@ccipollini1984 I do. I also listen to Patti when she's in top form. I've seen her live in many venues. She's a force of nature. Unfortunately, no one is perfect all the time. If i were her i'd remove this video. If you'd never heard of her before and saw/heard this, you'd laugh or turn it off.
@OscarLimaMike: You said it! Such a beautiful pure soul. And if you want to know and love her even more deeply, for the stunning poetry of her storytelling and for the poetry that is her life, read her book Just Kids. Such a revealing look at the beginning and growth of her relationship with Robert Mapplethorpe and their first years in NYC. I've already decided to re-read it as soon as I'm finished!
Saw her in DC at the 9:30 club a couple nights before this. She was surrounded by the surviving members of her band and accompanied by her son Jackson. The hard, damaged beauty of her voice and soul poured out and moved almost everyone in the room. It also brought a tear to my eye that night.
No problem :) i'm glad someone appreciates the greats, Although I am still young, I still know when I hear a soul crying out with music, and I had the unique opportunity in my life to be able to capture that. (even though I was afraid she might see my camera and stop the show like she did at that one concert with the guy and the camera) Hahahaa.
I was at that show, and was struck by how much she looked like an angel with that halo of light shining around her head; this video beautifully captures that. Hope when I get to heaven this is the first thing I see and hear :)
If Patti were lacking in the vocal department - which she is NOT - her passion, commitment, and presence on stage FLATTENS almost every other artist out there. you can't imagine what her shows are like until you see her - she OWNS.
@DCbuilder Amen to that....her soul, like mine and that of the world is ragged and yet beautiful. I saw her in Vancouver a few years back during her Trampin' tour and was moved to tears. She is a healer and a magnificent light. She is indeed poet warrior and an amazing woman strong and true. I for one absolutely LOVE this beautiful woman. Johnny Cash has the same effect. Thank you Patti, for letting me know that I am not alone in this world...I love you sister
whoever captured this did a brilliant job . thank you.
