Derek Trucks, Joe Bonamassa, Gary Moore, Randy Rhoads, Rory Gallagher, Brian May, Michael Schenker, Jason Becker, Paul Gilbert... The list could go on.
Nobody can play like Clapton would be a better approximation.

Well... I really agree with you, nobody makes a better solo, but I am sure Mark Knopfler makes solos as good as Clapton.

Absolutely agreed.I have to say Knopfler is another genius as Clapton and minute 3:43 when they get in together is awesome but Eric`s playing is clean and pure and he never misses a note.
