And now we know the results of that audit. To the tune of $16 trillion given out to banks, corporations and governments. Thanks Ron Paul and Jim Demint.
DeMint is just another Paul-wannabee, who's trying to cash-in on Paul's popularity; just like braindead Palin has taken over the Tea-Party, which was originally organized in support of Ron Paul; GOP establishment are dangling the carrot at dissatisfied GOP supporters to get them to vote for them & trying to sideline Paul but there's only one Paul, people should remember that.
@lomocan I agree with your take on Palin and that the tea party was more of a libertarian movement certainly not a movement that would support phonies like Palin, Bush, Rove, and these others who claim the tea party mantle. However, I disagree with your opinion on Demint, who is not perfect, nor is Paul. I think Demint is genuine in his desire for true conservatism. I don't think he is a Paul wannabe. Really not helpful are mindless "conservatives" like Sean Vannity.
Demint is nothing like Ron Paul. Demint has no honesty. Paul at least has that. Demint is from the society known as the Family (C Street). This guy is bad news. He is a nazi wearing a Ron Paul mask.
I'm a Canadian observer with my own idiosyncratic political dispositions peculiar to its Canadian context - often thrown into the somewhat catch-all term of Red Toryism. There's a fascinating history in the divergences of Canadian and American conservatism.
But I've come to rely on SA and magazines like American Conservative as reasoned voices in their own right. And I am curious as to what people here think of Bernie Sanders, him being after all a self-declared democratic socialist.
I have no idea how a socialist would be in posistion to make a decision in America. America is suposed to stand for freedom and Liberty ,socialism goes aginst both.
Ron Pauls pretty amazing.. I see Republicans go to Liberal media outlets and get slammed left and right.. Ron well.. he gets cheers and applause even though it would mean taking away their Social programs.. its all about truth baby! yeah! U GO PAUL!
wouldn't be surprised if they are supporting this bill for the same reason they weren't supporting his bill for the same thing before. because they want them to.
WE MUST IMMEDIATELY ARREST ALL THE MEMBERS OF THE FEDERAL RESERVE BANK Board of Directors and hold them for TREASON, extortion of American, and Congress. DeMINT & PAUL are proof that RON PAUL was correct...
all along. WE need 300 Ron Paul type candidates in 300 Congressional Districts. Let us get back to what ART 1 of the Constitution demand,
gold and silver coins and an end to FIAT Federal Reserve Notes. AMEN.
I don't find it surprising to see men like Bernie Sanders and Russ Feingold going with this legislation. Bernies Sanders was elected as an independent giving him more freedom from partisanship allowing him to support legislation he believes in. Russ Feingold has always been a man of principle and is probably one of the best defenders of the constitution. In October of 2001 the unconstitutional Partriot Act passed in the senate with a vote of 99-1; Russ Feingold was that 1.
Ron Paul really needs all the support he can get, he has the right idea on how this country should work, and how to get it to work. That's why I'm saying Ron Paul for Pres in 2012! Don't delay or hesitate, Ron knows what he's doing, but unless he gets a load of support no one is ever going to notice his completely valid and right views of this country. If Ron Paul became president, this country would spin on it's heels and become what it should be!
Do not confuse bipartisan support for ONE small government issue as a realignment of the GOP. The support Paul is getting now can be summed up in two words: Political Expediency.
The Fed will not be ended. For a brief period of time--two to four years--it will have to pick it's way more carefully. That's all. The GOP has not suddenly become Libertarian, not even on this one issue.
The neocon run republican party is failing they will have to get behind the true Republicans if they wish to win another election. Ron Paul will lead the new "Old" way of republican politics. SA you have out done your self again Great video!!
Just remember tyrants NEVER give up their power willingly. As well intentioned as the Audit the Fed Bill is, it really does not matter how many co-sponsors the bill has and how much the people want the Audit to occur, it is highly unlikely an Audit will ever occur with out the use of another Revolution.
Where did you find that shot from behind Bernanke's head of Ron looking at him all incredulous like? That has got to be one of my favorite shots from the chamber ever, there have been some really talented photogs there in recent times.
McCain's support for the first of the bailouts was just another reason why no one should've voted for him. If HR 1207 doesn't pass, There will be hell to pay. We really should have a revolution more often. The Patriot Act should've NEVER passed, and when it did, all of America should've rallied together and set things right. Who needs privacy and due process of law when you're fighting those evil-doer terrorists?
I tend to think of the principles behind HR1207 as being more American than strictly conservative. Over the past century we've been made to think that conservatism and liberalism are necessarily opposed to each other on every strata, likely because such a dichotomy would doom us to an endless, strength-sapping debate. But the truth is that that real conservatism and real liberalism have a lot of common ground, and transparency in government certainly is part of it. Real liberals can help too.
Very, very well-said henry. Partisanship only prevents us from having the truly substantial debates that a classic liberal and true conservative would have.
DeMint is completely right. We don't need sell outs and rhinos. We need uncompromising reps in the house and Senate that hold true to conservative principles. Whether the election is won or not the party will be defined as STANDING for something. They are only concerned about winning elections for the sake of keeping their jobs, NOT for the good of the country. What good is it for a "conservative" to win if they cave to the liberal agenda all the time?
If McCain was "ostracized" by the media, Ron Paul, who was actually banned from debates, and continuously insulted must have been "executed" by the media.
You can thank Fox News for that. They're the ones that treated Ron Paul like a pariah. I am not right-wing in the least, but I do respect Ron Paul, and I can relate to Ron Paul supporters in the way that Ron Paul was negatively treated. As a left-wing progressive myself, I was as pissed off with the mainstream media's treatment against Dennis Kucinich when he ran for president last year.
The other news stations were just as guilty. While they weren't openly going against Ron Paul like Fox News was, there were many occasions where he got absolutely no press.
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
What? Are you kidding? The majority of the republican party is still made up of neo-cons. People who believe the Iraq war is justified and we need even more bases over-seas. Ron Paul could never win the Rep. nomination. Not to mention even if he did he could never win the general. His domestic policy is to conservative and add that to over 20 years of racist comments.
Warcraft1920, those outrageous claims of Ron Paul being a racist were proved false. And what can be so bad about his domestic policy if the domestic policy we have now is complete worthless bullshit? Getting rid of the Fed, DEA, and bullshit Fed Income tax sounds like pretty damn good ideas to me. Or maybe you still have faith in things like social security...
