Cant he just stab ur wrist or hand when u block it?? When ur blocking the knife, isnt there a chance he can like stab ur hand or wrist while u block it??
@Justinnnnnish i was told in a knife fight get used to being cut, cuz you will get cut, nature of the beast. i have been cut several times, and my fellow student has had a sword go threw 3/4 of his wrist. in bladed weapons you will get cut even training, but we try very hard not to cut each other. dont forget in this art the hand without the knife is just as dangerous as the one with it. Legit question tho
Hey man great vids. I've been wondering for a long time if there was any way yall could post some instructional videos at all? I'm not asking for anything to unique to your brand of Kali. Just simple basic stuff like hubud lubud. I'm really interested in you alls approach to empty hand.
Your style of Kali is really great! I can see the explosiveness and the fast but balanced footwork. Deadly moves; no fancy stuff. It really shows why it's called RAPIDO REALISMO. I am not a trained practitioner of this art but I am quite familiar with the Cebuano Eskrima styles(I'm from Cebu by the way), and I do self-training when I have time.
Great FMA work. I may not hail from any specific Kali sect but I can see the effectivity in the movements and the fluidity. I am a Russian Systema instructor in Baguio City and I believe you have a great grasp of bursting into the opponent's range and breaking their line of movement. Very angular work and smart tactics. In Systema, we favor fluidity alot but when mixed with movements such as yours, it can be quite a beautiful combination. Thank you for posting the vid, hope to see more. :)
Another great video. Nice work. Question for you. Do you typically train your mano mano in a right hand lead? It seems as if you defaulted to that lead most often based on what your strong hand is regarding your weapons work. Thanks!
Hello, sir! Thank you for taking the time to watch our videos. Yes, we train in the right lead. It seems you have some backgound in Filipino Martial Arts as well, my friend. We hold the weapon with our dominant hand in the lead for maximum reach. In unarmed combat, most FMA practitioners prefer to use the same stance, though FMA practitioners are known to shift from one lead to another in combat. Thank you, sir!
@Fightenthusiast Thanks. Yes, I have been training FMA for the past couple of years and really love it. I started off in Modern Arnis and Sayoc Kali and then moved to the Inosanto-LaCoste blend of Kali which is what I am doing now. In Modern Arnis, we did our empty hand material in right lead a large portion of the time. In the Inosanto system, we switch to left lead when we go empty hand for some reason. Take care!
where can i find a descent and formal online training for this art? pls help, thanks!
