  • This song is really great, should be an 80´s Icon along with genesis´s mama and Lura branigan´s satisfaction...

  • Totally hot!

  • ERIC SINGER From KISS on Drums hahahaa

  • Boy does she ever rock that 80s look. Love the shoulder pads

  • Great hair! So 80s...

  • Great hair! So 80s...

  • Seriously. I love this song! And Soul Kiss has always been one of my favourite Olivia albums! +1

  • Haha you can REALLY hear her Aussie accent when she speaks during the song. Hilarious! Cute! lol

  • Did Olivia have a drug addiction era?

  • Debbie Gibson copied this same hairdo with the release of her 'Out of the Blue' debut album.

  • ah, the 80s, an era when the pop song and the metal "look" were married...and if they are going to put a "metal" looking band in the video, there has to be more guitar than just a tiny solo (and more crunch)...olivia looks great though...

  • magical sound from an amazing era

  • 2nd viewing..omg woman, if you want me for a menage with that brilliant classical pianist on synth, obviously a mu phi girl, woman...this is a solo, that real short one, i nailed it during my study years ago... but from the lyric, the seduction is into a 2 men/1 woman menage, a pas de duex??? the video is 2 women, 1 man.

to many players for a technopop band

  • she was 5 months pregnant with her daughter Chloe during filming of this video thats why she wore the over sized jacket and was shot from from above the chest or from a distance

  • That's current KISS Catman Eric Singer on the drums (there are two drummers; he's the one with the long hair and checkerboard shirt.) He's most visible around the 2:16 mark.

  • I like Olivia Newton John but this has to be one of the dumbest songs I've ever heard.

  • @aceraison Bahaha agreed. Is it about threesomes or a love triangle or something? That's all I can get from it. Really not an Olivia song.

  • Recognize the drummer? That's Eric Signer from Kiss :)

  • tHIS SONG HAS THE SAME THEME AS David Crosbys song Triad he wrote for the byrds in 1967

  • tori would have to be in her late 40's if that were her

  • gross

  • Is that Abby Ewing? LOL

  • Soul Kiss is on my mp3-player... and this song is one of my favorites... it's hard to face the many sides and facettes of Olivia. But since I love them all...she's so much more than great!

  • I always did like this song.. In fact, I loved the entire Soul Kiss album.

  • This is when ONJ started to buy into the 80's big hair, over-done excessive look. It's a shame because she blew the doors off any woman of her time without a drop of makeup. She seriously could wear a burlap sack and still win a beauty AND talent contest. Damn.

  • @rickdt1 I agree with you 100%!!!

  • she was pregnant in this video

  • Wow, look at Eric Singer (KISS, Alice Cooper, Black Sabbath) back there on drums!!

    I never would've guessed!!

  • Yeah, a very young Eric on drums, how cool.

He's on of my all time fav. drummers, together with Ian Paice of Deep Purple, and Neil Peart ofron Rush ;) .

I like his style and also his work on the new album of Kiss, and the Alice Cooper albums he played on.

  • Voce está linda nesse clip. Sua voz é única, parabens.

  • I love this song. Soul Kiss has always been one of my favourite Olivia albums!

  • @ukgladiatorsfan, "Soul Kiss" is my own favourite of Olivia. That album was impeccable from start to finish. Why it didn't become a huge smash is beyond understanding. It was slick, catchy, full of attitude, energetic and it includes some of her best ballads as well. Yes, it was racy in parts... but come on, this was the mid-80s, she was actually pretty tame compared to many other female artists !

  • I don't remember it all it been so long ago. In 1984 she lived with her husband Matt Lattanzi and a close female friend. Which started a lot of rumors.

  • "If I could go back and undo it If I had a time machine I'd make it unhappen like a bad dream"

  • I don't think it's about three ways, I think it's about loving another man while still loving her husband and hoping for the impossible. It's why she says 'it's not possible, is it?' in that whisper toward the end of the song.

  • i love when she goes its not gonna work IS IT ? she is soo prettyy . shes my HERO , i look up to her soo much . Im only 11 soo . GOO LIVVY !

  • i dont get this song . someone help mee ...

  • I didn't know there was a video for THIS! This song would have never charted; she must have been on drugs to do a song about THREE-WAYS!

  • Pru and me love livvy

  • love this song!!!!!=)

  • Awesome song and cool video.

  • for the time, this song was pretty contraversial....cool track! ty for post, havent seen in over 20 yrs!

  • so right she was quiet with it for the time

  • No offense, but this is a weak track and video from "Soul Kiss".

  • maybe is right, but this song is great

  • hot hot

  • My favorite pro-polyandry anthem!

Soul Kiss is ONJ's best album at least for me. Culture Shock should have a single with a hot dance remix.

  • What happened to Soul kiss in 1984, why it was not sussesfull?, if she was a big favorite among the public.

  • the sound was very synthetic (with all the synthesizers). the songs were just ok and the public didn't get into them. the lyrics and the look of the video is so not olivia either. my opinion anyway.

  • My guess is bc there was no tour for it. She didn't even do the talk show circuit for the album. I don't think. She was pregnant in the Soul Kiss vid I've heard. I think they couldn't maybe do as much for the vids bc she was pregnant, but you can't tell cause it's still a great vid. She may preg in this one too.

  • she was preg in most of the soul kiss vid and if you look closely you could tell specially in the soul kiss vid itself and thats also the reason why she wore those large jackets...love it

  • Interesting. My mum and I were watching this collection the other night, and noticing how strange some of the wardrobe choices were. That explains it! (Could her shoulders look any bigger in this vid?!)

  • EXCELLENT TRACK FROM SOUL KISS.

  • she looks like Donna Mills...LOVE the hair!

  • Even hotter!

  • I don't like that hair.

But that song is very 80's, she wrote pieve of history.

  • wow, she looks like Morgan Fairchild! lol

  • I love this song and have been searching for it for years now. I had the "tape" many yrs ago and it was stolen...this brings back so many memories...Rock on Olivia!

  • This video is awesome it really is. She's got two drummers and 2 axe men. Two guys look like they are form Ratt and the other 2 from Flock Of Seagulls. She, herself gots a Lita Ford thing going on, yet the song sounds very tame. She's the best aspect of this video.

  • The drummer is Eric Singer from KISS

  • Interesting fact.

  • hmm...I like the video and the clothes better than the song lol.

  • It was hard to tell the men from the women in the bands of the 80's. Clothes and hairstyles were all over the place. I know men bands that had this same look and sound. The Bonnie Tyler(Total Eclipse of the Heart) hair and Lynda Evans (Dynasty) shoulder pads in itself today would be a Culture Shock.

  • A great song from what was far and away my favorite of her albums. Sexy and eclectic. Ahead of its time.

  • This is just SO bad it's brilliant. Anyone got Toughen Up?

  • Lol, it is horrid. Whoever made Olivia sing this should be severely punished, if he's still alive, that is.

  • What a terrible song!

  • I agree, it sounds like it's being made up as it goes along - it's all over the place.

  • I think it is great. Nice beats and sexy lyrics.

  • Have you never been mellow? Have you never lived with two other people at the same time? What! Culture Shock! We are only as good as the roommates we choose, right? Great song! It does tempt the brain into a chaotic thinking process. If you stray from sanity, just listen to Have you never been mellow again and you will be back to your wholesome self. We are all innocent when we want to be.

  • I really enjoy playing this album in my car. One of her best.

  • Listen to this song twice or three times and then you'll feel it much better.

    Def. a good song!

  • i don't know, i think its pretty good. not her best, but definatly not her worst

  • I agree. This wasn't my favorite album by her.I think I was shocked back then. She never needed to sell herself. She was and is great just being her.But this is so mellow by todays standards-kind of laugh about it now.

  • A few of you have mentioned Stevie Nicks. She actually looks here like a combination of Nicks, her bandmate Christine McVie (same hair length and straight style), and Morgan Fairchild.

  • OLIVIA could have been as big as STEVIE NICKS

but she was not as WILD but she is a total star and she one of the greatest female vocal

singer and also one of the greatest looking one at that WAT A FOX SHE WAS HERE AND YES A TOTAL GREAT LOOKING ROCK STAR QUEEN

  • One of Olivias best looks here. She looks like a rock star.

  • I think she looks great too! This was the look she sported on the cover of the Toughen Up single sleeve.

  • Most people in the uk i think never even realised olivia could do pop/rocklike the track here. She seemed to sick in peoples minds as being sweetie girl next door middle of the road. Olivia is a very adaptable artist even now, she could still go from spirtual songs to pop and back again if she really wanted to.

  • I read where Olivia looks back at this album and said that she didn't know who that person is on the front cover - meaning that it was way out of character for her. This album was the beginning of the Madonna era. I'm glad Olivia decided to pass that baton on to Madonna. Olivia is a very classy and beautiful singer with a heart of gold. That's why she's so loved by many. I like Madonna's music, but you have to admit she went places noone would dare to go for the sake of controversy.

  • You're LOSER!!!

  • love ONJ but this was the beginning of her popularity ending musicly....wher have you gone olivia we miss ya!

  • You are right on!!

  • Olivia rocks!!!!

  • You're wrong. If you look at video clips from the 1980's, you can see that Stevie had very similar 1980's hair styles. Obviusly, Stevie has had her own signature look which she kept updating but prety much the same look. You might be talking about an overall look. I am talking about hair style. Stevie has always had long thick hair, but it has gone from straight to fethered to permed to teased and back to straight.

  • This video and song are totally awesome. OLIVIA is totally hot............

  • When she did this video and the others for the Soul Kiss LP, she was pregnant with Chloe, so the "power jacket" is a bit oversized. Check out the angles and flowing clothes in the video to Soul Kiss.

  • she was pregnant for sure u can tell on the soul kiss video by her tummy she was

  • omg that sucked and i love olivia

  • LOL...hysterical!

  • by the way, Olivia fans...my "LOL--hysterical!" comment was not directed at this video or Olivia. It was at one of the other posts.

  • It was THE look for women on TV, Music videos, and the movies. Everyone from Donna Mills (TV) to Cher (movies) to Linda Ronstadt & Stevie Nicks & Pat Benatar (music) had this look. Where were you in the eighties that you don't remember this? Hello?

  • huh? Sorry but the Stevie Nicks comparison doesn't hold water. Stevie has had her signature look since the 1970's and still has it. I LOVE OLIVIA. But Stevie Nicks has her own genre and always has.

  • Although she did have even BIGGER hair in the mid-to-late 80s. Check out the videos for "Talk To Me", "I Can't Wait", and "Rooms On Fire"....

  • You mean Stevie Nicks...

  • LOL yeah

  • Eric Singer's floofy days .....love it! Aussie chicks rock usually!

  • this video is so funny, it looks like they're JAMMING hard, and the song sounds like, well... like it does. not one of her better songs. Love the "why can't the 3 of us live together", lol.. thanks for the vid!

  • All WrongÇ??' Dude .. How old are you? THAT was "the look" at that time.. please... Dou you remember Heart and others??..

  • Even Agnetha Faltskog looked a bit like that. Grace Slick, Kim Carnes, Kim Wilde...Grace Jones looked like that on steroids! Even Amy Grant had a chick jacket. This was the "dress for success" look of the 1980's or something. Those were also the daze when hair was worn as a hat, do remember : )

  • I thought she looked bad THEN in this video, and I've always thought the song sucked. Huge Olivia fan though. Now see, she looked great in her "Soul Kiss" video, which notably was at the same time. She just had an awful stylist for this video.

  • hey Eric, never knew you did that song playing drums.....

  • Eric singer on drums

  • Excellent!

  • This is just all wrong...the hair, the clothes, the song! Not one of her finer moments. The rest of the Soul Kiss album rocks though.

  • Tori Spelling?

  • Can it be Tori? Let me watch it again. Just did, can't tell, kinda looks like her that's for sure

  • @patmc82 Seeing as Tori Spelling would've been about 12 when the video was filmed, I think we can safely say no, it's not her.

  • hey whats the name of the female keyboard player

  • Hmm, don't think it's anyone famous.

  • I love this song. Culture Shock was very sexual in its lyrics. Asking the question, "why can't the 3 of us live together?' But, I loved the Soul Kiss album and this was a good rock cut off the album. The guitar solo is pure rock and very hot. If you give it a chance, its really a good song. Olivia rocks!

  • Soul Kiss did not get the recognition it deserved. Love ONJ!
