After 3 years this fucking "shitbox-made in china" crashed on me for the first time....It crashes constantly now and lots of people have the same problem with their macs. I use fan control to avoid the freezing but this only works sometimes. I can't watch a movie without restart my imac several times. I'm so dissapointed in apple...this was my first mac and it will be definitely my last one.
Macs ARE overpriced, No one has money to spend over a grand on a freaking computer, Plus Macs suck pretty bad, *PC GAMER*, I mean yeah sure, if all you do is listen to music and crap but if you wanna game, get a PC, I got a Lenovo G550 for 450-500$, MUCH cheaper than a mac and MUCH better.

Well it's right, customers prefer to buy Windows Pc's because they are cheaper and are made out for Windows to be easier.. Also to point out that these laptops/PC's are not Microsofts, they are other companies who licence the OS off Microsoft. With Apple, I do like the design of there computers, they get everything tidied up all neat. They take pride in making there computers. The reason for my switching, is I am not liking where Windows is going or how slow the OS is even with high end parts.

I'm seeing all these comments that are in 2010 and 2011 this video was made in 2008. So that means that people that are saying they got these windows computers that are metal and other things can't really compare that to this. Computers and technology are getting cheaper and cheaper in this day and age. Windows vs Mac comes down to personal preference the same as intel vs amd both have advantages and disadvantages.
Hey buddy my Dell is all metal and it was only $539.99 when I got it and it just as powerful or more powerful then the new macbook's (pro/air). Yes you can get a more powerful computer at a lower price with windows, but you dont have the greatness of a mac os. I am going both ways with it and think if you want gaming and just internet use, then use windows, but more creative things like music editing, video editing etc. use mac.... but sometimes people just cant afford mac.

I use Linux =Ubuntu 9.10 because all the software is FREE. My Ubuntu does EVERYTHING a Window$ machine does.
MicroSoft has MS Paint for handling images. Ubuntu has Gimp which is a non-crippled suite, comparable to Corel Draw.
For an irc client, Microsoft offers Mirc chat, you have to pay $25 to register it. Ubuntu has Mirc and it's FREE, also you can get many other irc clients.
I would like a Mac, but the price is quite high for me. When I discovered Linux, it's fun and FREE to use.

You can BUY brushed aluminium cases. Problem is, PC users don't want to.
@thecreativeone because aluminum is not per se the best material for laptop computers. In comparison to high tech plastic composites it's fairly heavy and way too sturdy for laptops. It might seem obvious to use aluminum, but it is not!

"You get what you pay for" is a phrase for people too lazy to do research. I've never been dumb enough not to build my own computers. Since my first PC in 98 I haven't spent enough money on my PCs to equal the price of most of Apples computers. I even use these things for serious gaming, Every PC I have ever owned still works 3 of which are still in use in my home. If you have two brain cells to rub together, build your own PC and you can have a computer without errors that lasts for cheap.
for less than 1000 you can custom build a PC that will be faster than almost every brand name computer. and if you want you can go get a metal case off the internet. Or get an alienware... Apple isn't the only company that makes metal casing for their computers.
i use both windows and mac. i personally prefer the feel and looks of a mac, but i still go to school, and my school uses mostly windows 7, so i have to have a pc. they arent bad (as long as you get one that nice), like i bought a dell studio, which was 950 pounds. (i dont know what that is in dollars) and i have to say, if u buy a nice pc computer, they are very nice. As long as you dont go with cheap pc's (under around 500 pounds) then youre fine with a pc.

The only thing I concern myself with when buying a laptop, besides a durable case construction, is whether or not it's going to be compatible with whatever OS I choose to run on it. If It's loaded down with components and firmware that prevent me from doing that, then I don't want it in the first place. I don't care whose logo is on the front of it. Especially so now that Apple has gotten away from PPC and are basically just over-priced PCs.

You can install Windows on a Mac with OS X using Boot Camp, therefore, a Mac has the capabilities of both. OS X only legaly runs os Macs. Therefore Macs > other computers.

apple doesn't make a lot of money on mac's, they get about 100 to 200 dollar profits on each mac, they're money comes from ipods, software, the os, and other various products. Some PC's cost less because they're are striped down cheap computers, apple only makes the best computers they can with the most advance hardware. They don't offer striped down versions. Often times if you try order a PC that's as good as the equivalent mac, it ends up being more expensive.
No offense, but people don't have a RIGHT to be mad at MS' ad. Apple has been directly putting down MS for years now, even AFTER MS bailed them out in 1997. MS were about to be under trial by the DoJ for anti-competetive behaviour and this was a way to look less evil.

i was a long time apple user for 15 years, now having a macbook pro 15" aluminum, replacing my aging aging and scaldingly hot powerbook g4 12". the only macs i ever had problems with were my short-lived ibook g3 which had that logicboard faillure, but that was the only one after 5-7 computers. pc's forget about them.
there are pro and cons to all thing and there's always fighting over whats better but in the end you like what you like and i like what i like don't try and force what you like on others let them choose what they want for them self's.
All computers are surrounded by metal. The diference is that the front hAs a decorTive plastic coating on the front for effect. I'm a pc user and I'm NEVER going back to a mac again. It's nohing against Apple I just hate their computers. I have an iPod and I love it it's just I've had bad experiances with apple and the $1500 iBook that WOULD NOT TURN ON!

"You get what you pay for" is a phrase for people too lazy to do research. I've never been dumb enough not to build my own computers. Since my first PC in 98 I haven't spent enough money on my PCs to equal the price of most of Apples computers. I even use these things for serious gaming, Every PC I have ever owned still works 3 of which are still in use in my home. If you have two brain cells to rub together, build your own PC and you can have a computer without errors that lasts for cheap.

i use both windows and mac. i personally prefer the feel and looks of a mac, but i still go to school, and my school uses mostly windows 7, so i have to have a pc. they arent bad (as long as you get one that nice), like i bought a dell studio, which was 950 pounds. (i dont know what that is in dollars) and i have to say, if u buy a nice pc computer, they are very nice. As long as you dont go with cheap pc's (under around 500 pounds) then youre fine with a pc.

The only thing I concern myself with when buying a laptop, besides a durable case construction, is whether or not it's going to be compatible with whatever OS I choose to run on it. If It's loaded down with components and firmware that prevent me from doing that, then I don't want it in the first place. I don't care whose logo is on the front of it. Especially so now that Apple has gotten away from PPC and are basically just over-priced PCs.

I'm saying that a Mac running OS X can do everything a computer running Windows can except for a bunch of old games.
You can install Windows on a Mac with OS X using Boot Camp, therefore, a Mac has the capabilities of both. OS X only legaly runs os Macs. Therefore Macs > other computers.
Software is not the same as hardware.

apple doesn't make a lot of money on mac's, they get about 100 to 200 dollar profits on each mac, they're money comes from ipods, software, the os, and other various products. Some PC's cost less because they're are striped down cheap computers, apple only makes the best computers they can with the most advance hardware. They don't offer striped down versions. Often times if you try order a PC that's as good as the equivalent mac, it ends up being more expensive.

If Apple sued them Microsoft would be a much smaller company today, and may not exist as they'd have been forced to split into two or more entities under the monopoly legislation. MS were about to be under trial by the DoJ for anti-competetive behaviour and this was a way to look less evil.

All computers are surrounded by metal. The diference is that the front hAs a decorTive plastic coating on the front for effect. I'm a pc user and I'm NEVER going back to a mac again. It's nohing against Apple I just hate their computers. I have an iPod and I love it it's just I've had bad experiances with apple and the $1500 iBook that WOULD NOT TURN ON!

But in ads by Apple, they Mac is the "cool" person (laid-back, casual) when the PC is "not cool" (business suite, up tight).
