara saying "..in my secret heart" in the english version, righ? Actually, "corazón" means "heart"
"Calor" means "heat" or "hot"
Kovu 3 years ago
ya I am^^ Thanks :P Ya that's what I mean thanks for the correctiong :D
KittyKraz13 3 years ago 3
Hehe, you're welcome. I know spanish can be a difficult languange, probably more than english. But, as I said before, you're doing fine :) I wish you good luck with it!
Kovu 3 years ago
Ya it's pretty difficult :) Thanks though^^ Much appreciated. =]]]

In that order, that is :)
delivermypain 3 years ago
Haha, I know what you mean, and I don't think you're a sadistic. In that scene we see Kiara, probabbly the sweetest character, facing his father with such anger because she's fed up with him always trying to be like Mufasa. Besides, Kiara gets angry with Simba because Kovu and her love each other and Simba is too blind to realize.
So it's completely normal to get that shiver, :)
By the way, I'm so glad you like the video!

The voices in this one are better than in the Latin American version... I love how Keara sounds! If only this Keara could sing with the Latin American Kovu XD
SnowKaht 4 years ago 7
Well, I personally prefer this one too. But I think it's just because this is the version I've grown up with...

But I will probabbly do it, when I have some time (I'm studying for my exams by now)
Thanks for the request!!

Just curious, but what does "Jamas" mean? I think there's an accent in there somewhere, but I don't know how to make accents lol. =P
From the part where Kiara is talking to Simba. I've heard that word a million times and never knew what it meant =)
SarabiLioness 4 years ago 6
"Jamás" means "Never" (aswell as "Nunca").
"Jamás" and "Nunca" have the same meaning. I guess "Jamás" is a little more emphatic (Kiara is quite angry talking to Simba here), but it normally makes no difference.
If I can ever help you again with any translation, just message me! :)
Kovu 4 years ago
Thanks so much! I thought it meant never but wasn't sure, since I already knew nunca meant never. OMG I really can't stop watching this... too beautiful! x)

Thank YOU for your lovely comment!!
Kovu 4 years ago
Anytime. This is sooo my favourite version and I really wanted to know what it meant! :p You don't by any chance have the spanish pop version, do you?
ZacE4eva 4 years ago 9
Sorry, I don't have it.
But, personaly (don't get angry), I DISLIKE the pop version: those 'singers' (from a spanish singing-realityshow) seemed to have no emotion, and this song deserves so much more!
Anyway, thanks again for your comment!!!
Kovu 4 years ago
Lol! I can see what you're saying.
ZacE4eva 4 years ago 6
My favorite parts are "We have to look for it, It has to exist" [Kiara] and "That ideal world, You make it real" [Kovu]. TOO CUTE!
SarabiLioness 4 years ago 15
You're right. The voice actors sang with feeling in this song!!
Kovu 4 years ago
Yeah, the voices are quite cool :)
I'm glad you like it!!
Kovu 4 years ago
I love the voice actors in this one! Their voices are so... "pure" if that makes sense. Especially Kiara's, and Kovu's is SO cute! =P
SarabiLioness 4 years ago 15
Well, with such a beautiful song, it's not strange that the voices sound nice and cute :)
Kovu 4 years ago
