@tiskju slovak wasn't entirely funk though he was more of a rock guy he only played funk as an experiment. Mind you i do agree in John's first two CDs with RHCP he admits he was trying to emulate sovak but by BSSM he decided to make his own sound.

I know if you have to ask, I even play it with my band ! the thing is that that kind of rythm can be found in many songs, but john doesn't seem to like too much to do those kind of chords in the blood sugar era, so they really don't mix, personally i believe it's a bad interpretation, and this video should be called '' Funk Groove Guitar Lesson ''

I think Subway to venus is a more accurate guess, but I still wouldn't go for that name for the title of the video, since Mothers milk doesn't really have lots of tunes that sound like subway to venus, neither does blood sugar, where most of john's agressive and dry funk rythms are.. but i really do appreciate your responses, even if i don't coincide with them :D
