Kind of like Punisher89. The Original writer Boaz Yakin said that he wrote the skull into the film. But that it would be spray painted on the black t-shirt, but apparently the Director/Goldblatt & Producer/Karmen called Yakins script to comic booky & thought the skull on Lundgren would look ridiculous & would make him look like an unrealistic cartoon. But making a Punisher film without the skull is just like making a Batman film without the Bat emblem.
in daredevil the movie what was up with daredevil initials in lighter oil for the reporter to find does he really do that he is a blind man an would just leave no canvas an area for his initials
Now I personally didn't think the Galactius in the comics would work in a film so I was kind of hoping they would kind of change him a bit, you know be a little creative. But making him a giant cloud! Come on that has to be one of the laziest excuses of writing I have ever seen. It's like they turned on the TV and Lost was on and they thought that would work.
the superhero costume is a uniform it says your here to work if you garbage man, butcher, engineer show up dressed in a three piece suit it not reallistic jumpsuit are great but it a too cool for school attitude so no more uniform tom brady in tshirt an jeans an trenchcoat air quotes
and I'm saying they would not. Bright spandex doesn't translate well. it'd be a joke. Look at alex ross's flash, as an example, it looks corny as hell. you can't make that look good.
I don't think MOST costumes woudl be tha tmuch of a problem if you just rework them a little. No one had a problem with Superman's in live action and that's red blue and underware ont he ouside. I don't think many other problems can completely never be translated.
Yeah but as real as Ross work his I wouldn't buy any of it in the real world. He has a weird kind of unbelivability to his drawings.
i think thor will be the ultimate test. if they throw asgardian mythology at us and don't deliver on thors AWESOME costume i'm gonna be pissed.
cap should be interesting too, considering how fucking stupid those wings and that giant A looks. if there's one costume [mainly the mask] they should tweak it's caps. problem is it's kind of iconic.
Its all about being able in some way take character seriously. Diff' with Spiderman and the movie batman- No underwear on outside. Plain and simple. I also have this problem with the superman costume. There is no reason for them.
& then theres female costumes which would alienate most of female audience. They just look stupid ie Star Saphire of Teen Titans in comics.
Costumes can work, but many need to be tweaked. Colour, undies and sometimes capes; Go Edna Mode :P
As much as they left Spider-man's costume alone they really fucked up the Green Goblin's costume. I think it looked even more jarring because it was up against Spider-man's classic look.
If only people in charge of that actually LISTENED to people like you. Then again, we all know how much hollywood values our opinions( TF2, Dragonball E, X3, etc.)
The reason that movies make things 'realistic' is because they are scared of alienating the public that isnt familiar with the characters. If they cant make a movie appealible to people with didnt read the comic, they wont make any money. It is not like I agree with this, but this is the only reason that movies about comic books are made.
I honestly think that most hollywood filmmakers use "realism" in their adaptations just to save a bit of money. Dragonball Evolution can be a good example of that.
realism needs to STOP!!!!!!!!!!!

retrokid1992 6 months ago
@retrokid1992 He loves the movies. And they are still better than Burtons so called movies.
Benubenusus 5 months ago
Very simple. More realism -> less requirement for a suspension of disbelief. That's why people like Nolan's Batman and Singer's X-Men.
koleda321 6 months ago
@koleda321 But it makes no sence in FF. And whats the point of doing the movie in the first place?

I think you could do wolverine's yellow or tan costume in live action, it could look similar to christian bale's batman costume.

simply becuase movies have to appeal to the general public, they can't appeal to the niche.
