That was the most gross and extreme misrepresentation of the testimony of Kurt Wise. He did not compare the Bible to science, he compared it to macro evolution and old earth. If Mr. Dawkins would read some of Mr. Wise’s articles he would see that he strongly believes science and the Bible line up perfectly!
Atheistic scientists do the exact same thing as creation scientists do. And that is interpreting the evidence based on their world view.
@oki1991 That had got to be one of the most stupid arguments I've ever heard. You're saying that if the bible was wrong, than god would have interfered a long time ago. *Facepalm* The bible is wrong, that's WHY there's no 'interference' because it doesn't exist. If the bible is right, usig your logic, there should be no other religion. How is something written as fact proof for anything?
I believe Kurt Wise made the right decision ! I as a Biology student in Switzerland have heard a lot... far to much about evolution and the theory of a old earth, and I honestly have to say that what is written in the holy scripture is the truth and the ultimate evidence for creationism. If the Bible was wrong... wouldn't have God interfered a long time ago and ? And who would know better about our past than the creator himself ? Well, we will know the truth after death. God bless you !
@oki1991 You sir are an uneducated fool. Research the writing and compiling of the Bible. It is nothing more than the superstitious ramblings of men with less knowledge than an average 5th grader. If complex designs call for a creator...then who created the Creator? You promote an illogical premise and then cannot argue to support it.
@greenarcher180 And once again there's someone who lacks of experience at religion/God. All of you people just try finding some kind of misleading interpretations, wheter it is science or just a lovely fairy tale someone came up with, just because you don't like to accept that there's a God or Creator. In fact, even if there was evidence for divine existence (there will certainly never be scientifical evidence), you'd still deny the fact of an existing God. Education leads to fools like you.
@greenarcher180 -- Can you back up your statement, "...the superstitious ramblings of men with less knowledge than an average 5th grader..."? You suggest that you have researched this yourself. Thx.
@greenarcher180 It seems that a great many scientist don't agree with you modern science was built on the backs of Christian Scientist; Copernicus, Sir Francis Bacon, Kepler, Gallileo, Descartes, Pascal, newton, Boyle and Francis Collins(head of the human genome project) so your If your contentions are true about only the uneducated would believe in the bible then modern science itself is for fools for without Christians modern science would not exist in it's present form
@lejohnson2 And to your second contention "who created God" whatever created this Cosmos must not be bound be the same physical laws that are built into creation itself.....Time, Space, and Cause and effect meaning that you can't create time and be bound by it....The God of the Bible is Immaterial, Eternal, and Un-caused. Basic Logic would tell you that you can't create time and then be bound by those same laws.
@antiochwichita And that evidence is? Keep in mind that he is a Young Earth Creationist because he rejects the evidence, not because there is a lack of it. He has even said that even if the entire universe had evidence against it, he would still put his literal interpretation first.
He doesn't tell the whole story of Kurt Wise's testimony. He did not throw out his career as a scientist. He found evidence of creation and against evolution. He also continues to teach and research.
@antiochwichita I can safely say, there is not a single piece of evidence against evolution, not a single shred. If you think there is, please present it and let us examine it.
@antiochwichita indeed, he does continue to teach... but what he teaches is young Easrth Creationist garbage, any science that contradicts that belief... he throws it out.

i am right at the verge of tears. when he said he tossed his dreams into the fire, i could barely stop myself from crying. i have felt that pain but i have over come it. its not sad when someone dies. its sad when someone's potential is wasted on something that was forced on them and has gotten them nowhere in life and what they could have had was truth.
This leaves me, as a scientist, speechless... We have it on the authority of a man who may well be creationism’s most highly qualified and most intelligent scientist that no evidence, no matter how overwhelming, no matter how all-embracing, no matter how devastatingly convincing, can ever make any difference.
Kurt Wise's career was not destroyed by religion, it was destroyed by his own naivety. There is no were in the Bible that tells you to ignore evidence.
@Nilguiri: Atheist regimes have killed _so_ many people necause they wouldn't relinquish faith in God. You might try looking into that. But anyone who actually _believes_ Jesus isn't going to persecute anyone.
I think the fact that Kurt Wise's office burned, along with all his work, probably had a detrimental effect on his career, as well. I wonder if Dawkins (etc) was as brokenhearted about that?
This is indeed a very sad story. Until recently I didn't take this stuff about childhood indoctrination all that seriously. But after encountering so much brilliant rhetoric from atheists and seeing that it is so frequently of no effect on theists...
That would cause real problems for religion, wouldn't it?
Making sure children are not imprinted with religion until they're able to critically think.
or
Have children role play, honestly, what they would believe if they were raised by say, Hindu parents. And then explain regional religious trends in social studies based on imprinting statistics.
The next best things are books with tales of children of other religions to empathize and contrast with.
@Scarlettelmo I don't know man maybe you should feel empathy and sadness not hate towards someone like Wise. To be so totally brain washed as he apparently is , is not something to be made fun of IMO. It's pretty cruel that children can be brought up so religious that they can't shake off the bronze age superstitions planted in them even as adults. But you can make fun of the idiotic beliefs he holds though
Why are trolls and morons like 5tinyvvvv so fond of random capitals and writing 'LOL' all the time? I can understand it when the can't manage syntax, punctuation or connected sentences, but they all seem to think 'LOL' is an argument of some kind.
@KapStuf They also seem to think the phrase: "whether you believe it or not" is some kind of powerful weapon in a debate. For example, "You are hell-bound... whether you believe it or not" What could be more lame?
@Scarlettelmo ..You think chemicals are just put into a test tube and you have RNA LOL..everything is carefully watched at just the right TEMPERATURES!!! activated..with subunits to start it and bases along with million dollar synthesizing machines.to COPY information just to get it started!!!..these are CONTROLLED EXPERIMENTS!!! How dumb can you be?.. RNA arising...LOL more like plagiarizing information ..cut and paste MORON!!!...LOL!..
@Scarlettelmo Stubborn ignorance..what do we see in nature dummy..life arises from life..never non living assembling into life? ever!!..francis crick and fred hoyle both have said abiogenesis is mathematically impossible but still stubbornly were atheist ..you also have ZERO Testable repeatable chemistry to back up abiogenesis..no one has ever been able to assemble amino acids into anything.which should be simple..primitive cells never existed
@Scarlettelmo Do you know how unstable proteins and RNA are??..they break down under amazing conditions in the perfect solutions under the supervision of scientists protecting it,at just the right temperatures....so you really think a protein could survive on a poisonous toxic primordial earth.LOL..
@Scarlettelmo No, abiogenesis would require an infinite amount of time but by then your protein would break down and fall apart ..even if they did form what would protect them in a harsh primordial earth? ?..plus where is your molecular machines?..to assemble information??..proteins RNA? and DNA are completely useless without out the enzymes and cytoskeleton...major paradox..you have assumptions ..just like the scientists you look up to..that have really no clue how life started or evolved!!
@Scarlettelmo Impossible still ...like Fred Hoyle says I feel like some one has monkeyed with physics and chemistry..he was a militant atheist..,you are going against a well established law of biogenesis..louis pasteur..proved it wrong in the time of Darwin..stanley miller proved it impossible because of Homochirality.and with Toxic tar and unusable amino acids .and all we are doing today is copying information like what Venter did..abiogenesis is IMPOSSIBLE..you have Faith it happened!!
@Scarlettelmo I know your not allowed to question Darwin's bullshit and evolution and abiogenesis If evolutionists had optically pure DNA, RNA, and amino acids, they would still have nothing. In fact, the energy needed to form the bonds to make the macromolecules necessary for a cell, will destroy any DNA, RNA, and amino acids that are outside of a cell.
@Scarlettelmo to get amino acids to self assemble is impossible..there is no natural process.to make a cell evolve ..it would be easier to build the space shuttle..blindfolded while riding a unicycle..
@Scarlettelmo Even with all the Proteins and DNA and RNA ...What would you do with it??..from there you have zero molecular machines, zero assembly instructions...all this stuff would just float away in some primordial soup and break down..and it would be the same thing in a test tube.
@Scarlettelmo You have a energy information problem..lets say you have all necessary proteins DNA RNA.enzymes to make a cell..the paradox is..In order for digital code to be precise,and information to be processed correctly..you need the molecular machines,the factories inside the cell.assembling information..these systems are the very things..that live inside the cell.they harness the energy..its an uphill? struggle.I dont think you understand..no natural process can achieve this.
@Scarlettelmo Dawkins is a stubborn moron.. If evolutionists had optically pure DNA, RNA, and amino acids, they would still have nothing. In fact, the energy needed to form the bonds to make the macromolecules necessary for a cell, will destroy any DNA, RNA, and amino acids that are outside of a cell.
As usual Dawkins is talking bollocks. Dr Kurt Wise did NOT give up science. He is a brilliant Scientist who still works as a scientist. Despite his His knowledge of geology made it easy for him to reject Darwinism because the facts do not support it. I would strongly suggest that people listening to this Dawkins dribble check out what Dr Wise actually said!!
@jeepsterrr Wise has a BA from Chicago and an MA from Harvard, so why is he teaching at Bryan College Dayton Surely he would want his findings taught at the highest possible seats of learning, why would Wise have to teach at a bible school? is it because a bible school faculty won't question his spurious findings? It aways makes me smile when creationists pour plaudits on "scientists" with PhD's from Dave's bible school & Griil, but they want their brain surgeons to graduate from real collages
@hughjarrse I wonder if you have a brain yourself. The reason Wise is not teaching at one of the so called "higher" seats of learning is that they will not tolerate anyone who dares to question Darwinism. You know that full well. It is clearly the case. The strategy. Bar dissenters from the top universities then use the fact they are not teaching there as evidence against them. Natural selection is a fact, but it does not support the Darwinian fairytale.
@hughjarrse "Wise has a BA from Chicago and an MA from Harvard" that ain't enough to teach at a major university. Gotta have a Ph.D. and actually know some science.
It's so sad, really. The bulk of mankind, throwing it all away for superstition and myth. Myth, presented as fact. Superstition as science. Religion as the truth.
"What chance have we got when the indoctrination, the imprinting of childhood, leaves a mind so wrecked as that?"
Most of the best secular logicians hold that science doesn't yield absolute truth like David Hume with the problem of induction. Well, it comes down to Plato vs. Aristotle. Plato would hold it completely rational to hold a principle as truth as long as it is consistent with other principles, regardless of the evidence. Even Bertrand Russell was torn on this point.
If religion destroyed Kurt Wise's science career, it made Bernhard Riemann's career and Raymond Damadian's career. Religion can be very very good even if it's false. Lots of things are false and useful.
Does the age of the Earth really make that big of a difference in most practical uses of science?
How much of Dawking's books would he have to cut out if he took an honest look at the actual evidence without his athiestic and evolutionary assumptions?
Examine your prejudices and let the bare evidence lead you to truth.
"How much of Dawkins' books would he have to cut out if he took an honest look at the actual evidence without his athiestic and evolutionary assumptions?"
Nothng at all. Zero.
What assumptions? Have you ever actually read anything by Dawkins?
Why exactly can't one be a scientist & a believer ?
I personally could care less about religion but I'm perplexed why this guy left science all together??!! Science gave us things such as the morning after pill, Advil, the Internet AND the nuclear bomb .... Hallelujah!
@FranklenWylder Because at the end of the day, when they are both reduced to what they really are, they are deemed incompatible. For me, I think religios people should embrace the metaphoric value of scripture as the ultimate justification for their belief instead of taking on scientists. They will ALWAYS lose that battle.
"Why exactly can't one be a scientist & a believer ?"
Because science is based on evidence. Religion is based on faith and dogma which means sticking to an idea DESPITE all of the overwhelming evidence to the contrary.
That, exactly, is why science and religion are incompatible.
That makes a lot of sense, but, how do you explain people who are scientist & believers of some sort of religion as well? I've often wondered how that works seeing as how I have zilch spiritual faith.
No, it wasn't difficult... is refraining from being condescending difficult?
Sorry, it wasn't my intention to be condescending.
I think these religious scientists must compartmentalize their religious views from their rational thinking and inquisitiveness, especially in places like the US where theism it is socially accepted as "normal".
They seem able to suspend disbelief at the same time as they are able to suspend belief. Personally I find them to be imcompatible and I am unwilling to entertain the idea of something that logic and evidence rule out.
@FranklenWylder Nilguiri's post on religion was almost pure fiction. Nearly all religions, even false ones have far more evidence than atheism does for example and most have more evidence than there is for evolution. Check my Genesis Conflict and "Come Search with Me" playlists for TINY bit of the evidence, Dr. Veith (Genesis Conflict) was a virulent atheist convinced by evidence to become a creationist. The Dr. in the other playlist also became a Christian due to evidence.
@Nilguiri You could not be more wrong. The Bible is based on tons of evidence, literally billions of pieces and it is pure ignorance to say that it is only faith. That is blatantly falsehood of stupendous magnitude. Time and time again God tells people they can test what he says for themselves and check the evidence and only AFTER that are they asked to have some faith...as is required in any relationship and which also exists in science (and atheism is nearly 100% faith).
Atheism is faith? To be an atheist is to reject faith, by definition, and the antithesis of faith. I think that faith makes you intellectually lazy. Investigation and science are the way to find out what the universe is about, not lazy, childish faith.
What do you mean, "the bible is based on evidence"? If you are saying that there is evidence to support SOME of the bible's historical claims, then you are obviously right, but no more than that.
@Nilguiri It is absolute foolishness to think that faith makes you lazy. Galileo said that God gave us a mind and he intended us to use it. Faith has inspired numerous scientific discoveries both directly and indirectly. We have faith in teachers, in parents, textbooks, and they help us to gain wisdom (when they are accurate). The Bible has directly and indirectly inspired many areas of historical AND scientific discovery as well as important philosophical foundations of modern science.
@Nilguiri ALL use faith, esp. atheists.Atheists use almost 100% faith (more than even most false religions),since there is no testable evidence at ALL for abiogenesis. Atheism only has speculations upon guesses upon fantasies and that's it. Same goes for much of the rest of their explanations for how life has evolved which is almost all based on speculative evidence(evolutionists and atheists aren't the same, but they ARE closely connected).Christianity is ~80% based on evidence,~20% faith.
What nonsense. Atheism is the absence of faith, you moron.
"Atheism only has speculations.. upon fantasies" ? What hypocrisy! haha!
Christianity is based upon 80% evidence. In what world are you living?
There is very little evidence that Christ even existed and NONE of any gods. THAT is pure fantasy. What ignorant bullshit!
It is not known exactly how abiogenesis occured, but we are working on it. You gullible conformists are not in the slightest bit interested in the facts.
@Nilguiri Your definition of atheism is only accurate in terms of modern atheism, and it came to this definition because spontaneous generation and abiogenesis have completely failed scientifically and been falsified. Atheism for centuries was an aggressive rejection that gods exist. This is what the Stanford Encyclopedia of philosophy says. But, it really doesn't matter what definition of atheism you use. None are scientific. None have even the 1st of evidence.
"spontaneous generation and abiogenesis have completely failed scientifically and been falsified"
No they haven't.
We understand more than ever about heredity and the history of DNA and RNA. As I said We are stlll investigating and the idea HAS NOT been "falsified" as you suggest.
Why is there nothing about DNA in the bible? Becasue it was written by ignorant men thousands of years ago who knew nothing of science, obviously.
@Nilguiri I have right now ~400 videos of evidence on my channel.Check my playlists, esp. Come Search with me, the Genesis Conflict, the health one and historical ones.Nobody who is honest¬ ignorant can say there is no evidence.
SG&abiogenesis have been falsified, esp. SG. I've been to leading researchers websites on abiogenesis, they have great faith and that's about it. They're claims are basically like saying that since water and mud can combine, a whole city can spring up by chance.
Science doesn't work on faith. To say that scientists have faith that their theory is pure ignorance.
Have you even heard of the scientific method? I can assure you that faith plays no part.
Scientists want to get to the truth and if abiogenesis is disproved, then scientisit will be nearer to the truth. Nobody has a vested interested in any one theory being true.
Maybe the religious should have a vested interest in their fairy stories, but faith prevents them worrying about facts.
@Nilguiri You are also completely ignorant if you think scientists don't have vested interest and detached from reality. I have worked as an editor of academic papers and know many cases where there is pride, ego, vested interest, bias in academia in many fields. This is a reality. Common people are blinded by propaganda. Most in academia know it's a lie. Becoming a scientists doesn't immunize you from pride or ego. That's just stupid to think it does.
@Nilguiri btw, abiogenesis research has failed for ~a century. How many billions of dollars are we supposed to pour into useless research while children are dying every day for their basic needs? This is flat out immoral, far worse than your misrepresentations of the Bible that are due to ignorance and trusting critics who don't care about accuracy or any sort of fairness. Atheism can't say anything about morality. It was atheists regimes who killed over 100 million in the last century.
Morals come from god??? That bullshit really pisses me off!
Atheist regimes did not kill anybody on the name of atheism. It did so because they were assholes. (Yes, there are atheist assholes, too, not just religious ones)
However... how many people have been killed directly in the name of religion?
And Hitler was a catholic, btw.
Can you give a moral statement uttered by a person of faith that could not be taken or uttered by a non-believer?
Yes... That's what we believe. I see you have a good grasp of science.
What a joke.
If there was evidence for your nonsense, it would be science, by definition.
Nobody is saying that mud and water can produce life unless that "mud" that you scientifically describe contains the so-called "building blocks" for life, i.e. some sort of possibility of "descent with modification", a basic form of heredity.
@Nilguiri God did it is yet another straw man. U seem to know them all. The mud&water is comparable to what abiogenesis scientists like Dr. Jack Szostak are claiming (I've read some of his research and read quite a bit on his site). They have seen that amino acids can combine from chemicals. Congrats. Students know chemicals can combine. Amino acids combining does NOT mean a whole cell can be created by chance anymore than mud and water combining mean a city can come by chance.
@Nilguiri Um, I know evolution FAR better than you know creation. I read books by Stephen Jay Gould and people like him in my undergrad classes. I've watched literally 100s if not thousands of atheists and evolutionists videos..and am currently reading "Your Inner Fish". If I have misconceptions about evolution, it's the fault of the top evolutionists in the world.
Um, most atheist regimes killed people explicitly because they were religious. I have many primary sources on this.
what do you mean "know creation" there is nothing to know!
It is like saying that I don't know the Grimm fairy tales. Learning a work of fiction by heart doesn't make it any truer. It is still fiction even if you study it all your life.
@Nilguiri "what do you mean "know creation" there is nothing to know!"
-
I'm not going to waste time with you if you insist on willful ignorance. Watch my playlist on the Genesis Conflict or the creation evidence for laymen if that Genesis Conflict is too deep for you (the laymen one has better graphics). When you have watched either of those playlists, then maybe we can talk on an intellectual level. Right now you are just too uninformed justify conversation.
Then please don't waste any more time with me. I'm sure you have better things to do, like go and receive an award or a recommendation from an intellectual colleague who will tell you how intelligent you are.
Good for you! You must be very proud.
Reserving your conversation for people who believe in the same bullshit as you will undoubtedly make you even smarter.
"it doesn't matter what definition of atheism you use. None are scientific."
Atheism is not based on evidence for the lack of gods as you seem to think, but on the lack of evidence for the existence of gods.
It's every bit as scientific as the lack of belief in Santa Claus or the tooth fairy.
The onus of proof is not on the atheist, but on the theist. As I imagine you know, there is no proof for god. That's why you need faith. I prefer evidence and logic over superstition.
@Nilguiri Saying "I lack belief" has many problems.
1) It is not some magic potion word that makes you immune to having to provide evidence for your worldview.
2) As soon as someone provides one evidence of what you doubt...you lose by the rules of science.
The "lack belief" thing is an anti-rational and anti-scientific copout, usually used by people who have emotional reasons for not wanting to follow evidence.
"As soon as someone provides one evidence of what you doubt...you lose by the rules of science."
Correct. That is about the only reasonable and accurate thing that you have said!
When there is the slightest bit of evidence for it, it will become science. It has not happened. I doubt that it ever will, but if it does, I will cease to call myself an atheist.
@Nilguiri "Why is there nothing about DNA in the bible?"
There are actually strong hints to it and or unseen and invisible structures in a couple places. But,
1) The Bible's purpose is not to explain all science. If God told us everything in the Bible, why would he need to make a brain. How could we enjoy the thrill of discovery?
2) If the Bible had stated that overtly, for millenia people would have mocked it for being false even though it was correct since they had no way to detect DNA.
@Nilguiri The Bible does say some things in scientific areas&it has been the direct and indirect inspiration for a host of innovations and discoveries as well as new fields in science. Just 5 Christian scientists saved ~2 billion lives. Nobody else has come anywhere close to that. So many streams of evidences. Start watching some of my videos. It's not just for eternity. It directly concerns your quality of life NOW. Bible health principles add 10+ years to the lives of those who follow them.
Bible health? Does that include stoning you children to death if they disobey you?
That doesn't sound very healthy for the children.
What about the rules for beating your slaves. Well, I suppose that is good for the slaves that they can't be beaten to death. Although if they take 2 days to die, that's allowed.
What about offering up your daughters to be raped? Another recipe for adding 10+ years to your life?
You really are clutching at straws! If is both pathetic and amusing.
@Nilguiri Congrats, you know canards and straw men that have been debunked or explained long ago. Is that the best you can do? Are you interested in being objective, looking at hard evidence at all? I'm not interested in a dialogue with someone who doesn't care about science and evidence.
I didn't say all science was faith. But, ALL science DOES rest on faith called axioms that are unproveable. Real scientists of all types know this and admit this. Have you ever worked in academia like I do?
No, I have not, and yet I seem to have a greater understanding of what science is than you do. If you are in "academia" then, with respect, you should get you act together or get out. There is no room for ignorance and lies like yours in "academia".
@Nilguiri You know NOTHING about me or my work.I work with doctors who won the #1 prize in the world a couple years ago in the annual worldwide ENT conference. You have not the least bit of position on which to judge anything. I'm just rushing off replies here (and losing sleep to do it since I'm sooo crazy busy with my paying job). Yes, science is supposed to be a method to get to the truth&it often works VERY well. But, politics, money, pride and bias of different types sometimes hamper that.
@Nilguiri But, I didn't say atheists can't be moral. While God is the only source of morality and no one would even have a thought to do good without Him and no one would even breathe without Him, you don't have to be Christian to be moral. I know some very admirable and moral atheists. But whenever atheisms has been the official worldview of a nation, it's been extremely murderous, cruel and oppressive to human rights. NO EXCEPTIONS. The atheistic system is an enemy of human freedom.
A) That's far more prevalent among Catholics since they violate the Bible in numerous ways and are a sister to atheism in that they reject many Bible doctrines and replace them with man's traditions violating Mark 7:5-13. Again, there are admirable individuals, but the system is very wrong.
B) There are teachers, scientists, politicians who rape and do crimes as well. Should we get rid of science, education and govt? That's what your principle means.
OK, I was being flippant. If "god" were real, a few thousand rapist priests wouldn't make it any less real.
I was making the point that although one or two scientists may have a vested interest in their "pet" theories; however science has a built in mechanism for rejecting these theories: peer review.
A theory is only a theory until it is shown to be false.
This concept doesn't exist in religion and much of it is made up as they go along. (e.g. the assumption of the "virgin")
@Nilguiri I also have great recommendations from fellow professors and students and have worked in both secular and Christian universities. There are no lies in what I say. I hate lies more than you can possibly imagine. I lost $150,000 due to dishonest business partners and it nearly destroyed my marriage and so much else. You just don't have the faintest idea how cruel lies have been to me. I vehemently oppose them. But, I have made mistakes. I'll thank you if you find any and correct them.
@Nilguiri Recommendations are based on the quality of work you do and on how much my students have achieved and what the other professors and SECULAR chair of the dept. saw in the results of my work. I can't believe I have to explain this to you. This is not a rational discussion at present. No offense to you. You may be smart and intelligent in other areas, but you are completely uninformed in this topic. Do some objective investigation starting with Genesis Conflict if you like science.
@Nilguiri I OFTEN listen to & dialogue about top thinkers who think differently than me such as Hitchens, Gould, Dawkins&many others. I've suggested you listen to top thinkers in creation/Christianity like Dr. Veith's Genesis Conflict series on my channel. You refuse to do even the smallest objective investigation. There's no point in talking to you if you insist on willful ignorance. This has nothing to do with arrogance.It has to do with being objective & rational and open minded to evidence.
@Nilguiri When you refuse to look at evidence in depth, that's willful ignorance. Do you really think 500 character commments on youtube is going to change anyone's mind? Don't be so naive. You need to spend significant time watching well developed,written,produced evidence,arguments,etc. To even post a short peer reviewed article would take 100 youtube comment postings or so and I just do NOT have the time for that. Isn't it worth your time to find out how the Bible adds 10+ years to THIS life?
How about you stop stop telling me what I need to do. I would say that it is you are extremely confused and who needs to get your ideas straight., not me. And no, I am not interested in what the damn bible has to say about adding 10 years to my life. If I thought the bible had anything interesting to say about ANYTHING, then I might be interested. However, what I have seen of the bible is that it is full of evil nonsense.
Anyway I can be pretty sure what it is going to say about how to live 10 years longer. It is going to give the same answer that it has for everything... i.e Stone somebody to death, wipe out an entire people, sacrifice my son, or somesuch hateful, bigoted, disgusting and offensive shit.
As I said, I am a decent person. I am neither a racist, a rapist, a murderer, a slave owner (or a pedophile for that matter), so your despicable stupid book doesn't interest me.
If you follow what it says in the bible, you will end up in jail for murder, rape, child abuse, etc, etc. I have no interest in that. I am a decent person with morals and I don't need some bronze age crap telling me that I am a sinner and giving me pathetic instructions about how to live my life, thanks. I have more "christian" values than probably 99% of you lame-ass christians.
So you can shove that piece of anachronistic, immoral gobbledygook where the sun don't shine.
Do you even know what the word "faith" means. Obviously not.
I don't think you know what the word "evidence" means either.
You are willfully ignorant of the facts. That is pretty much the definition of faith: Continuing to believe in something despite all of the evidence to the contrary. The evidence for evolution is overwhelming. It is a fact. There is absolutely no doubt of that.
You keep repeating that atheism requires faith. Can you explain where you got that ridiculous idea?
@Nilguiri No, I've been debating atheists for 20 years and most are woefully ignorant about fundamental foundations of science as well as almost totally ignorant of the massive evidence for creation science that easily beats both atheism and evolution.
There are different kinds of faith (do you know that). Christian faith is trust based on an incomparable track record of accuracy and contribution to the benefit and progress of mankind and literally billions of confirmations of it's claims.
Yes, I have "faith" that the sun will come up in the morning because in my personal experience it has always done so. There is nothing wrong with that type of faith. I have a problem with religious faith, which basically says... Stop thinking, don't do any investigation and ignore all evidence.
That is a despicable way to live.
I am not ignorant, woefully or otherwise, about the evidence for creation "science" (an oxymoron if ever I heard one!). There is none. zero.
@TruthIsLife7 Ancient desert scribblings are in no way "evidence". If thats the case then the sun god Amen Ra is real because he was actually written into stone along with Horus and Isis thousands of years before the bible came along. And unlike the bible, we know that text is original and unmodified. You dont believe in Amen, (even though you unknowingly acknowledge him in prayer), Allah, or Thor, because your childhood teachings involved a different set of modified ancient tales.
@JabberCT The Bible is NOT desert scribblings. Ridicule and straw manning is not intelligent. We have far more documentation that the original text of the Bible is very close to the original than almost anything else. See the 1st video under my play list on historical evidence.
Oh the childhood teaching argument. Do you all go to some guru to learn this one? So, should we just throw away everything we learned in childhood, including the scientific method. Come on. Use some sense.
@JabberCT I have ZERO need to follow fiction.I've changed quite a few views in politics, economics, education, religion and other areas. Following the weight of evidence is what those who are rational and genuinely scientific and interested in truth do. Start watching some of the my playlists. If you watch them all, you won't even know 1% of the evidence that exists for the Bible. Why do you want to be an atheist? It has no benefit, while Christianity is the foundation of modern civilization.
@TruthIsLife7 I didnt wake up 1 day and say id like to be a Atheist. It comes as you learn more and more how ridiculous the bible is. And yes, you should throw away all your childhood teachings on religion, or anything else Supernatural. There is no evidence for any of it. Like most religious people, you get the words "evidence" and "faith" mixed up. For instance, you dont need faith in the existence of trees. But God, you do. Why? No evidence. Anyone can prove trees are real. How about God?
@JabberCT Anybody who thinks the Bible is ridiculous is simply ignorant of the progress of our knowledge in history and science. Hardly a month or week goes by that some new research confirms something the Bible said in some way. So many things that were thought fiction, we now know to be important fact. Atheism uses an enormous more amount of faith than any religion does, since there is no evidence for abiogenesis or that complex functioning and reproducing design can come from chance.
2) Creationist natural selection (species to genus/family variation referred to in Genesis and published by creationists like Edward Blyth LONG before Darwin) vs. unique Darwinian levels of natural selection (speciation from ~family to kingdom levels). Again, Bible science wins hands down.
PLUS, following Bible health science gives you 10+ years extra life on avg. See my playlist on health.There is sooo much evidence. See my other playlists. NO, I do NOT get evidence and faith mixed up.You do.
@JabberCT You are making classic a false comparison fallacy. You need to hypotheses dealing with the same question. I could compare photosynthesis to string theory and say that string theory is refuted by evidence of photosynthesis if I were using the principles you are. The correct rival concepts are:
1) Abiogenesis (atheism) vs. biogenesis (theism) since these both deal with the origin of life. Theism has billions of observable cases. Atheism has none.
@JabberCT I just listed 2 claims of the Bible, biogenesis and creationist natural selection. These 2 alone give you billions of observable cases. There are hundreds of lines of evidence with billions of confirmations of claims of Christianity.
Excuse me I have to say something:Atheists, my sons and daughters are queens and kings, but you, heathens, are wicked, harlots, whores, fornicators, blasphemers, immorals, delusional, poisonous/venomous/toxic , hypocrites etc Strong, hu? Such is the world without God
Kurt Wise writes his book, IN SIX DAYS: "Although THERE ARE SCIENTIFIC REASONS FOR ACCEPTING A YOUNG EARTH, I am a young-age creationist because that is my understanding of the Scripture. As I shared with my professors years ago when I was in college, if all the evidence in the universe turned against creationism, I would be the first to admit it, but I would still be a creationist because that is what the Word of God seems to indicate."
@thesparitan Excuse me I have to say something:Atheists, my sons and daughters are queens and kings, but you, heathens, are wicked, harlots, whores, fornicators, blasphemers, immorals, delusional, poisonous/venomous/toxic , hypocrites etc Strong, hu? Such is the world without God

How is something written as fact proof for anything?
pat5168 4 months ago
I believe Kurt Wise made the right decision ! I as a Biology student in Switzerland have heard a lot... far to much about evolution and the theory of a old earth, and I honestly have to say that what is written in the holy scripture is the truth and the ultimate evidence for creationism. If the Bible was wrong... wouldn't have God interfered a long time ago and ? And who would know better about our past than the creator himself ? Well, we will know the truth after death. God bless you !
oki1991 4 months ago
@oki1991 You sir are an uneducated fool. Research the writing and compiling of the Bible. It is nothing more than the superstitious ramblings of men with less knowledge than an average 5th grader. If complex designs call for a creator...then who created the Creator? You promote an illogical premise and then cannot argue to support it.
greenarcher180 3 months ago
@greenarcher180 And once again there's someone who lacks of experience at religion/God. All of you people just try finding some kind of misleading interpretations, wheter it is science or just a lovely fairy tale someone came up with, just because you don't like to accept that there's a God or Creator. In fact, even if there was evidence for divine existence (there will certainly never be scientifical evidence), you'd still deny the fact of an existing God. Education leads to fools like you.
oki1991 3 months ago
@greenarcher180 -- Can you back up your statement, "...the superstitious ramblings of men with less knowledge than an average 5th grader..."? You suggest that you have researched this yourself. Thx.
brucebruceify 3 months ago
@greenarcher180 It seems that a great many scientist don't agree with you modern science was built on the backs of Christian Scientist; Copernicus, Sir Francis Bacon, Kepler, Gallileo, Descartes, Pascal, newton, Boyle and Francis Collins(head of the human genome project) so your If your contentions are true about only the uneducated would believe in the bible then modern science itself is for fools for without Christians modern science would not exist in it's present form
lejohnson2 1 day ago
@lejohnson2 And to your second contention "who created God" whatever created this Cosmos must not be bound be the same physical laws that are built into creation itself.....Time, Space, and Cause and effect meaning that you can't create time and be bound by it....The God of the Bible is Immaterial, Eternal, and Un-caused. Basic Logic would tell you that you can't create time and then be bound by those same laws.

As usual Dawkins is talking bollocks. Dr Kurt Wise did NOT give up science. He is a brilliant Scientist who still works as a scientist. Despite his His knowledge of geology made it easy for him to reject Darwinism because the facts do not support it. I would strongly suggest that people listening to this Dawkins dribble check out what Dr Wise actually said!!
jeepsterrr 1 year ago
@jeepsterrr Wise has a BA from Chicago and an MA from Harvard, so why is he teaching at Bryan College Dayton Surely he would want his findings taught at the highest possible seats of learning, why would Wise have to teach at a bible school? is it because a bible school faculty won't question his spurious findings? It aways makes me smile when creationists pour plaudits on "scientists" with PhD's from Dave's bible school & Griil, but they want their brain surgeons to graduate from real collages
hughjarrse 1 year ago
@hughjarrse I wonder if you have a brain yourself. The reason Wise is not teaching at one of the so called "higher" seats of learning is that they will not tolerate anyone who dares to question Darwinism. You know that full well. It is clearly the case. The strategy. Bar dissenters from the top universities then use the fact they are not teaching there as evidence against them. Natural selection is a fact, but it does not support the Darwinian fairytale.

@3:07,
"What chance have we got when the indoctrination, the imprinting of childhood, leaves a mind so wrecked as that?"
TheFlanker35 1 year ago
@2:39,
If religion destroyed Kurt Wise's science career, it made Bernhard Riemann's career and Raymond Damadian's career. Religion can be very very good even if it's false. Lots of things are false and useful.
Does the age of the Earth really make that big of a difference in most practical uses of science?

FranklenWylder 1 year ago
@FranklenWylder Because at the end of the day, when they are both reduced to what they really are, they are deemed incompatible. For me, I think religios people should embrace the metaphoric value of scripture as the ultimate justification for their belief instead of taking on scientists. They will ALWAYS lose that battle.
244Ohiro 1 year ago
@FranklenWylder
"Why exactly can't one be a scientist & a believer ?"
Because science is based on evidence. Religion is based on faith and dogma which means sticking to an idea DESPITE all of the overwhelming evidence to the contrary.
That, exactly, is why science and religion are incompatible.
There... that wasn't so diffucult, was it?
Nilguiri 1 year ago
@Nilguiri
That makes a lot of sense, but, how do you explain people who are scientist & believers of some sort of religion as well? I've often wondered how that works seeing as how I have zilch spiritual faith.
No, it wasn't difficult... is refraining from being condescending difficult?
FranklenWylder 1 year ago
@FranklenWylder
Nilguiri 1 year ago
@FranklenWylder Nilguiri's post on religion was almost pure fiction. Nearly all religions, even false ones have far more evidence than atheism does for example and most have more evidence than there is for evolution. Check my Genesis Conflict and "Come Search with Me" playlists for TINY bit of the evidence, Dr. Veith (Genesis Conflict) was a virulent atheist convinced by evidence to become a creationist. The Dr. in the other playlist also became a Christian due to evidence.
TruthIsLife7 1 year ago
@Nilguiri You could not be more wrong. The Bible is based on tons of evidence, literally billions of pieces and it is pure ignorance to say that it is only faith. That is blatantly falsehood of stupendous magnitude. Time and time again God tells people they can test what he says for themselves and check the evidence and only AFTER that are they asked to have some faith...as is required in any relationship and which also exists in science (and atheism is nearly 100% faith).
TruthIsLife7 1 year ago
@TruthIsLife7
Nilguiri 1 year ago
@Nilguiri It is absolute foolishness to think that faith makes you lazy. Galileo said that God gave us a mind and he intended us to use it. Faith has inspired numerous scientific discoveries both directly and indirectly. We have faith in teachers, in parents, textbooks, and they help us to gain wisdom (when they are accurate). The Bible has directly and indirectly inspired many areas of historical AND scientific discovery as well as important philosophical foundations of modern science.
TruthIsLife7 1 year ago
@Nilguiri ALL use faith, esp. atheists.Atheists use almost 100% faith (more than even most false religions),since there is no testable evidence at ALL for abiogenesis. Atheism only has speculations upon guesses upon fantasies and that's it. Same goes for much of the rest of their explanations for how life has evolved which is almost all based on speculative evidence(evolutionists and atheists aren't the same, but they ARE closely connected).Christianity is ~80% based on evidence,~20% faith.
TruthIsLife7 1 year ago
@TruthIsLife7
Nilguiri 1 year ago
@Nilguiri Your definition of atheism is only accurate in terms of modern atheism, and it came to this definition because spontaneous generation and abiogenesis have completely failed scientifically and been falsified. Atheism for centuries was an aggressive rejection that gods exist. This is what the Stanford Encyclopedia of philosophy says. But, it really doesn't matter what definition of atheism you use. None are scientific. None have even the 1st of evidence.

TruthIsLife7 1 year ago
@TruthIsLife7
Nilguiri 1 year ago
@Nilguiri You are also completely ignorant if you think scientists don't have vested interest and detached from reality. I have worked as an editor of academic papers and know many cases where there is pride, ego, vested interest, bias in academia in many fields. This is a reality. Common people are blinded by propaganda. Most in academia know it's a lie. Becoming a scientists doesn't immunize you from pride or ego. That's just stupid to think it does.
TruthIsLife7 1 year ago
@TruthIsLife7
OK, I agree, individual scientists might have a vested interest. You are right. However, that is due to pride, etc. OK.
However, that is not how it is "supposed" to be, Science itself is just a method to get to the truth.
Nilguiri 1 year ago
@Nilguiri btw, abiogenesis research has failed for ~a century. How many billions of dollars are we supposed to pour into useless research while children are dying every day for their basic needs? This is flat out immoral, far worse than your misrepresentations of the Bible that are due to ignorance and trusting critics who don't care about accuracy or any sort of fairness. Atheism can't say anything about morality. It was atheists regimes who killed over 100 million in the last century.
TruthIsLife7 1 year ago
@TruthIsLife7
Ah! here we go!!!
Nilguiri 1 year ago
@TruthIsLife7
"a whole city can spring up by chance."
"God did it" is willful ignorance.
Nilguiri 1 year ago
@Nilguiri God did it is yet another straw man. U seem to know them all. The mud&water is comparable to what abiogenesis scientists like Dr. Jack Szostak are claiming (I've read some of his research and read quite a bit on his site). They have seen that amino acids can combine from chemicals. Congrats. Students know chemicals can combine. Amino acids combining does NOT mean a whole cell can be created by chance anymore than mud and water combining mean a city can come by chance.
TruthIsLife7 1 year ago
@TruthIsLife7
Yes, I can see that you understand the basic concepts of evolution (sarcasm),
Nilguiri 1 year ago
@Nilguiri Um, I know evolution FAR better than you know creation. I read books by Stephen Jay Gould and people like him in my undergrad classes. I've watched literally 100s if not thousands of atheists and evolutionists videos..and am currently reading "Your Inner Fish". If I have misconceptions about evolution, it's the fault of the top evolutionists in the world.
Um, most atheist regimes killed people explicitly because they were religious. I have many primary sources on this.
TruthIsLife7 1 year ago
@TruthIsLife7
what do you mean "know creation" there is nothing to know!
It is like saying that I don't know the Grimm fairy tales. Learning a work of fiction by heart doesn't make it any truer. It is still fiction even if you study it all your life.
Nilguiri 1 year ago
@Nilguiri "what do you mean "know creation" there is nothing to know!"
-
I'm not going to waste time with you if you insist on willful ignorance. Watch my playlist on the Genesis Conflict or the creation evidence for laymen if that Genesis Conflict is too deep for you (the laymen one has better graphics). When you have watched either of those playlists, then maybe we can talk on an intellectual level. Right now you are just too uninformed justify conversation.
TruthIsLife7 1 year ago
@TruthIsLife7
Goodbye.

Nilguiri 1 year ago
@Nilguiri Saying "I lack belief" has many problems.
1) It is not some magic potion word that makes you immune to having to provide evidence for your worldview.
2) As soon as someone provides one evidence of what you doubt...you lose by the rules of science.
The "lack belief" thing is an anti-rational and anti-scientific copout, usually used by people who have emotional reasons for not wanting to follow evidence.
TruthIsLife7 1 year ago
@TruthIsLife7
Nilguiri 1 year ago
@Nilguiri "Why is there nothing about DNA in the bible?"
There are actually strong hints to it and or unseen and invisible structures in a couple places. But,
1) The Bible's purpose is not to explain all science. If God told us everything in the Bible, why would he need to make a brain. How could we enjoy the thrill of discovery?
2) If the Bible had stated that overtly, for millenia people would have mocked it for being false even though it was correct since they had no way to detect DNA.
TruthIsLife7 1 year ago
@Nilguiri The Bible does say some things in scientific areas&it has been the direct and indirect inspiration for a host of innovations and discoveries as well as new fields in science. Just 5 Christian scientists saved ~2 billion lives. Nobody else has come anywhere close to that. So many streams of evidences. Start watching some of my videos. It's not just for eternity. It directly concerns your quality of life NOW. Bible health principles add 10+ years to the lives of those who follow them.
TruthIsLife7 1 year ago
@TruthIsLife7
Nilguiri 1 year ago
@Nilguiri Congrats, you know canards and straw men that have been debunked or explained long ago. Is that the best you can do? Are you interested in being objective, looking at hard evidence at all? I'm not interested in a dialogue with someone who doesn't care about science and evidence.
I didn't say all science was faith. But, ALL science DOES rest on faith called axioms that are unproveable. Real scientists of all types know this and admit this. Have you ever worked in academia like I do?
TruthIsLife7 1 year ago
@TruthIsLife7
No, I have not, and yet I seem to have a greater understanding of what science is than you do. If you are in "academia" then, with respect, you should get you act together or get out. There is no room for ignorance and lies like yours in "academia".
Nilguiri 1 year ago
@Nilguiri You know NOTHING about me or my work.I work with doctors who won the #1 prize in the world a couple years ago in the annual worldwide ENT conference. You have not the least bit of position on which to judge anything. I'm just rushing off replies here (and losing sleep to do it since I'm sooo crazy busy with my paying job). Yes, science is supposed to be a method to get to the truth&it often works VERY well. But, politics, money, pride and bias of different types sometimes hamper that.
TruthIsLife7 1 year ago
@TruthIsLife7
Yes, scentists are human. That is no reason to reject science.
So are priests. I suppose that's why they rape children, and that is yet another reason to reject religion.
Nilguiri 1 year ago
@Nilguiri But, I didn't say atheists can't be moral. While God is the only source of morality and no one would even have a thought to do good without Him and no one would even breathe without Him, you don't have to be Christian to be moral. I know some very admirable and moral atheists. But whenever atheisms has been the official worldview of a nation, it's been extremely murderous, cruel and oppressive to human rights. NO EXCEPTIONS. The atheistic system is an enemy of human freedom.
TruthIsLife7 1 year ago
@Nilguiri Ah, the priest allegation.
TruthIsLife7 1 year ago
@TruthIsLife7
Nilguiri 1 year ago
@Nilguiri I also have great recommendations from fellow professors and students and have worked in both secular and Christian universities. There are no lies in what I say. I hate lies more than you can possibly imagine. I lost $150,000 due to dishonest business partners and it nearly destroyed my marriage and so much else. You just don't have the faintest idea how cruel lies have been to me. I vehemently oppose them. But, I have made mistakes. I'll thank you if you find any and correct them.
TruthIsLife7 1 year ago
@TruthIsLife7
OK, you have recommendations.
Appeal to authority all you want. That is not evidence, as I am sure you know.
Nilguiri 1 year ago

TruthIsLife7 1 year ago
@TruthIsLife7
MY willful ignorance? That's ironic!
Nilguiri 1 year ago
@Nilguiri When you refuse to look at evidence in depth, that's willful ignorance. Do you really think 500 character commments on youtube is going to change anyone's mind? Don't be so naive. You need to spend significant time watching well developed,written,produced evidence,arguments,etc. To even post a short peer reviewed article would take 100 youtube comment postings or so and I just do NOT have the time for that. Isn't it worth your time to find out how the Bible adds 10+ years to THIS life?
TruthIsLife7 1 year ago
@TruthIsLife7
Nilguiri 1 year ago
@Nilguiri
Nilguiri 1 year ago
@TruthIsLife7
Nilguiri 1 year ago
@TruthIsLife7
Nilguiri 1 year ago
@Nilguiri No, I've been debating atheists for 20 years and most are woefully ignorant about fundamental foundations of science as well as almost totally ignorant of the massive evidence for creation science that easily beats both atheism and evolution.
There are different kinds of faith (do you know that). Christian faith is trust based on an incomparable track record of accuracy and contribution to the benefit and progress of mankind and literally billions of confirmations of it's claims.
TruthIsLife7 1 year ago
@TruthIsLife7
There is none. zero.
Nilguiri 1 year ago
@TruthIsLife7
"literally billions of confirmations of it's claims." ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ah ah ah ha ahh a!!!!
Are you having a laugh?
Nilguiri 1 year ago
@TruthIsLife7 Ancient desert scribblings are in no way "evidence". If thats the case then the sun god Amen Ra is real because he was actually written into stone along with Horus and Isis thousands of years before the bible came along. And unlike the bible, we know that text is original and unmodified. You dont believe in Amen, (even though you unknowingly acknowledge him in prayer), Allah, or Thor, because your childhood teachings involved a different set of modified ancient tales.
JabberCT 1 year ago
@JabberCT The Bible is NOT desert scribblings. Ridicule and straw manning is not intelligent. We have far more documentation that the original text of the Bible is very close to the original than almost anything else. See the 1st video under my play list on historical evidence.
Oh the childhood teaching argument. Do you all go to some guru to learn this one? So, should we just throw away everything we learned in childhood, including the scientific method. Come on. Use some sense.
TruthIsLife7 1 year ago
@JabberCT I have ZERO need to follow fiction.I've changed quite a few views in politics, economics, education, religion and other areas. Following the weight of evidence is what those who are rational and genuinely scientific and interested in truth do. Start watching some of the my playlists. If you watch them all, you won't even know 1% of the evidence that exists for the Bible. Why do you want to be an atheist? It has no benefit, while Christianity is the foundation of modern civilization.
TruthIsLife7 1 year ago
@TruthIsLife7 I didnt wake up 1 day and say id like to be a Atheist. It comes as you learn more and more how ridiculous the bible is. And yes, you should throw away all your childhood teachings on religion, or anything else Supernatural. There is no evidence for any of it. Like most religious people, you get the words "evidence" and "faith" mixed up. For instance, you dont need faith in the existence of trees. But God, you do. Why? No evidence. Anyone can prove trees are real. How about God?
JabberCT 1 year ago
@JabberCT Anybody who thinks the Bible is ridiculous is simply ignorant of the progress of our knowledge in history and science. Hardly a month or week goes by that some new research confirms something the Bible said in some way. So many things that were thought fiction, we now know to be important fact. Atheism uses an enormous more amount of faith than any religion does, since there is no evidence for abiogenesis or that complex functioning and reproducing design can come from chance.
TruthIsLife7 1 year ago
2) Creationist natural selection (species to genus/family variation referred to in Genesis and published by creationists like Edward Blyth LONG before Darwin) vs. unique Darwinian levels of natural selection (speciation from ~family to kingdom levels). Again, Bible science wins hands down.
PLUS, following Bible health science gives you 10+ years extra life on avg. See my playlist on health.There is sooo much evidence. See my other playlists. NO, I do NOT get evidence and faith mixed up.You do.
TruthIsLife7 1 year ago
@JabberCT You are making classic a false comparison fallacy. You need to hypotheses dealing with the same question. I could compare photosynthesis to string theory and say that string theory is refuted by evidence of photosynthesis if I were using the principles you are. The correct rival concepts are:
1) Abiogenesis (atheism) vs. biogenesis (theism) since these both deal with the origin of life. Theism has billions of observable cases. Atheism has none.
TruthIsLife7 1 year ago
@TruthIsLife7 Name one observable case.
